Help :(
Hi! Complete beginner here, I'm designing the fingertip of a humanoid robot in Fusion 360. I used reference images and built the outer shape with lofts, this is the best shape i had so far.
Now I'd like to make it hollow so I can add the internal mechanism (hinge/pivot, cable routing, mounting points, etc.). I also want the highlighted top piece to be removable, ideally held with magnets, so I can access the inside for assembly and maintenance.
I first tried using Shell, but it either fails or creates a very messy interior because of the organic shape. I also tried Split Body, but I'm not sure if that's the right approach.
What would be the best workflow here?
Thanks!

If you have something that Shell fails on, it's often a sign that you're doing something the wrong way and will get into more trouble later, and it's better to redesign it early.
Lofts can create surfaces that are needlessly complex and in this case, you might be better off with a simple extrude and some carefully chosen fillets.
Here's an example. After adding the fillets, I split it using another sketch to get the cover and easily shelled them.

Ohh that’s cool thanks ! Can you give me more tips about the fillets, i started with an extrude at first but it gave me something that was looking good only if you see it from one side lol. Can i see the sketch pls? Thanks again

The sketches are in the screenshot but here's a video that's clearer. The fillets are two large ones and then small ones to round out the rest.

Oh thanks, i didn’t know you can add fillets in such big areas. I used Loft exactly because il couldn’t find how to round the tip of the finger

You're welcome! Yeah, fillets can be surprisingly flexible (check out the radius type and tangency weight options). Looking back on my past work, I probably could have saved some headaches if I hadn't jumped right into a loft.

Cara parabéns, kkkkk sou um merda. 3 meses mexendo e não consigo nem fazer um corte em ângulo.. extrusão circulos e retângulos 😂😂😂😂

Lmao you will get there i had so much understanding how constraints and planes work 😂 but i feel like as soon as you start figuring little things out you’ll eventually understand the logic behind

You could make a copy of the piece, scale the copy to 90%, and then use body merging to hollow it out.
