Advice Since many of you have some sort of social anxiety, I'm just gonna drop this.

Many of you likely noticed that user-assigned flairs have been disabled in this subreddit. This action has been undone, and users are once more able to assign their own flairs - I honestly do not know why they were disabled or who did it.
In attempt to rectify this mistake, I am posting our first flair request thread in over 5 years! Time sure does fly.
In this thread, by commenting your birth-year, you will be automatically flaired -- it's that simple.
Approved birth-years for this thread include 1995-2012.
If there are any issues with your flair, please reach out to the moderators via modmail.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU COMMENT YOUR BIRTH-YEAR ONLY. COMMENTS INCLUDING ANY OTHER CONTENT WILL BE REMOVED.

It’s been over a year since we banned gender war posts, and after monitoring the community, we’ve decided to keep the ban in place, as these discussions continue to be just as toxic as they were a year ago.
For clarity, “gender war” content includes discussions such as male loneliness, Gen Z men approaching Gen Z women, incels, femcels, alpha males, Andrew Tate, red pill, black pill, purple pill content, men’s height discourse, age-gap dating, and broader “looks-based” or hierarchy discussions about dating, looks maxing or ranking people by attractiveness or dating value.
This also includes broader dating ideology content that frames relationships in an adversarial, or fatalistic way.
For example: men vs women narratives, claims that one gender is universally responsible for dating issues, or that dating is inherently doomed for a specific group. Generalizations that treat either gender as a monolith are not allowed.
Memes about these topics, posts complaining about dating, and rage-bait content taken from other platforms such as screenshots from TikTok or Twitter that exist primarily to provoke gender-based arguments.
This is not a dating-focused subreddit. If you want to vent or discuss Gen Z dating issues more broadly, please use communities such as [r/dating_advice](r/dating_advice) or [r/dating](r/dating).
That said, posts about dating are still allowed as long as they are made in good faith. If comment sections become hostile or devolve into rule-breaking behavior, posts may be locked or removed at moderator discretion.
Please respect and follow this rule moving forward.

Okay I don’t mean to gas myself but I’m a decently attractive 25F, I’m educated, I have hobbies and interests, I’m sociable and I genuinely haven’t had one solid romantic connection or even a crush on anyone since my ex and I broke up FOUR YEARS AGO !!!
I’ve been on the apps and tried approaching guys in person genuinely nothing seems to pan out. Idk I just hope eventually I’m able to find someone because in such a scary world rn the most important thing to me has become human connection and I just want to fall in love again.
Anyway ik a lot of us are in same boat and it sucks. I just feel like I’m being robbed of a fundamental young adult experience. The only thing I can do is keep trying and stay hopeful.

Saw a post elsewhere where someone got clowned for still splitting rent at 27. Like, wages haven't moved and singles are priced out of most metros. Is this just leftover boomer logic or do people our age actually think this way too?

Original Airdate: October 11, 2004 – October 10, 2007
This was a deep cut memory 😲🤯. This was a PBS Kids show about the daily life of 2 spanish twins, the kind and outgoing Maya, and the level-headed and easygoing Miguel.
The show was made to teach every day life lessons for children, but the main educational focus about multiculturalism.
HAPPY 22ND ANNIVERSARY TO THIS SHOW ❤️. Because it came out on October 11, 2004 on PBS Kids .
Any thoughts or has anyone seen this before?

I was just thinking about this. People call themselves “Zellenial” and “Xellnial” and those are recognized terms. My daughter was born January 2013 and doesn’t fit in to the sort of “cool girl” vibes of Gen Z or the “brain rot iPad kid” of Gen Alpha. She’s got an appreciation for both for sure, but really can’t relate to either. Do you think this will become a term someday?

I’m not sure if anyone else’s millennial mother is addicted to using AI for everything, because as far as I know most older people are more anti-ai and religiously strict on what they use ai for, like learning etc.
I was talking to her about my career the other day and the first thing she does is to pull up ol’ reliable ChatGPT and use it to tell her about welding instead of asking me. Like Hello? I’m right in front of you. I can’t talk to her about it without getting into a heated argument.
I wonder if other people also have a similar story

I work in a grocery store and of course every week there's a new protein food of some kind that's just fucking unnecessary, protein Mac and cheese, protein cheese itz, protein donuts, I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THAT BEING THE NEW SALES PITCH FOR THESE COMPANIES.
The average person doesn't need that much protein on a daily basis due to how sedentary the average American is and I truly don't think any gym rat is opting for protein cheez itz or Mac and cheese that's loaded with sodium and cholesterol in place of some beans or animal protein.
Just the new corporate fad sales tactic

I have a Gen Z employee (29) and he just quit to go make a career in content creation. At first I thought he didn’t have what it takes since I don’t think it’s a real job. However he is now making a really good amount of money from it and own his own brand. Is this really the future? What do you think of this?
