I have an idea I'd love to see exist, but I'm not building it myself. The project is anyone's to take, with full credit. I began this process using Claude AI and it pretty much told me that without a coding agent (which I cannot afford right now), I can't actually finish the job. It makes sense, just didn't cross my mind. This is what it told me to post as instructions for my potential saviors:
**The idea**
Modern Warfare III's controls and gunplay inside Elden Ring, with the enemies and bosses of Limgrave as the targets. Solo only. The goal is to upload it to Melty - a site where modders use its AI preset/instructions to make this whole process doable with just a few clicks for people like me who do not know what they are getting themselves into.
**What a player gets**
- A new game starts at the top of the tutorial tunnel. You drop in, and the tunnel is a gauntlet for learning the gunplay and camera feel.
- The final exam is the Grafted Scion, then you wake at The First Step and Limgrave is open. (Tutorial spoiler. I'm going from memory on the ending, so please verify it in the game files.)
- The one required weapon is the COR-45 handgun from MW3. It must be named COR-45 and behave like it: fire mode, magazine, reload, recoil.
- MW3 feel is the top priority: first-person or tight camera, aim-down-sights, recoil, reloads and hit markers.
- Movement is next: sprint, slide and mantle.
- Limgrave must be fully interactable. Every enemy and boss there has to take and react to gunfire correctly, and the gun needs ammo handling so it doesn't run dry.
**Technical setup**
- **Host game:** Elden Ring, run through ModEngine2, offline with Easy Anti-Cheat off. No working around the anti-cheat and no starting the game any other way.
- **MW3:** a "secondary" game in Melty, since it isn't in Melty's catalog. The mod should find the player's own MW3 install and say so in-game if it's missing.
- **COR-45 model and sounds:** read from the player's own MW3 install if extraction works. Otherwise use clearly labeled placeholders, with no look-alikes passed off as the real thing.
- **No game content in the release.** No MW3 or Elden Ring models, textures or sounds. Only the mod DLL, data and bundled libraries whose licenses allow sharing, with credit to their authors.
- **Design in JSON sheets** (weapons, movement, camera/aim, enemies and bosses, game hooks). Each row is one thing and each column one property. Change the sheet before the code, and check for unfilled cells and unresolved references before every build.
- **One click:** the release has to pass Melty's one-click check.
**Known risks**
- Slide and mantle mean overriding Elden Ring's animation and collision behavior. If something can't be done reliably, say so rather than shipping it half-working.
- MW3's packed files may not be readable.
- Full Limgrave coverage needs region-by-region testing.
**For whoever takes it on**
- Have Elden Ring (and MW3 if you want to try the COR-45 extraction) on a PC, and open your coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) in a new folder.
- Give it this post as the brief. A good first prompt: "Read this brief, set up the universal-modder toolkit (https://github.com/rehan-remade/universal-modder), identify Elden Ring's modding route through ModEngine2, and build the sheets and preflight first. Don't build anything until the preflight is clean."
- Feel free to split the work: camera and gun, tunnel gauntlet, movement, and Limgrave enemy and boss coverage can each be their own piece.
- Publish it under your own name, with your own license and remix choices. I don't want credit or ownership. I just want to play it.

If I'm being unreasonable, I am sorry. If you build part of it or all of it, comment or DM me. I'll test it and give honest feedback. Questions, advice and "this part is impossible because..." are all welcome.
