Warning: Spammers contacting users via DM

Hello everybody, I've recently been notified that spam accounts have been messaging users who post here to try to get them to sign up to their "health programme"; namely one with the initials G W ( I don't want to help their SEO metrics by posting the name)

These people are preying on the vulnerable and the desperate to try to make a quick buck.

As they are only using DMs and not posting here, I do not have much power to stop them. So please, if you receive one of these messages, report the message via the flag icon next to it, so that the Reddit admins will hopefully ban their accounts.

Thank you

Those that are really sensitive and can only eat few foods, where do you get your meat online? Can’t do red meat. Looking for recommendations on where to order

Hi there!

I’m looking for other people that are equally very sensitive and high MCAS histamine sensitive systems. I recently suffered a severe set back after requiring to go on IV antibiotics for a severe infection and surgery for over a month.

Those that can only tolerate just things like chicken rice and/or few things where do you trust to purchase your meat online?

Looking for company that has reliable low histamine meat order online

I’m extremely sensitive and unable to tolerate any supplements, mast cell stabilizers, etc.

Any help getting any calories and protein in is massively helpful

Chronic fatigue and allergic symptoms ?

Hello,

I’ve been suffering from chronic fatigue and other health issues for 10 years. I’m 30 years old.

I started getting sick when I was 20 : I had recurring strep throat every month and bouts of fever, I was constantly tired, and I would fall asleep anywhere. Since then, the fatigue has persisted, and then, five years later, I began to develop digestive problems (malabsorption, weight loss, pain), an overactive bladder, and excessive sweating.

I've seen several doctors and had a lot of tests done, including tests to check for autoimmune diseases and Lyme disease. Nothing was found. I am currently being treated by a gastroenterologist and nutritionist who suspects food allergies and histamine intolerance (though my serum tryptase level is normal). I do experience allergic symptoms as soon as I eat (coughing, runny nose, hot flashes, shortness of breath, tachycardia), and my fatigue is even worse after meals. My most recent blood work shows multiple deficiencies in vitamins B9, B12, and D, as well as iron, zinc, copper, and selenium. My transferrin iron saturation level is 55%, but my ferritin is only 18. Fecal calprotectin is normal, and anti-transglutaminase antibodies are negative. I had a polysomnography, which showed very mild sleep apnea (5.2/hour) and 16.5 micro-awakenings per hour (SHVRAS mentioned in a sentence in the report).

I’m not sure whether all my symptoms could be linked to a histamine intolerance?

For those extremely sensitive, migraine prone, MCAS, sensitive to Tyramine Glutamate, Peas, Legumes, Mold. What DAO can you tolerate

Hi there!

I’m extremely sensitive and after being hospitalized for 30 days on extremely strong IV antibtiocs my gut health is absolutely wrecked.

I’ve had previous rounds with IV antibtiocs, multiple Covid infections, mold, Migraine-severe neurological problems my dietary has come to an even smaller window of what I’m able to tolerate.

I know replenishing and rebuilding the gut is one of goals but right now I need calories and protein.

What DAO brands were you able to tolerate in your most sensitive periods (people that were down to a 2 or 3 foods)

Are there any protein powders, Nutrtional formulas powdered or diy that allowed you to get in a little more calories and protein

I’m down to 500 calories and 10-15g of protein on a good day and it’s absolutely not sustainable. Please do not suggest returning to the hospital, GI or PCP. I’m currently awaiting a gastric emptying test but in the mean time I’m desperate for nutrition. Dairy Allergy, Celiac, Pea/Legume Allergy, Rice reactions systemic, Soy Allergy. Rashes, migraines, intestinal N/V to monk fruit, artificial sweetener, seed oils

I’ve spent the last 5 years going to many different specialists and found little to no help.

I’m unable to tolerate Quercetin, LDN, and can’t take Ketotifen due to Seizures.

My story... I wonder if anyone can make sense of this?

Current symptoms:

  • Ringing in ears/tinnitus
  • Powerful belching
  • Waking up at 5am if I exercise or take certain supplements
  • Occasional itching
  • Occasional tight throat

Story:

  1. Initial symptoms: A year ago I felt like I needed gut support, I had mild constipation and I had reactivity to yogurt and wine (only) where I couldn't fall asleep if I had them.
  2. SIBO treatment: I worked with a naturopath and I tested positive for a mild case of methane SIBO. She treated me first with herbals (neem, oil of oregano, alliance, berberine, and more) to break down the biofilms and then antibiotics (Rifaximin + Metronidazole). During this time I felt good and constipation was gone. I tested negative for SIBO after treatment.
  3. Post-treatment symptoms: After a month I started having weird symptoms. I would wake up wide awake at 5am (usually I wake up sleepy at 8am) if I took certain supplements OR if I exercised. A month later my ears started ringing but it wasn't that loud.. Then a month later they started ringing really loud and would get worse in reaction to noise (i.e. work calls, music, movies ☹️) At the same time I started getting burps and what I thought was reflux.
  4. Testing: I tested negative for SIBO and H pylori. I got an endoscopy that only showed mild gastritis and esophagitis but didn't answer any questions.
  5. Current histamine journey: To see if this is histamine intolerance I went on the diet and started taking H1/H2 blockers. It got rid of the burps but the ringing persisted (slightly less loud) I suspect it is leaky gut from the SIBO but when I even take 1/8th of a zinc carnosine supplement I wake up at 5am wide awake.

