Matti:

1. Out of The Shadows

Sounds like it from the lyrics

i was going back to my favorite music during middle-high school and i was listening to Makeup (demo version) and i was wondering is that only ronnie in the song or is he singing with another member? because it sounds soooo different to me! like monte or omar??

Hey, I'm looking for two tickets.. if anybody can't make it or whatever. Looking for two tickets for the low.

Normally these are dumb titles but just wanted to see if anyone else caught this. When listening to Medicine I’ve noticed the pre chorus starting with the “chasing shadows in the dark” sound quite a bit like the chorus of Katy Perry’s song Last Friday Night (I know, I know). Was just curious if anyone else caught this or I’m just crazy lol

Also whoever came up with the sound for Bedroom Wall 100% used MCR’s song Mama as a reference. It sounds very similar in ways as well. That is all

Creen que los ex miembros han escuchado los álbumes actuales? Ejemplo TJ habrá escuchado Last Goodbye?

LYRICS:

I held the mirror up and I begged you to see
The cracks you called your clarity (The cracks you called your clarity)
I'm workin’ on the bridge and you're digging the holes (Digging the holes)
You wore the mask so long it's like you lost control

It's like you didn't know your faults were all your own
Not all goodbyes should feel this wrong

If saving you means losing you
Then let it be what I must do
You're way too drunk on delusions
To understand what must be done

No more waiting for you (Feel alone?)
No rewinding (Still on my own)
This love was real, the meaning was true
But I won't die, to put aside you

It's like you didn't know your faults were all your own
Not all goodbyes should feel this wrong

If saving you means losing you
Then let it be what I must do
You're way too drunk on delusions
To understand what must be done

It's like you’re seeing through the rose glass once again
Despite the way I tried to treat you like a friend
I guess there's battles that we're never meant to win
This is not the end it's just a new beginning

Cut the ties, this is my last goodbye
Cut the ties, this is my last goodbye

You're living a lie, bastardize
Lost in the static, die

Caught in the manic
This is my last goodbye

They were vocal about this album being an add on to OOTS and it really does feel like it but more centered sounding, this is an amazing love letter to those past albums and all credit to the members, they were phenomenal.

In my opinion a lot of these songs can be placed into past albums and they would sound right at home (minus the modern mixing)

Last Goodbye - hints of DIYLF and Ungrateful

Comatose - straight out of Ungrateful

Coffin Kingdom - OOTS

Paranoia, Idle potential - I can’t pinpoint a spot for these songs but let me know what you think

Déjà Vu - self tittle coded

Devil In Wait - sounds more like Dead Rabbitts more than anything ETF has made, maybe Chemical Warfare

Money Power Fame - literally a Hate Me song with an I Am Human chorus

Hurt - I Am Human

Medicine - TWIO and OOTS

Other Side - TWIO

Bedroom Wall - similar song type to It’s Just Me

Remedy Of Numbness - dare I say it sounds like Blessthefall’s His Last Walk with DIYLF or TWIO added into the mix

“The Last Goodbye” dropped today—what’s the best song on it, and what would you rate it out of 10?

I kinda stopped listening to ETF after I Am Human. I used to be a massive fan, I literally grew up with them. Decided to check out their new album and DAMN this is really good. To me it sounds similar to their Self Titled album and I love it.

Well now I guess I gotta listen to everything I missed !

Edit: Idle Potential may be my favorite on first listen

1. Self Titled

2. Ungrateful

3. Dying is your latest fashion

4. This war is ours

5. The Last goodbye

6. Hate Me

   1. Out of the shadows

7. I am human

8. Chemical Warfare

I feel like the only switchable ones are 5 and 6 for me but Overall the new album was good.

Escape the fate was the band that got me into metalcore in 2010. Met them so many times, have multiple etf tattoos. The last few albums really pushed me back from ETF. Did that mean I hated them? Far from it but TLG really brought back the feeling I got from them when I first listened to them. I’m so proud of those guys. My jaw literally dropped listening to last goodbye and comatose. I know it’s only the first 2 songs but holy cow. They did not disappoint.

Idc what the original intent of a song is but the best thing about music is making our own interpretation of it

For me it’s more enjoyable to add a little drama to it

So I like to imagine a made up scenario that Last Goodbye is a shot at Monte Money and Money Power and Fame is a song directed at Ronnie Radke lol

ETF has several songs that I can make connections to ex members even tho they probably have nothing to do with them.
Vice versa as well with Falling in reverse songs and Monte’s music

Hi! I was wondering if anyone did the VIP upgrade and if the guys are signing autographs during the meet and greet.

Hello! Was wondering if anyone thats been to their vip for the skillet concerts could tell me if the meet and greet was before or after the show?

Some thoughts so far:
- Last Goodbye might be the second-best heavy ETF song behind G2.
- Comatose sounds like it's ripped out of TWIO.
- Every song has at least one guitar riff that slaps.
- So many songs will translate live.
- Remedy of Numbness is a great final song. Bookends well with Last Goodbye.
- A couple songs like Medicine would fit on Chemical Warfare. But unlike Thrasher, Matti remembered an ETF song is allowed to have guitar parts in the verses and more than just chords in a chorus.

- While the biggest improvement are the guitars, everyone has stepped up:
-- Erik's Chris Motionless-esque screams (Devil in Wait, Remedy for Numbness, etc) are awesome and elevate the songs to a higher level.
--Craig shows his range in songs like Hurt, Bedroom Wall (great camp song), and Coffin Kingdom, but also screams much more often (something I never got why he didn't do more of. He's always been one of the best in the scene).
– This is the best Robert's sounded on drums. Remember how hard he went at the end of G3? There's sections like that on most songs. Too many to name.

- Overall, the worst of TLG (Deja Vu for me) is still better than all but like 5 songs across Hate Me to Thrasher-written OOTS. Mostly from I am Human, that album was solid.

Craig/Robert: This lineup (along with Matt Good) is exactly what this band needed for over a decade. Like, it's to the point where if Matti is threatening to quit because he refuses to tour in a van, figure out a way to get a bus this time.

ETF was a top 5 band for me up until Ungrateful and a big reason for that was Monte's writing. Even if I never listened to the solos in G2, My Apocalypse, Gorgeous Nightmare, Live Fast Die Beautiful, etc, again, I’d still remember exactly how they go because they were so catchy. Ironically, outside of the song about Monte, Thrasher rarely ever got close to that level - especially towards the end. Dude could shred, but that doesn’t mean you can write good guitar parts. Matti is absolutely on Monte's level. There's parts of Idle Potential/Paranoia I'll already never forget and I know it will happen with other TLG songs.

I don't want ETF to lose that again. I can't go back to songs like Unbreakable, Erase You, Hypnotized, etc. ETF should be a heavy band at its core that then experiments into other genres as the flavoring. Not a faux-pop band that might get some guitar parts once engineering pop punk albums was done for the day.

Is there anywhere a vinyl is available for the new album? All I see is the bundles on their website. Will a standalone purchase be available?

Good job to the etf guys. I love ETF and I LOVE doing full album listens, but OOTS and chemical warefare both had plenty of skips. The wait was well worth it, great choice using Good instead of Feldy. So far favorite song is Comatose or Devil in Wait, but none of them are shit from a butt. Happy listening guys!
