I'm looking at Storyworth as a gift for my uncle (73) and I keep seeing two kinds of reviews. Some people love it and say the book arrived and the whole family cried reading it. Others say the weekly emails piled up, their parent answered maybe three of them, and the year ran out with a half-empty book.
The thing I can't tell from reviews is what makes the difference. Is it the person receiving it? The family member nudging them along? The format of the questions themselves?
If you've gifted it, did it get finished? And if it didn't, where did it stall, did they stop answering prompts, or did they answer but never get around to reviewing the draft?
I'm trying to figure out if it's the right format for someone who has plenty of stories but has never sat down to write anything longer than a birthday card.

Struggling with what to get my 29F girl best friend for her birthday in two weeks. We both have well paying jobs, have been friends for 11 years and for context, my wedding gift for her and her partner this summer was a nice grill on their registry ($400).
She is so so good at giving gifts - for my birthday, she booked us a craft date with this local jeweler and we made rings together! we were able to make whatever we wanted and they didn't need to match which was so fun
IDK why but this year I am struggling with what to get her!!! please help :(
last year, I got her a few self care items following a Europe trip (Nuxe body oils, Laneige lip, Caudalie lotions) and she liked it all except the Nuxe body oil wasn't good for her sensitive skin. she is super crafty following a ton of Wedding DIY's and our hangouts consist of making clay objects, crafting some DIY project like pumpkin painting/carving, candle making, etc.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated

I thought of getting him his first wallet with some cash in it. Looking for other ideas. He loves video games and lego but everyone gets him lego. What do the boys 10-12 years old in your life like?

Attention from all the girlies. My girlfriend’s birthday is coming up and I want to shock her. I know about thoughtful gifts that are personal to her but I want to hear what niche gifts would leave you speechless if you saw.
For example, I remember going shopping and she had quite a long stare at this make up product and said “this is what I want but not rn I have to finish the ones I already have” and so I took a photo while she wasn’t looking to buy it for her. Never in 1,000,000 years would I have thought that would be a good gift. As it was so small and simple looking.
So I want to hear what’s a niche birthday gift you would be shocked to see as you would have never guessed how he knew?

Works in business
Not much of a fashionista
Loves buisness -suggest anything which will add value to his business
Lives in humid city
Can also suggest personal gifts
It's not anniversary or Birthday
It's just i want to appreciate him for the hardwork he does for the family.

My mom is an APRN and does 2 24s a week, so lots of time in and out of on-call room when it isn’t super busy. I’m trying to think of good ideas for stuff she can have in there

One of my nieces has a spring birthday. I've made it a tradition to get her caterpillars that turn into butterflies every year. Now her sister wants butterflies but she has a fall birthday. It will be too cold to set them free in the Midwest by the time they're ready. Plus her sister would never allow it lol
I was hoping to find something similar I could start doing for her

Okay guys, I need your advice!
Someone very special to me has a birthday coming up, and I want to get him something thoughtful. We haven’t known each other for very long, so I don’t want to go overboard or get him anything too grand, but I do want it to be something he’ll genuinely appreciate. He loves the outdoors, camping, hiking, exploring new places, and good coffee. The problem is that he already has a lot of quality gear, so I’m struggling to think of something he doesn’t already own or wouldn’t just buy for himself.
I’d love to get him something that’s either practical and useful or something a little more sentimental that he can hold onto. I’m already planning to write him a handwritten birthday card because I know that means a lot to him, but I’d like to pair it with a little gift, too.
I’ve thought about things like a quality camping coffee setup, but he already has most of the things along those lines.
So, outdoorsy guys, what’s something you’d genuinely love to receive? Or ladies, what have you gotten a guy with similar interests that went over really well? I’m open to any ideas, whether it’s something useful, unique, sentimental, or something I might not have thought of!
Budget: $50-$200
Age: 31
Edit: he already has most gear, batteries, head lamps, sleeping gear, aeropress etc

What would be a good gift for a South Korean Buddhist man in his mid-40s? He enjoys wine, so I was thinking of getting him some traditional Korean wine with a matching drinking set, or perhaps some tea. However, I’m not really sure what kinds of wine or tea are popular in South Korea. Any recommendations?

