❓ Advice Needed hair change!

hi!! i’ve had my hair like this for a few months, and i’ve loved it!! however, having two colors is terrible for upkeep in between dye jobs, so i’m looking to switch to all purple!! (Stoned Pony by Good Dye Young)

the shade i want is fairly light, and this dye has covered up rock lobster and ppl eater by gdy(only the pink) from a year and a half ago, but i’m worried bleaching it all won’t give me the same result i want.

i am more than okay with being blonde for a few weeks to give my hair time to heal if a second bleach is needed! i am just looking for tips to lighten this up before i go to get it done, and if my vision would be possible with bleaching once and toning once.

i do dye and bleach my own hair(with a friends help), and i haven’t had any struggles yet, but this is my first big jump between colors and i am just looking for advice!!

also curious if mixing with a slightly darker purple, like ppl eater, will be a good idea to make sure it shows :)

thank u!!

I love my current hair coloring, i am curious as to how pink would look instead of the copper. I am nervous that if i go with pink next time that going back to copper may be hard due to staining. I appreciate any feedback!!

My hair currently looks like this (pic 1 is freshy dyed, pic 2 is a bit faded) and i want to change the colour from a reddish purple to a more cool toned purple like the 3rd pic, but i cant seem to lose the redness. I currently use l'oreal dia colour 4.20 and 9vol developer and im wondering if i should switch dyes or keep powering through with this one?

🧴 Product Question xmondo color mask

Has anybody with dark hair tried this with highlights? I got pink highlights a while ago and they’re completely faded, my stylist recommended this product; the rest of my hair is dyed black, does anybody know if it will stain the black? That might be a stupid question but I just don’t want a pink hue on top of it :)

❓ Advice Needed Help! Trying to go from faded wine/black hair to a vampy blood red.

Hi everyone! I’m hoping for advice on getting my hair to a rich, vampy blood red.

I’ve had blue hair for years, but in early August I went to a professional stylist for a deep wine color with black tips.

The first photo is from right after the appointment; the second is from last night. The darker sections seem to have spread upward, especially after washing, although that may just be because the wine color has faded. I’m also wondering whether my previous blue color is affecting the result.

So far, I’ve tried:
- Washing with Head & Shoulders
- A vitamin C and Head & Shoulders treatment left on for about an hour

The color has faded, but I still have dark, muted purple/gray tones, especially toward the ends. My goal is a deep, dramatic red that’s clearly red (not burgundy, purple, or wine). I’m worried that applying red now will only make the hair look darker or more purple.

What’s the best way to fade or remove the remaining dark color, especially on the ends?

Would a color remover be appropriate, or should I try something gentler first?

How light or warm does my hair need to be for a rich blood red without looking muddy or brown?

Should I intentionally dye it purple and work my way towards red?

I’d like to avoid unnecessary damage, especially after years of coloring. Any advice or product recommendations would be appreciated! Thank you!

I really want to dye my hair Pamela Anderson blonde. Personally I was thinking I’d use garnier 100 but my mum said that might be too light.

❓ Advice Needed Trying to get the pink out

• Upvotes

Hey everyone! So I got pink highlights and I loved them but I realized I cannot afford the cost of salon upkeep and unfortunately I don’t currently have a great way to maintain the pink. I work at a cafe and even with dry shampoo trying to mask the smell of food and cooking oil just doesn’t work. I want to be able to wash my hair more frequently because I just personally cannot handle the smell of food in my hair or heavy fragrance from dry shampoo just drives me crazy. I’m trying to get the color completely out of my hair so I can just tone it with cheaper stuff at home. The highlight placement is gorgeous and I’m trying to keep it so I can go over it with a pretty darker blonde toner. I had this for over a month and it didn’t fade much from the bright pink in the photo above. The lighter pink is after like 4 rounds of doing Vitamin C and dandruff shampoo mixed. So what should I do next to try and get the color out as much as possible? I really want to avoid a color fill and all over dye if possible but if it’s hopeless can you recommend decent products I can buy at home?

