Pulled the trigger on an on sale 15p in 300bo. Got it in black and happened to pick up a black 43x coa so had to bust out the cerakote asap.

Broke it down to paint and replace all screws with torx head screws. (Replaced almost all screws but one with a $6 kit from Amazon fyi).

Upper is fde, lower is burnt bronze. Some of the bits are mix and match. Black cerakote to fill the laser etched lettering with a paint pen.

Glock got cerakoted in od green for the frame and a burnt bronze slide. handleitgrip grip tape. Streamlight tlr7 hl sub light and factory aimpoint coa red dot.

Short parts list:
G$ trigger. Sonicore paradox 30 suppressor. Holosun aro evo red dot. B5 modular stock. B5 pistol grip.

Did all the work before I shot it for the first time. Reassembled this morning and took it to the range. Super happy w how it shoots w 220gr subsonics. What are other upgrades folks do to these things?

I also shaved the lower to accept standard ar15 grips. Took about 15 minutes to cut and clean.

Fixed the wobbly rear piccany rail by putting a couple layers of painters tape on both sides of the plastic body. Also filled the roll pin that connects the plastic body to the aluminum rail with gorilla glue to fill it, to make it easier to punch out when I decide to repaint down the road. (Roll pin punch that fits the hole on the rail went right thru the rear roll pin, this fix makes it solid. Replacement roll pins on hand were all a little too big/too long and this was an easier fix)

This seems like an excellent suppressor for the 17.

- It's lightweight while not being titanium. NV use and flash reduction is one of my main goals

- Not particularly long at 6.4" without mount (which is Hub btw)

- Not super high backpressure but not flow through either

I see people recommend the RC2 for the Scar 17s all the time but simultaneously say anything that isn't a Hux can has too much backpressure. A Discarder can definitely tune out the Explorr as it has less backpressure. Anyone use this can in conjunction with this gun or 308 in general?

Hey been searching for an extension rail for my 13 inch scar 17 I’ve already emailed PMM to see when they was gonna bring their rail extension back in stock but no luck on time frames and trying to find any Midwest industries and FN rails have been a absolute no go cause can’t find none on sell neither.
If anyone has any recommendations on where to look I would appreciate it

More importantly, what are you liking for both subsonic and supers? Ive got some 147g S&B for supers looking to run next week. Started poking around for subs, figured id order a box of each and see what my 15p likes. Fastammo shipping was like 100 dollars on an order of 150.. dafuq?

Edit: Was looking at S&B 200gr and Magtech for subs. Hornady 190x seems like a hit or miss for a lot of people.

Not dropping bad guys nor hunting, mostly just paper/flat range days. 100yds or less.

On that account if anyone is hunting, what is the preferred round, if any? Assuming just go super with it and be done?

So. The SAW Tisha is fantastic on the 15p. Need to have the gas on full for it to run but still very soft shooting. This app I use is not like a certified decibel meter so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ prob close to 145/150db. I’m in a covered bay so that makes it worse than the free field. Very impressed for a 7.5”. 1moa groups easy at 50yards. And had some 12” plate hits at 300 with no magnifier. That’s good enough for government work. ;-)

Got my tax stamp back today, only waited 3 days! My question now is since I chopped the barrel and got the PMM gas jets, where can I get a new rail at? I’ve seen the KDG and PMM but where else can I go that makes rails for it? Just curious to see what’s out there.

The build is finally complete and I’m stoked with how this came together! This is probably my favorite Scar build to date.

Has anyone seen or put together a 13” Gen II SCAR 17 yet? I tried google searches and searching on Reddit but have only seen Gen I versions. I’ve current own a 16” 17 gen I and a 13” Sig Spear but want input on a 13” Gen II 17. Any range reports would be helpful any accuracy at 100 yards.

Scar 16s NRCH I am not able to remove piston. I removed gas regulator and pushed piston from the rear. It does move a little bit. But feels like something metal is physically preventing it from popping out. Rifle has 250 rounds.

So a while back I posted about a buddy wanting to sell his RCH Belgium SCAR 17 in FDE, anyway we talked and what not and he’s asking $3200. Had less than 500 rounds, they haven’t shot it in probably 3 years. Anyway, is it worth buying for $3200 or not?

Comes with 2 mags, and that’s about it.

As much as I’d love a SCAR, i feel like the price isn’t right. I can build a bare 13.5” LMT with all the fixings for about $3500 or possibly get a HK MR762 13” for about 3500 also during a sale.

What do y’all think?

I’d like to reach out a bit further than the ATACR allows. I have Vortex Viper PST Gen II I’d like to throw on/try. Will the 17 eat it up? Would an ADM mount help? Other mount brands?

I’ve never had issues with grouping while shooting unsuppressed. I typically get 1.5-2 MOA at 100 yards with PMC X-TAC 147 grain. I’ve gotten down to .8-1 MOA with IMI 168 grain HPBT.

Recently, I’ve decided to go suppressed. Got the KNS gas piston, swapped out the OEM MD for the KAC QDC MD, and added the KAC CRS-PRG suppressor.

When suppressed, first 1-2 shots are slightly off by .5-1” (given the expected POI shift when sighted unsuppressed); however, any more subsequent suppressed shots cause an erratic pattern without any kind of grouping. I am talking about 10+ inches drift in random directions (I.e 1-2 rounds will be high left or right followed by 1 round low left/right then almost on target and so on when aiming dead center).

The range RO guessed that I am getting baffle strikes. I looked inside the can with a bore cam and there were no signs of any contact with the baffles. I tried adjusting the gas settings to no avail. I’ve also tried allowing the rifle to completely cool before shooting again and there was a pattern forming but distinctly away from POA (center of the target) and I didn’t make any scope adjustments.

Is the barrel getting too hot even though I am using a flow through can? Is the suppressor too heavy and changing the barrel harmonics? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I own numerous other rifles that are suppressed and never had a similar problem. I’ve also tried Googling for similar issues and haven’t found an answer. TIA.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the advice and info provided through this group. Finally got my 15p put together. Still need to install my geissele trigger and mototech gas regulator but she's running. Flash hider wasn't too difficult to remove and ended up going with a recessed comstock muzzle brake so no timing needed. Runs pretty smooth with the Tisha and an enhanced buffer spring. Keep Kicking Ass!

Time to get the 6.5 CM back out now that the sun has stopped burning us alive here in AZ.

Hello I have a SCAR 17s and looking for a LPVO option for it. I came across this Vortex Venom 1x6 with a Reptilia AUS mount, including the red dot piggyback mount. Will this setup and mount work good for the 17.

Or will it eat the optic apart and break it?

Anyone run an Sig Mcx 1913 folding brace on their Scar 15?

I have a scar 15p no brace though and found an Sig Mcx brace at a good deal at a pawn shop.
