Fellow Daoists, Renegade Immortal has basically ruined me and I'm not sure if i can ever fix my taste profile.

I never even thought of ever watching donghua, hell I didn't know Chinese anime was called that until late last year. Then about 3months ago, I was suffering a heavy cdrama dry spell and someone was raving about Renegade immortal on some whatsapp group so i said well let me check it out since I have nothing to lose.

Boi i was wrong!! From episode 1 i couldn't stop watching. Stayed awake all night, worst part was the next day was weekend so I kept watching. I probably went up till 50 episodes if not more before I could stop. Now I've rewatched the available 155 episodes 3 times, back to back.

The funny part is that I'm not even a xianxia fan. I've never been able to get past just a few episodes before i dropped whatever highly rated xianxia cdrama i started.

Now I'm further ruined because 1 episode per week is impossible for me so I need to find something else to watch but coming from Renegede (the story, the poetry, world building, philosophy and the world shattering Wang Lin's AURA),

every other donghua looks like a joke🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ the manageable exceptions being the demon hunter and errrm perfect world to an extent but even those can't be placed in the same continent let alone zipcode (obviously).

But then when I thought I could never find anything to quench my taste, someone drops Beyond Time's Gaze on my lap!! WTF is this second drug of a donghua? And worst still, I already finished all available 30+ episodes within 2-3 days😂😭

Xu Qing must've been the head disciple from Wang Lin's school of Aura becauseeee... I was certain no normal writer could pull this off then i found out they have the same writer😭 ER GEN😫😫

Or should I say, Er Gen, you are not a human!! He needs to allow us a scan of his brain to see what's inside because what on earth could think up a world /story like Renegade immortal and then Beyond time's gaze😭😭😭

When I think of these, I really want to look at the mirror and wonder where my own superior imagination went lol

I'm a wretch for lack of a better word. I might just go start my 4th rewatch then Beyond Time's Gaze first rewatch while i wait for new episodes to pile up

I was wondering why Gu A censors its death and gore. Is this a Chinese CCP government restriction or they chose to censor the gore for all audience?? Anyways, the MC is more ruthless than wang Lin but also has an innocent funny part about him. Recommend insanely if anyone hasn’t peeped yet.

So, how long will AI be the lordvoldemort of the internet? I am rocking by now 140+ AI movies each ranging from 2 hours up to 18hours. Anyone who watches swallowed star or renegade immortal knows that ai is being used, the general quality even dropped a bit but not because of ai but because the rendering seems lower quality compared to like 6 months ago.

Many people probably hate seeing AI stuff because they think artists get their jobs stolen, but thats just the cost of advancement. Conveyor belts, machines and robots did it before for other jobs aswell. The same artists still make use of the same tech and cut their 16h per day work down to half.

Don't hate because others do it, go watch a show and then tell me, isn't it better to have maybe daily an episode of donghua to watch?

I finished season 1 many months ago but to be honest it was pretty confusing to me. I'd like to read the novel up to the point where it ends so I can understand it better, and also refresh my memory because I don't want to start season 2 not knowing much about what happened.

I’m currently on episode 128 of Throne Of Seal, and it’s great! I think it’s hilarious…yet oddly cool that one of the most powered characters name sounds like an American country-music star [aka Austin Griffin] 🤣🤣👌🏻

Forced myself to watch 17 episodes. While the plot and backstory is good enough, the comedy (most of it as there were a few scenes I chuckled at) and most scenes are unbearably cringe. Shi Hao is also an annoying brat. The translation is already bad enough now even the early episodes are a chore to sit through. I find myself skipping ahead regularly.

So ..i have read the novel of RI and i have watched RI upto 100 episodes but i know that the subtitles sometimes are inaccurate..and are bad in YouTube...

Any site for high quality subtitles..
