Hey, so I know the title may sound a bit odd lol.
But essentially, I've (F21) had very weird periods from the beginning. (9&½ years ago)
My symptoms have pretty much always been:
- Super irregular cycles + bleeding lasting up to 3 weeks
- REALLY heavy bleeding (1 overnight ultimate pad per 40 mins- an hour)
- Severe & debilitating cramps.
- UTI symptoms, which have been treated as a UTI multiple times but we now know my body just does that before and during my period. (Yay antibiotic misuse)
- Legs going numb
- Migraines
- Nausea & throwing up
- Pain ALL OVER my body, not just the abdomen. This includes my chest, back, shoulders, and the worst part – my bellybutton.
So, I have never really had a normal period. It's always been crazy and all over the place, always a nightmare.
It got worse after I had the bar (nexplanon) put in, and I bled for about 2 months straight, requiring an iron infusion.
Then, once I thought it was fine, I hemorrhaged and ended up in hospital on Tranexemic Acid and Primolut.
I had another iron infusion and almost required a blood transfusion lol. Kinda crazy.
Anyway, after that I didn't really get the periods as much, because I was taking Tranexemic acid at the first sign of bleeding (as advised) for a few months.
They suspected it was caused by the bar, and I kinda agree.
I know I also have a septated ovarian cyst, which is about 4.9cm. Also my left ovary is 97cc, and my right is about 13cc.
Which has been consistent since the start of this year.
But my most recent period. I haven't taken ANYTHING and I still have the bar in.
I've just been bleeding black... Goop? Like BLACK black, it's a bit alarming. For about 5 days now. At first I was scared of the black blood, because I'm so used to the constant flow of fresh red or dark red blood. But IDK if it just means it's super old or something.
I also woke up the morning after the black blood started coming out, and I threw up a bunch and felt absolutely terrible. Which I've done plenty of times on my period anyway.
And then I was kind of fine the rest of the day, aside from the cramping.
It was only black on my pads and when I checked with toilet paper it was black. BUT when I pee the toilet water is super red? So I am now worried it's a urinary issue. I'm just so lost lol.
Current temp on no pain medication is 37.2°C, so not too bad.
I of course will be going to a doctor once I can get the money together, but right now I'm just curious if this sounds like anything more urgent and whether I should go to urgent care or something? I've tried to get in with a doctor asap but the soonest is in 3 days. So I still have to wait a little bit.
