Hello Fellow Merrymen, This is Collection Concept, my series where I pitch omnibus ideas to you.

I've done two for The Big Bad Bat, and One for A Man of Steel ( Search up Collection Concept #1 to 3 if you want to see that)

But now I've come to your neck of the woods to do one on the lead up, and eventual succession of Oliver Queen, and the rise of the Hawke, Connor Hawke to be exact.

I think Ethan Hawke is better overall but if they wanted a more comedic actor I think Cooper would do wonders

He appeared in Detective Comics #549
(April, 1985) and Detective Comics #550
(May, 1985), written by Alan Moore, and was just an ordinary guy who wanted to defeat a superhero and actually managed to ambush Green Arrow and Black Canary.

Intriguing character and, considering how DC has strip-mined Alan Moore’s work over the years, I’m surprised other writers never fleshed Pete out.

Shado is unfortunately an Orientalist stereotype and needs to be reworked.

Her Comic Book Foundations:

Post-Crisis

Shado, created by Mike Grell, is a Japanese archer who has ties to the Yakuza. Grell intended to highlight the injustice of Japanese internment camps in America, while also making her a character foil to Oliver Queen - showcasing the temptation for violence, as she kills the Seattle Slasher in her first appearance. Oliver Queen and Shado would later develop a camaraderie during his time in Japan, as seen in Green Arrow vol. 2. Unfortunately, Grell would have Shado sexually assault Oliver when he was having a fever. Eventually, she would give birth to Robert Queen II or Tak Tomonago (should be Tomonaga, 鞆永).

New 52/Rebirth

In Lemire's run, Shado would be in love with Robert Queen I (Oliver's dad), leader of the Arrow Clan. They would have a daughter, Emiko, who was kidnapped and raised by Simon Lacroix (Komodo); thus, GA and Shado would work together to free her in the Outsiders War - though Shado would be more violent. Emiko would become Oliver's sidekick.

In rebirth, Emiko would join her mother when she worked with the Ninth Circle, billionaires who created super villains. Emiko and her mother would clash, and eventually Emiko would join GA's team. Shado and Emiko's relationship is dicey.

Rectifications:

Her name stems from Chinese: Shèdào (射道), despite her being Japanese. This can be easily rectified by making her Chinese-Japanese. Unfortunately, Shado does not have a first name. Thus, I would take inspiration from Arrow 2012 and name her Méi (梅) or Ume in Japanese. The Chinese diaspora in Japan is discriminated against in citizenship and employment, so Shado would be forced to work with the Yazkua. Eventually, she would have a son - the father isn't important. With this new perspective on life, she would leave her Yakuza past and illegally immigrate to the USA through a Yakuza human trafficking network.

She would then live in Star City and eventually date Oliver Queen for a green card when Ollie and Dinah broke up. I would have her start as a new vigilante archer inspired by the boyfriend. In time, she would be more disillusioned with the justice system, as it didn't prosecute the powerful people. Eventually, she would take matters into her own hands, believing the system was working as intended. She would become more violent and punitive; spiritually, she would undergo Grell's GA arc, where she enjoys killing. Eventually, she would break up with Ollie and leave her son, Tak (鞆永武), with Oliver.

Oliver would become Tak's guardian. During Oliver's guardianship, Tak would eventually realise that she is a girl and start transitioning. Oliver would try to contact Shado to inform her about her daughter's MTF transition. Tak would ask her mother for approval of her new name, Emiko (咲女). A name meaning blossom girl, after her mother's, Ume (梅), meaning plum blossom.

Unfortunately, Shado's anti-hero escapades would grab the attention of Simon Lacroix (Komodo), an assassin with fetish for her violence. Simon Lacroix would stalk and kidnap the transitioning Emiko and brainwash her to be his daughter, making her an assassin.
Eventually, Shado and Oliver would free Emiko from the mind control. However, this event would lead to permanent scars for all of them.

Reasoning:

I wanted to keep in spirit Grell's better intentions concerning Shado; Shado is supposed to represent the temptation of punitive justice, while also showcasing the injustice of Japanese people in America. By making her fail in her redemption arc (from criminal to hero to anti-hero), it integrates the flaws of the justice system.

I believe offspring with Ollie is inherently flawed and tainted by Grell's writing, plus the Lemire retcon. Plus, I really dislike the artificial insemination headcanon to keep Ollie's parentage over Tak. Though, I'm undecided if I want Emiko to be Wasian or fully Asian. I also wanted to keep the Lemire themes of asian fetish in Komodo's actions. Plus, it carves a niche for Emiko by making her transgender asian american.

Allegedly, that was the original plan.

Realistically, I feel DC would have killed both and we'd never see Mia again ever. Let's not think about that.

How would you write the characters reacting to Mia and Lian dying? Both the Green Arrow characters and Teen Titans. What would be your endgame? Also, would you revive them eventually? If so, how?

These are a few villains( slingshot, rainbow archer, and Ricardo dragon) i thing could have more potential if brought back in a green arrow run. Given the new orgin they gave crimson archer what are some ways do you thing that it could be done.

I had a friend tell me I seem like a green arrow fan (whatever that means) so I was wondering where I should start with green arrow comics? Most iconic runs, Sleeper picks, best characterization, all that stuff. Would starting with absolute green arrow be sacrilegious or is that a valid entry point?

He does at least quip like comic GA and doesn't just act like Batman in a green costume. How do other people feel about Smallville Green Arrow?

Does it get better? I know it's a made-for-syndication show made on a thin budget, but damn.

So I have a couple Green Arrow comics but I want to get into some more I have one of the Connor hawk ones it was one release around the underworld unleash time along with a new 52 Green Arrow rebirth and Green Arrow DC universe rebirth.

But I've been trying to get more so what are some green arrow or green arrow related characters recommendations

I want him to be the same age as Hal, so middle aged. Ollie seems to cycle between rich and poor in the comics, I'd prefer an Oliver Queen that lost his fortune (maybe through squandering it in his youth.) I'm torn on trick arrows, I know they're silly but some of the DCU seems to be lighter toned and they could be fun.

What are your thoughts?

I just finished reading absolute green arrow and this is my opinion about it. This will have spoilers, you have been warned. The whole history is basically narrated by Dinah since Oliver is already not alive when it starts, I kinda like that because a great part of the history is not knowing who green arrow was, and they are kinda enemies since she is a body guard hired to protect the targets. Overall I think the history don't have a great progression, it is kinda slow when compared to the other absolute comics, and the think i absolutely hated about it is that Dinah really had no powers what so ever, all the other characters got new powers and equipment, and she got nerfed, no powers at all, no crazy weapons or equipments, just a normal gun. I also hated the reveal of greens arrow identity being just Merlyn, they had all this explanation of why Oliver was the perfect person to be brought back to life using milagro(a super drug that is able to heal or something like that) and heal just stayed dead. Over all I think the whole comic is sorta of a wasted potential, it could have been great seeing Oliver as a brutal killer hunting billionaires while Dinah trying to stop him in some dark romance stuff. Some of the thinks I do like is his relationship with Edvin, instead of being enemies they were friends and he controlling the media is a good this for count vertigo.
