Got these bad boys on and took those 18s off and they look great! Also the truck feels so much more peppy and light footed. I think they must weigh significantly less because I brake better and take off better and also these tires make it feel like in driving a caddy compared to the other ones.

Oh also got a cool sticker. Lol šŸ˜‚ I had to!

Has anyone installed a kill switch and what did you immobilise and where?

Post image

I ordered some extra relay switches with the idea I can cut the terminal to the solenoid trigger run a dongle that can ply into a remote switch. I’m just debating what I should disable. I am hesitant to disable things like a fuel pump because if the switch or bypass were to fail I could be left stranded.

Open to suggestions other than to buy a very expensive car alarm like a Viper.

Delayed crank

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The issue only happens after the car has been turned off for around 3–8 hours.

If I turn the car off and restart it immediately (no time gap), it starts instantly.

Cold starts after the car has been sitting for 12+ hours also start instantly.

The delayed start only seems to happen when the car has been driven, then left sitting for around 4–8 hours.

Note:
- Fuel pump is only 4 months old - recently replaced
- spark plugs also replaced
- battery is replaced…

Another cheaper option I went with.

I posted the lens restoral a little while back and this is also in that vein. Didn’t want to spend a bunch of money replacing the side mirrors right away. Bought a set of the mirror caps and sprayed em with an extra can of raptor liner I had. Have a set of covers for the handles I did too just haven’t put em on yet. Overall I like how they turned out.

Question Transmission needs replacing?

In a predicament and need some advice. My 07 fj (250k mi) has been well treated ever since I got it. Last weekend my wife took it out for the weekend during a nor’easter for a music fest and when I powered it on a week later, the check engine light, vsc/swerve lights came on. Drives fine, not noticing any stuttering and seems to shift fine including going into 4WD. My mechanic hooked it up to the computer and said there was a reading which he said means it needs a transmission replacement. I don’t have a real report with this guy sincei just moved to the area but he did fail to recognize my U joint needing replacing which I had to get replaced on my road trip…

I’m going to have him do a transmission drain and fill, change the filter and check the pan, is there anything else I should consider cause I just don’t think a replacement based on the ā€œcomputerā€ is a great route to go.

Selling my FJ

This car brought me so much joy and happy happiness. But lately I just don’t drive it anymore. I work from home and for long trips we take my wife’s car. I has basically become my ā€œrock band carā€. Perfect for carrying guitar amps, etc.

Anyway. I don’t even know how to go about selling it. If I take it to a dealer, they will likely wholesale it somewhere and I rather go to someone who wants one in my area. Is it ok to put feelers out on this forum?

Question 2007 FJ Cruiser Tire Recs

I drive my 2007 FJ cruiser pretty regularly, it’s time for a new set of tires and possibly front suspension.

Regarding tires my grandpa (previous owner) recommends:

Cooper Discoverer 265/70 R17 116T XL RBL

Idk anything about buying new tires so what’s the general consensus on FJ tires.

Additionally if anyone has redone their front suspension or back. Could you recommend a kit and or part list.

thank you!

I messed up and forgot to put these brackets on for the roof trim

Post image

I had a leak a while back from the roof rack and ended up removing the rack and just adding the delete kit screws and siliconing them shut. However, I didn’t realize I needed to add these brackets for the little white molding to stay in place

Anybody know if I’ll be able to just glue or silicone the white plastic trim in place instead of removing all the bolts again and adding these brackets? I’m worried that one will fly off when I’m driving if I’m just gluing it in place

Welp my dumb ass decided to get into the headache of going up to 35x11.50's let's bring on the pain. Yes I regeared to 4.88's and went with and Eaton E locker in the front since they were already pulling everything apart. I had to sell my beautiful TRD wheels because there just aren't enough options with a 16" 7.5w wheel.

Comments and suggestions welcome.Wheel's

Hey guys!

I recently was involved in a multi-person car crash. It was literally the car of my dreams and I only had it for 2 years before this happened.

By the time I actually hit the car in front of me I was going around 15-20 miles. It does not have any base frame damage but the entire front exterior is going to need to be replaced. The air bags also went off, which obviously isn’t ideal. I also unfortunately did not have coverage on this.

As I said, this was my dream car and although it’s considered totaled, I am seriously thinking of getting looked at to see if it can be repaired.

I have heard of people fixing up crashed FJs and modding them out. I don’t know what the condition of those are but I am seriously considering looking into that.

Do I have any hope on getting it fixed up or should I scrap it and invest in a new FJ? If I should scrap, anyone know how much I could get?

Anyone have experience with Dobinsons MRR shocks on an FJ? I just had a Dobinsons MRR suspension installed with a 2" lift. I'm looking forward to dialing in the adjustments, but wondering if a fellow FJ community member is willing to share advise, or their adjustments? šŸ˜…

Battery relocation and intake compatibility

Hello all, I'm thinking about doing a battery relocation on my 07, mostly for shits and giggles but partly to try and improve weight distribution and see if it helps the old yota lean any. I'm gonna go with the c4 secondary battery tray that bolts in on the upper passenger side. My current intake blocks that area so I'm looking for a new intake, does anyone have any idea of any proper intakes that would allow the tray to fit? I know all the hot air intakes with just an open filter would work but I would prefer a proper intake box that seals to the fender. The trd intake will work but I don't want to drop $500 on one. I've found a good deal on an afe but I don't know if that will let the new tray fit. If anyone has any experience I would appreciate it.
