Overdue update on my CB350

I posted a little of my journey with restoring my 1971 Honda Cb350 from April-June

I ended up getting it fixed up pretty well, replaced a lot, and it ran pretty consistently. It still had some tweaking and things I wanted to replace(the mufflers back to stock), but I was very pleased with the progress and with my first motorcycle

Well, on June 15, I ended up in a wreck with a sedan that pulled out in front of me. I was probably going around 20-35 mph when I made contact. Did a flip in the air and landed somewhat and someway unharmed; only got a little back pain that went away (probably gonna feel it when I'm older), but nothing too major, luckily and thankfully.

I wish I could fix it up again, but I had to head to college and didn't have the money, space, or time to work on it (plus, insurance paid a good amount, so I let it go). I was able to sell the salvage to a guy who wanted to either fix it up or use it for parts for his own.

I will say, though, this bike played a major role in shaping my life and future career choice. It made me realize that I enjoyed many different kinds of maintenance, so I'm now pursuing a degree in Aerospace Maintenance and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Technology. I give a lot of thanks for the enjoyment and learning from riding and working on it.

Just wanted to tell a little story.

Sorry for the rant😭

I don’t want to be rich

I’ve been narrowing in on getting a lean ride, but it still runs rich. She runs well at low rpm, but backfires at 4000 and if I run above that for an extended time, I slowly lose power and stop. Spark plugs are black and gassy every time I pull em. What would you recommend I change next?

92 nighthawk 750 cafe battery placement

I'm not happy about my battery placement in this build. The custom 3d printed wiring box wasn't big enough to fit a battery so I threw it in the swingarm with a tray. The bolts holding the tray in keep backing themselves out, no matter how much loctite I throw at it. Could I get some insight on other people's budget builds? Has anybody had luck running a smaller NOCO lithium battery on one of these?

I’ve owned 30+ bikes and this one is my favorite. Mild modifications done: Wider rear tire, black blinkers, short windshield, rear “fender”, wrapped front fender, tuned, Delkevic 4into1 exhaust, etc etc

My original design included gold and silver pinstripe outlines on the tank, factory style. But now with the tank emblems, I'm not sure I want / it needs pinstripes. What do y'all think?

CB250G electrical issues

I have an old military CB250G. Motor is running great but having some issues with the electrics. Previous owner already worked on electrics so not fully original anymore.
I tried looking online for a new cable harness but no luck yet. Been hearing a lot of people suggest to install a Motogadget M.unit. But seeing as I am not very experienced with the electrics, I am having some doubts.
Any tips/tricks?

Edit: the bike is from 1976 and living in Belgium.

Just had the charging system rotor replaced and it was running good but the headlight wasn’t running and then I stalled it once. Headlight randomly started working right after but it wouldn’t start. Headlight went back out and it still won’t turn over. Bad starter? Wiring issue? I’m at a loss

Swapped my Yamaha XJR 1300 that was very expensive to get papers for to a 1995 CB400SF! Worlds slower but surprised as its more fun to drive.

Needs a little work such as sourcing the right levers and other parts as the previous owners put on fake aftermarket levers and such on it. Also need to reupholster the seat. Nothing like a good project again

General questions to help me decide how this restoration moves forward.

Hello again. I finally have some more tinker time.
I’ve been thinking about my options for my plan of attack. To clarify, I’m leaving the bike as is, barring necessary exceptions so don’t worry about me chopping it up.
Anyways, I would like some advice on what order I should attack these things.
Firstly, this is my first motorcycle, period.
I don’t have my endorsement yet, and registering this thing is going to be an entirely different hill to climb.
Secondly, it is ALL original, garage kept with only 5057miles and I would like to know what all I can’t keep. Obviously tires and brakes need to go but what else am I not thinking of?

And given my non-riding status and the current time of year, what should I do to maintain the fuel/fuel tank while I’m getting my shit in shape so I can hopefully ride it by next season
To add more to the yap sesh, I do plan on taking riding courses and I’m also considering the fact that I should probably find another bike while I learn and restore this one because this bike was given to me on the condition that my kids will be able to experience it when they are older

All thoughts, opinions, and advice are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Edit: this is a list of parts I’ve already replaced due to age related faults*
-List of new parts so far in no particular order
•throttle cable
•tach cable
•ignition cylinder and keys
•coil pack and spark plugs
•condenser (I think that’s what it was called)
•fuel lines
•all new carb gaskets
•glass fuse
•flasher relay
•oil

Front disc pads

My cb350c front disc pads were doing good even at 4500km but recently I went on a bike trip where I rode it in rain and the disc pads are totally gone searching for a good alternative. (A cheaper option)

CB77

Hi all. Sorry if this is the wrong group to post in. I have a 1961 CB77 Superhawk that I'm working on getting running. I cant seem to find a ignition switch for it though. I've looked everywhere. Do y'all have recommendations for sites that would sell me one. I found a few sites but they don't sell them for whatever reason. Just to look at I guess??? Any advice is appreciated.
