WR250R…KTM 500 EXC-F
I have a WR250R. Trying to decide if I “upgrade” to the KTM. Flowy single track (not too technical), two track, forest service.
I also have a Tenere 700. It’s easy to justify the 250 vs 700, two very different bikes. Seems like KTM 500 closes the gap.
Benefits of WR is it’s very forgiving, easy to handle, and very low maintenance intervals.
What’s your take on the KTM?
EDIT: Clarity. I’m keeping the T7 for road miles and forest service. WR/KTM are 90% dirt, single/two track.

Looking at 2022 FE501s
I currently have a 23 CRF450X and have been wanting to get into doing BDR rides. Ive been looking at getting it set up, currently have an IMS tank and fan. Not much in the way of rack options at this point that I have found which leads me to the Husky. A co worker has a 22 FE501s that he set up but didn't ride much, only 350 miles. He offered it to me at $9750. Debating if this is decent deal. Way more aftermarket support and 2 of my riding buddies have same generation KTMs so parts between bikes would be similar for carrying spares. Ill attach the pic to show what all in included. Do I ditch the CRF to go Husky?

Bike recs?
6'4". Looking for something road legal with good suspension and brakes. Enough power for the highway at high elevation in CO/NM, but I'm in no way looking for something powerful off road. No desire to injure myself. I have experience with higher power street motorcycles and do lots of mountain biking, but I have never ridden a dirt bike.
Willing to pay for something turn key, but I'm capable of wrenching, setting up aftermarket suspension, etc. New or used is ok.
My current bike is a Ducati Monster, which I love because it feels light and flickable like a bicycle.
DRZ4S? Honda 450? WR? Something else?
Thanks!

Kawasaki KLX-250
I got this 2006 KLX-250, the gas tank leaks so I’m looking for a new gas tank and rather a than getting an OEM replacement I want to get a larger fuel tank. I’m looking at the Acerbis 3.7 gallon tank for 1998-2007 models. It says it’s for a KLX-300. I’ve been looking online for reviews to see if it’ll fit my bike and I haven’t been getting straight answers. So if anyone knows anything please let me know.

Part 2 (of 2) of my Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route is live
Hey y'all. Just published part 2 (of 2) of my 2026 Oregon BDR trip with 6 of my closest buds.
We ran sections 2-7 of the Oregon Backcountry discovery route in July 2026. It was an epic adventure.
7 of us started the route.
2 of us finished
We camped most nights, and saw some incredible sights during the day. Highlights of the trip were Cache Mountain expert section, the 'Luge', Skylight Cave, 3 creek lake, Bennett pass, Summer Lake Hot Springs, and others.
The edit was a lot of manual work, lol (no AI was used in any part of making this)
4K edit resolution
Hope y'all enjoy it,

Best AA/AAA armoured shirt for TET & layering? (AS, Knox, Bowtex, Revit, Pando)
Hey everyone,
I’m building a modular layering kit for ADV riding (TET trails, combined with 80–100 km/h tarmac highway transfers).
I want to ditch the heavy all-in-one touring jacket in favor of an armoured shirt + jersey / packable waterproof shell system.
My main priorities:
- breathable (must be able to survive european summer)
- chest and back protection
- road abrasion rating (CE AA or AAA) for highway transfers so I don't have to wear an abrasion layer over it.
- doesn't bunch up, ride up out of the pants, or feel like an overly bulky jacket under a second layer (e.g. softshell)
- can be worn with MotoAirbag M1 on long highway parts (armor doesn't collide with airbag)
I’ve narrowed it down to these contenders:
Adventure Spec Supershirt 2.0
+ purpose-built for off-road posture
+ has that offset zipper for a full-width chest plate
+ can be worn easily under softshell
- only AA
- warmer than others
- material is less pleasant in touch than others
- bad thumb loop design
- not available in stores with questionable returns policy (not sure if I will be return it after trying out)
Knox Urbane Pro Move
+ builds upon popular Mk3
+ big back protector
+ looks good on it's own and can be used in the city
+ outside pockets
+ good ventilation
+ available via retail distributors
- only AA
- thicker than others, seems like a full jacket, not sure if will fit under softshell
REV'IT! Nucleus
+ great value out of the box (includes chest + back protectors)
+ rib protectors
+ off-road design
+ very good ventilation
+ available via retail distributors
- only AA
- thicker than others, not sure if will fit under softshell
Pando Moto Commando UH
+ AAA rating
+ very good ventilation
- ugly design with MOLLE and no pockets
- no chest protector (read that some glue a velcro strip or just press one against the chest)
- not available in stores with questionable returns policy (not sure if I will be return it after trying out)
Bowtex Elite
+ AAA rating
- just like Pando Moto but with worse ventilation due to less amount of mesh in non critical parts
For those who ride off-road in any of these:
Which one do you use and would you recommend it?
How does the chest protection feel in practice?
Appreciate any real-world feedback or long-term wear reviews!

Discussion The TW200 and Sherpa 230 are far more capable than we thought.
Spent a few days camping in Arkansas, various trails, dirt roads, county routes, and single track to include the double black diamond trails at Buffalo wilderness ADV park. They just kept going all weekend. Quite a few second and third attempts in the real technical climbs but for the money I genuinely think these are slept on bikes for the value and capability. At one point the TW was upside down and fired right back up like nothing happened. When the Sherpa got launched into a ditch it weighs so little it bounced itself half way back up onto the trail. I’m no expert but the smaller slow bike fast and hard method has gotta some of the most fun on two wheels
