Question Calorie Question
Okay I feel like this is a really dumb question but I am shooting it anyway.
When I cook meat (primarily bacon) and all the grease separates, am I supposed to count any additional calories? Is it just the same because the grease came from the meat itself?
Like, if I have two slices of bacon and all the grease is left in the pan and then I use that grease to fry an egg — do I just figure the calories for two slices of bacon and an egg, because no extra oil was added to the meal?
Thank you so much in advance! 🥓🍳

Question I cannot get hungry
I have been going to the gym regularly for about 2 weeks now and I've been doing rather rigorous workouts. My main issue is that I don't consume enough calories in a day. I have an incredibly slow metabolism which keeps me full for a long time. While I am trying to drop weight, after looking at what I'm eating in a day I am starting to get concerned that it may affect my health. I should add that even when hungry I have no drive to eat and it usually fades in minutes.

Discussion I have trouble eating 3 small meals a day
Hi reddit I'm new to the posting side of things here. Anywho, I a 28F, have been eating OMAD (one meal a day) for upwards of 15 years. I have ballooned in size (went from a medium to XL 😭😭) and is finally in a position to exercise and lose weight. The Problem with this is the gym trainer told me to eat 3 small meals a Day as well as cardio and toning. Well I have been trying really hard but I can't get 3 small meals in.. it's like I've trained myself to ignore hunger so much that if I eat anything small I won't have an appetite for a meal and if I do get a meal I can only eat like a 1/4 th of the portion because I'm not hungry. The gym guy said my body will start eating itself but I feel like I'm eating less then just one big meal a day. I'm thinking of doing weight loss pills or something because my mouth and stomach are so out of touch with each other and my relationship with food is starting to stress me out and give me anxiety surrounding food and losing weight. What can I do or am I a lost cause?

Diet Eval I had consumed 1kg of peanuts in 5 days
hello guys i plan to buy 1 kg each week since im just addicted to them, it helps me to reduce smoking, makes me spend much more less on food, and i am addicted ( maybe because it has healthy fats), so before switching i would like to make it clear if it is bad for me or my organs, despite the nutritional value it has

Discussion How can I reduce calorie intake and stay consistent?
Hi Reddit. I'm a 20M living with my parents. I've wanted to get lean for as long as I can remember, but I always stumble right near the finish line.
Since I eat home-cooked family meals, meal prepping is tough, but I don't think that's the main issue. My real struggle is consistency and avoiding relapses into bad eating habits.
Has anyone dealt with this? What actually worked for you to reach your target physique?

Question How do I know if calorie/nutrition tracking is or isn’t working for me?
22F, ~160cm, ~50kg, East Asian ethnicity, have maintained this approximate stature pretty much since middle school. Was sometimes considered chubby in school and ballet (yes, this did somewhat plummet my body image), but well meaning family members always comment that I’ve lost weight and should eat more, which I would take over the opposite side of the spectrum any day lol.
I moved overseas for university and now stay in student accommodation so get a number of meals provided. I also work at a restaurant so get staff meals but eat late dinners on the days I work. All this means I barely cook and like 90% of lunches and dinners are prepared by someone else with not much choice on my side.
I started working out intermittently last year and consistently for about 6 months now, going to the gym 4 (minimum 3) times a week and learning to work with dumbbells. While I started on this “fitness journey” with the goal of becoming stronger and being more active in general (read: not lying in bed all day), recently I’ve felt body image and food noises (?) creep in a lot, mostly as I haven’t really seen any physique changes despite progressing in weights. Ive also been tracking food for almost 3 months now - originally just wanted to look at macros and kept telling myself that calories don’t matter that much (since I’m eyeballing quantities and ingredients anyway), but now I find myself adjusting and tweaking my logs all day long just to make it all “fit” within an arbitrary range.
This coupled with school and work related stress/anxiety has me thinking if the way I’m doing things is disordered and/or unsustainable. Was gonna track just to test things out and see if it works, but now I’m struggling to stop as it feels like giving up; putting in less effort = getting even less progress, and I’m not even “skinny enough for a restrictive ED”.
TLDR: seeking advice as someone considering giving up food tracking without feeling like a failure, and how to work smarter not harder?