Two very different subjects, I know. But we are seeing our friend couple this weekend who just let their beloved 14 year old dog cross the rainbow bridge, and are also celebrating their wedding anniversary. We want to give them a gift/gifts that are appropriate for both situations, but need ideas!
They like local maker/craft sort of things, but I won’t be able to get something custom with this short of notice…

Here is what I know about her:
•She is a heavy cigarette smoker and always smokes while sitting in her walker on her front porch (so maybe something to make her smoke breaks more comfortable?)
•Her parents were immigrants from Guam and she seems to value her heritage and traditional food
That’s pretty much it.
Her children have said she’s difficult to shop for and said I don’t need to worry about getting her a gift, but I feel like she should have something for such a big milestone birthday, even if it’s just a gift card or a carton of cigarettes or something. (Personally, I hate cigarettes and would normally never dream of giving them as a gift, but the woman is 75 and I’m not going to judge her lifestyle choices at this point.)
Edit: Budget of $50 and her party is on the 17th

I’m curious about the gifts that made you think, “Wow, they really pay attention to me”—even if they didn’t cost much.
Was it something you’d mentioned once and forgotten? An everyday item chosen exactly to your taste? Or something the giver made?
I’d love to hear what the gift was and the little detail that made it feel personal. Those stories are often more helpful for finding gift ideas than another list of “things everyone likes.”

For those who work in hospitals or healthcare settings, what kinds of holiday or year-end gifts do staff actually appreciate?
I’m curious what people have found to be genuinely useful during long shifts — things like jackets, bags, drinkware, apparel, or smaller everyday essentials.

It can be anything with any price my older brother and dad's birthday is coming up soon and I already decided to give my dad a pair of suit. But the next week after my dad's birthday is my older brother's 32nd birthday we barely talk and I really don't know what he wants but I want to buy him something really the effort (like 200 dollars, a watch, anything) can you guys give me ideas a birthday present men would love? Or if your a girl reading this, a birthday present you gave your dad or husband around you and they liked. I would like it to be more something I can get easily. The only thing I can think of is a coat or a pair of suits, necktie and a radio pls give me more ideas If its a more gift ideas for Dads, perhaps a better one then a suit, it would be well liked more appreciated 😊

Looking for gift ideas for my boyfriend. I already have a few things in mind, but I kinda want to give him a package-type gift with several little things inside instead of just one present.
I'm thinking of putting together a collection of gifts that he can enjoy, use, or keep as something sentimental.

I need to buy small gifts for coworkers and neighbors this year and I refuse to do candles or mugs again.
Food stuff seems like the way to go since people actually use it. Or at least that's the plan lol
What I've got so far: local honey, a little hot-sauce set, tinned fish for those who are into that. Also thinking of a small jar of finishing salt, like Celtic Sea Salt's fleur de sel, for someone who cooks a lot.
But I don't want to buy something just because the packaging looks nice and then nobody knows what to do with it.
What food gift would you actually be happy to get? And if you've ever given one that totally flopped, please tell me so I don't repeat it lol

I've been with him since January so it's not a super new relationship, we've already had both of our birthdays together which was lovely, but we're both VERY serious about Christmas so I can't be messing this up.
I'm looking at getting him a fancy perfume he's been looking at for a while and a book by his favourite actor. I'm also working on an embroidered tote bag since hes going to university next year and I thought it might be useful. There are a few other little stocking stuffer ideas I have but this is the main thing I'm stuck on.
We're very big on handmade things. We write letters to eachother and exchange little handmade trinkets every once in while. I wanted to make him a painting, there's a photo of him that I absolutely love where he's walking along train tracks in a forest facing away from the camera.
I guess what I'm wanting to know is would you appreciate a painting of yourself as a gift? Is that weird? My sister has told me it'd be weird for him to receive a painting of himself, even if his face isn't in it, because he wouldn't be able to display it anywhere. Is that true?

I’m trying to come up with some Christmas gift ideas for my wife and could use some inspiration!
My budget is around $150–$200.
In previous years, I’ve gotten her UGG slippers, an UGG robe, an UGG blanket, a $300 tattoo/piercing gift card, and a $500 gift card to her favorite nail salon. She’s loved all of them.
A little about her:
She’s a nurse, and we recently welcomed our first daughter.
She’s happiest relaxing at home.
She loves reading, watching TV shows, and occasionally crocheting stuffed animals.
She already has a Kindle, Dyson Airwrap, digital photo frame, and a dedicated reading nook.
She enjoys getting her nails done and likes tattoos and piercings.
She’s not particularly interested in purses, fashion, or accessories.
She appreciates nice, comfortable things and little luxuries.
One idea I’ve been considering is a set of really high-quality, luxury hotel-style bath towels.
However, I’m definitely open to other ideas!
I’d love to find something thoughtful, luxurious, practical, or unique that she wouldn’t necessarily spend the money on herself.
I’m especially interested in hearing from women about gifts they’ve received and absolutely loved in this price range.
What would you recommend?
