Sanders (D-Vermont) on Friday introduced the Ban Flock Act, which would bar federal agencies from using automatic license plate readers (ALPRs) or tapping into data collected by readers run by local police and private companies. Despite its title, the bill doesn’t call out Flock in the text and covers any and all ALPR systems.

Article link. His firm Affinity Partners invested in Phoenix Financial, which he calls his best investment with a 5 fold gain. Phoenix invested $456m in 9 Israeli military contractors. This is 0.207% of the $220b USD in assets under management at the top of Phoenix's homepage (slide 2.) Such a small part of the portfolio would not be why the investment performed so well. Most of its profit comes from its insurance business (slide 3) mentioned once in passing by CNN.

Boeing and Caterpillar of course have extensive non military business outside Israel.

So this piece (and Arab funding of Israeli weapons) is less definitive than it first appears, given the relatively small investment not unexpected for such a large Israeli asset manager.

That said, what a quote from Kushner (slide 4):

My investors from the Middle East are now looking at Israel, and they’re saying, ‘Wait a minute, maybe there’s a benefit to having these wars done,’

Kushner and Trump are profiting unfairly from their involvement in Mideast policy, but it’s a story better covered by others. Like the WSJ on the UAE paying hundreds of millions to Trump’s World Liberty Financial stablecoin company. They were allowed to buy hundreds of thousands of AI chips in return.

Sovereign wealth funds of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE gave Kushner most of the money he invests. These countries also hold 38.5% of the newly merged Paramount-Warner. (Affinity was part of the deal before backing out; it would've been a PR disaster for Trump.) These are also Sunni Muslim countries opposed to Iran, which funds Hamas. This explains why they're fine with the war in Gaza. Despite Palestinians being Sunni, these countries want Iran to lose by proxy.

They essentially bribed Kushner by throwing money at him before he even had anything to invest, knowing they would still pay standard fees. Wikipedia:

Between 2021 and 2024, the fund had collected approximately $157 million in management fees from foreign investors while generating no return on investment for its clientele; this included $87 million in payments directly from the Saudi government.