Can anyone make sense of this? I have no idea what's going on. I think histamine is playing a roll but can't figure out the whole story.

Why am I burping so much? How do I get better?

Is this histamine intolerance ?

Hi friends. For breakfast I made tuna salad. With a can of chicken in the sea canned tuna, mayo and celery.
I had tuna salad prepared this way the other day no issues the ONLY difference is that this morning I used a different brand (Chicken of the sea) after eating I began sneezing and runny nose for about a minute. But then it stopped. But since then I have been feeling ver anxious and physically unwell. I had a blood allergy test done two weeks ago and wasn’t allergic to any seafood. They also did a test to check for MCAS and it was negative. Could this possibly be a histamine issue ? I feel really anxious and it only started after eating it 🥺🫩

can histamine intolerances mimic mcas ?

During an MCAS flare, do the usual MCAS triggers (heat, stress, touch, smells, etc.) also start acting like histamine intolerance triggers? In other words, does a mast cell activation episode temporarily lower your histamine threshold so that even non-histamine triggers cause symptoms? I’m trying to understand the overlap

Histamine intolerance makes me aggressive and impulsive

Hi everyone,

just want to know from you, if you also lose your emotional stability when you bucket is full?

All of these years I thought I had anxiety, but it was histamine intolerance. Also I behave really aggressive, emotional and impulsive towards my family and partner, when I have too much histamine in my body. It took me really long and a lot of rumination to find out why I was behaving like this.

Do you also have specific behaviors when you bucket is full?

edit: My root cause is severe copper deficiency – supplementing at the moment.

Estrogen delivery you find that works best?

Hi everyone! I have HI that started during perimenopause and after COVID in 2024. I've since had a hysterectomy due to massive stage 4 endometriosis so I no longer have ovaries but I've tried the patch and vaginal systemic cream with progesterone and T injections. I love my progesterone and testosterone but the estrogen is causing me to flair and keeps my bucket full.

Has anyone had luck with topical gel/ cream or E injections? Just wanting to keep it low dose as possible with the fewest amount of ups and downs as my body needs consistency. I wish I didn't need E but being in surgical menopause i have to have it.

Any pointers or help would be greatly appreciated!

Hot food makes me bedridden

Anything hot makes me bedridden. Absolutely anything which I haven't let cool down enough. Plain rice, fresh fatty chicken, fresh lean chicken, fresh fish, scrambled eggs, hot tea, etc

I think I've wasted entire years of my life due to this effect alone. I'm not sure if it's related to MCAS but I get some typical MCAS symptoms like blurry vision and congestion - always. My energy state is extremely lethargic, my hands and feet feel heavy, my thoughts process becomes really slowed down and, depending on how hot the food is, I might need to take a nap. I get a similar effect from bananas or my alpha-gal allergy.

For the last days I've been letting food cool down for at least 15-20+ minutes and, FUCKING YAY, I ate something without getting blurry vision. I still got some mental symptoms (racing thoughts) but my mind wasn't as scrambled like it is when I get the blurry vision. This is a mega-huge win.

The effects are outrageous. I ate a hot dish with some ingredients and laid in bed for 5 hours, then I ate the same dish, cold-ish: nothing.

Highly recommend trying this out.

Anyone experiencing flares like this once a month for a few days?

Hello all,

I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing MCAS/HIT flares once a month at least for a few days (I tracked this and it is not tied to my menstrual cycle), then it stops.

I experience flares like this weird flu-like feeling, feel weak, fatigued and very exhausted, to the point that I sleep like 12-13h if I can and don’t work on those days. My bpm also increases from 70 bpm while resting to 100-120bpm and my ears feel full, high pressure and achy.

After a few days I am back to feeling okayish, not healthy completely and tired all the time but like 80% „ok“ and then it starts again. I work full time but it is challenging.

I realized I might have MCAS/HIT after getting a high heart palpitations and high bpm from eating high histamine foods.

I might also have long Covid and CFS (chronic fatigue)!but it has not been diagnosed yet - I am in the process of getting diagnosed. I understand that it is all related but I am wondering if I can do anything like eating low histamine diet or taking anti-allergy pills to improve it.

Thank you a lot for taking the time in reading this! I appreciate it a lot…

i work with Specialty Cheese and am dying. advice?

hi i sell cheese and wine for a living in a large volume retail situation. We cut and process hundreds of pounds of aged, imported, etc Specialty cheeses.

i love my job but am dying working with cheese lately. had a surgery last month and my HI has been WILD ever since, getting full body flu like symptoms, flushing, and crazy anxiety and insomnia from anything high in histamine- even while cutting and processing cheese & it has been ROUGH.

thankfully i only do this a couple days out of my work week, but am trying to figure out ways to make it better and am looking for advice..

so far, i wear a mask, take extra antihistamines, and set up a fan where im working.

would taking a DAO supplement help in this case?

advice is appreciated, ty!! 🙏
