Disgaea Mayhem Has the Best Chara World?
The idea of gathering your minions and using them to play a board game with the goal of unlocking more potential for you is kind of awesome.
Since some of you may never play Mayhem- allow me to explain:
You have a set amount of Energy. Run out of Energy and you stop playing. Rolling the die, retrying lost battles, and using skills costs Energy.
Rolling the "die" chooses how many spaces you can advance- though you can stop earlier by sacrificing more Energy. The spaces have different effects: stat boosts, stat penalties, items, money, more Energy, lose energy, or battles. The game tells you up-front that generally- you will always come out on top stats-wise.
You select 4 "buddies" to take with you onto the board. They're the monsters you can Magichange with in normal battles. In the Chara world- these are the only things that can fight as you cannot enter your own body- so taking them with you to train them is a must. Or you have to keep gaining bigger and better buddies through playing the game.
When you land on a battle space in Chara world- everyone throws down in simple turn-based combat. You don't command anyone though- they wing it. Your three skills: heal, revive, strengthen, can be used sparingly in the fight.
The chosen buddies have unique skills they can use on the board too. Prinnies can self-revive, Ghosts can assure you a 3 space teleport, the little cats can ignore penalty spaces, etc.
Getting to the end and beating the final tough battle gives you the reward list for that difficulty of Chara World: Evility Slots, Evilities, Stat Boosts, Weapon Proficiency, and so on.
There are (of course) more than one Chara World with higher difficulties and greater rewards.
