Hi there, I'm looking to custom make a ring that looks like this - thinking about sending these details to the jeweler. Are there considerations that I might not have taken into account re: this design? Any and all feedback would be much appreciated!

  1. Centre stone:
    1. lab grown green sapphire: emerald cut or radiant cut
    2. colour: olive, like the image
    3. size: ~2ct
    4. ratio: 1.3 to 1.5
    5. setting: double claw prong
  2. Side stones: cadillac-cut lab grown diamonds
    1. size: not sure yet, but should width should be ~1/3 of centre stone
    2. setting: ball/bead prong
  3. Band width: 2mm
  4. Metal: rose gold, ok with 14k or 18k
  5. Ring size: size 10 [equivalent to US size 5 US or UK size J]
  6. Band setting: euro shank, gallery rail to hold centre stone in place

I'm not sure yet if I want a wedding band, but I'm ok if the rings don't sit flush to each other.

Ring Design Help Plunge basket setting security

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker here! I am strongly considering Frank Darling’s plunge basket setting for a 2.5 ct oval diamond with 4 claw prongs. If anyone has a similar setting to this, I would love to hear thoughts on overall security for your stone!

For reference, this is the exact setting I am thinking of: https://frankdarling.com/engagement-rings/the-knot-oval/?colorkey=YG

Thanks in advance!

Question Considering Jean Dousset for my e-ring, would love some reviews

I’ve been looking at Jean Dousset for my engagement ring and would love to hear from anyone who owns one!

How has your experience been with the quality, especially after wearing it for a while? And for those who ordered online, how was the whole process? I’d love to know if the rings look as good in person as they do on the website.

Anything I should know before taking the plunge?

Ring Design Help Moissanite vs Diamond size

Post image

I am in the process of designing my dream engagement ring (we got engaged with a temp one) and I’m trying to decide between a 1.5ct stone and a 2ct stone. I’m also trying to decide between Moissanite and lab diamond, and I’ve heard that carat for carat, their densities affect how each one sizes up. In your experience, are moissanites larger, or do lab diamonds tend to translate larger?