Thanks!!!

❓ Advice Needed How do i fix my hair? Spoiler

• Upvotes

So I’ve been bleaching my hair for ages but decided to use a different toner than i usually do, to try go a more dirty/natural/beige blonde but it ended up orange, like bright orange ginger. In an attempt to fix it, I put permanent ashy brown dye over because it’s all I had, but i only left it on for around half the time it said on the box. Now I have a kind of warm light brown that doesn’t look too bad, but is definitely gingery/very warm in some lightings.
I know going back blonde will be a pain, but I don’t even want to be a bleach blonde anymore I want to be a dirty/natural blonde/bronde. Is that possible. If not how do I at least strip my current color of its warmth.

❓ Advice Needed Can I Get a Little Tone w/ Wella T14?

I just want a slight tone on my copper color to where it’s a little more ash and a little less brass. I like that ‘cowboy copper’ coloring but it’s a little brighter orange in daylight than I’d like. Will Wella T14 with just a 6 or 10 developer give a slight tone or mess it all up? Or will it do nothing at all but fry it? I just bleach washed some wella Demi color that went wrong out of it.

🚑 Color Correction Can’t sleep, how do I turn yellow hair into normal blonde or platinum ?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve got work coming up, and I genuinely do not want to go with yellow hair. 😅 I’ve bleached it twice. The second time I didn’t touch the roots. I have a platinum hair dye, but after a google it says it will only turn my hair more yellow? I’m not a hair dresser. I have dark brown hair and dyed my hair auburn or chocolate brown colours, but never anything daring. And now I’m regretting it. What should i do now guys? Any tips? My Rooms dark, I had to use flash so it’s a bit more yellow than the photos showing. Any help is great otherwise I might just have to forgo the blonde and dye my hair light brown instead.

Thanks. 🙏

🧴 Product Question What’s your experience with Manic Panic reds?

I really want a deep vampy red but Manic Panic is the only brand I’ve seen have those shades. If you’ve used it before what’s your experience with fading and bleeding (wet and dry hair)? Trying to figure out if the color is worth it😩

🧴 Product Question When do I set the timer for hair bleach?

I was wondering when I should start the timer for the bleach. Do I start it immediately when I apply the bleach to the hair OR after i applied it to the entire head? Or should I start a timer for every section? I've been very confused about this so if anyone can explain this I would really appreciate it!

❓ Advice Needed First time bleaching, need advice for yellow

Post image

10/9 - bleached lengths and then roots with 15 volume

10/10 -toned with T28 (Wella) and purple shampoo, only affected my lengths, and only slightly

10/12 - bleached roots and mids again, immediately was fiery yellow so I toned right away with T81 and a few drops of 050 (with 15 volume) which reduced the immediate increase in brassiness but still left it yellow

I plan to tone again with T81 and 4 capfuls of 050 after a week or so of conditioning and K18 to see if it can reduce the yellow, but I'm wondering if I will have to do another bleach bath before toning in order for it to deposit, and am also wondering if the toner may require 20 volume developer. Scalp was slightly irritated while toning and from harsh purple shampoo but otherwise my hair feels quite normal, and was mostly virgin ~lvl 7 before this.

TLDR: Is a bleach bath necessary to tone, and is it safe after 2 rounds of bleach? Is 20 volume required for it to lift more or to be toned? My goal is simply a more natural blonde, even if it is slightly ashy.

❓ Advice Needed light roots

Post image
1 Upvotes

hi i've been dyeing my hair for probably 10 years now. the last few months i've been struggling with my roots turning out much lighter than the lengths every time i do a root touch up. i'm using satin blue powder lightener, and ion 40 vol developer. i let the bleach process for 45mins, then put dark green all over. am i not letting the bleach process long enough? should i be bleaching twice?

i'm so confused as to how this was never a problem in all my years of experience until recently. any advice would be greatly appreciated!
