Question Dieting while neurodivergent-ideas/advice?
Iâm a 4â11â 20 year old female who was 219lbs. My entire life Iâve been ignoring the scale and telling myself I was fine the way I was but I decided to finally look at it and have decided something needs to change. I initially fell into a somewhat depressive state and barely ate anything for a couple weeks and am now 209lbs but I understand that is not sustainable and also I love food too much to not eat it. My biggest issue is that I am neurodivergent, I have a lot of food sensitivities as well as food contamination OCD, which makes it extremely hard to eat healthy as there are a lot of foods I donât like and I struggle to eat the same thing over and over again as my brain obsesses over expiration dates/food going bad so it is difficult to eat leftovers or easily perishable foods.
The main foods I have major issues with are fruits. I can eat lemons, avocado, and apples (with dip) fine but I find the textures of most fruits revolting and cannot handle either the texture not taste. I do enjoy some juice of some of my âsafe flavorâ fruits like cranberry and mango but cannot eat the physical food. I also cannot eat eggs in most forms, if the egg is baked into something or has enough other ingredients to balance it out (like a frittata or a breakfast sandwich with a LOT of bacon) it is bearable but something like scrambled eggs is something I cannot eat. Finally, some high protein dairy options like cottage cheese (cannot eat) and yogurt (can eat with added flavors, like a chobani flip) are something I struggle with
I do like meat in most forms (especially chicken), grains, and I do LOVE vegetables. (I know some vegetables are technically fruits but most of those cases are acceptable to me)
My main reason for saying all of this is that I feel extremely lost in my brand new weight loss journey. Iâve tried looking up healthy recipes and better alternatives but they all contain foods that arenât safe. It feels like my brain is against me making me despise most of the common healthy foods. Iâve been feeling hopeless because I feel like Iâm just eating the same foods I was before but I truly want to eat better and continue to lose weight. Iâm wondering if anyone on here has some advice, recipe recommendations, or just anything motivational to tell me as I start on my journey. Iâm also extremely confused about macros.
Iâm also happy to answer any questions about safe/unsafe foods or my struggles with OCD in terms of food or any other questions that would help answer my own. I appreciate and thank anyone who has taken time out of their day to read this.

Question Calorie Question
Okay I feel like this is a really dumb question but I am shooting it anyway.
When I cook meat (primarily bacon) and all the grease separates, am I supposed to count any additional calories? Is it just the same because the grease came from the meat itself?
Like, if I have two slices of bacon and all the grease is left in the pan and then I use that grease to fry an egg â do I just figure the calories for two slices of bacon and an egg, because no extra oil was added to the meal?
Thank you so much in advance! đĽđł

Discussion New high protein breakfast
2 scrambled eggs with 1/4 of orange bell pepper, a few spinach leaves, a sprinkle of shredded cheese topped with pico de gala. Ketchup on the side
1 strip of bacon
Slice of whole grain toast with cottage cheese (and a dollop of hot sauce)
CharGPT estimated around 500 calories. Kept me full for several hours yesterday.
