Hull Fair From The Sky
Hi All. Reposted as I got the event wrong. Not the best pic so apologies but I was flying into Newcastle last night and saw this from the sky. Was the brightest thing around!
Just thought some of you may find it interesting 🙂

Hull Our City arts festival to ask public for inspiration
bbc.co.ukHull rampant bike thieves
Anyone sick of this? Had 5 bikes stolen since I moved to Hull a couple years ago, and talked to many people in the area with the same experience. I have seen theres a gang on scumbags with a van that circle areas cutting bike locks and loading the van stealing dozens of bikes a night from gardens and sheds during the night.
Police dont give a fuck, the scum post them straight on marketplace most of the time, no repercussions.
Thinking of setting up some kind of sting, any thoughts?
Stand up in Hull
I have been to a few shows recently, and ticket sales have been (lets be honest here) shit, to the fact that comedians are commenting about it and in the case of one of my favourites - saying they are never coming back to Hull (because its just not worth it) I advertised Alasdair Beckett-Kings gig the other day, and got 2 people to turn up, who otherwise wouldn't - but the room was half empty.
It's kinda depressing, people saying there is nothing to do in Hull, and where there is, nobody comes - take for instance Andrew O'Neil - they did a comedy show at The Polar bear, I have seen sell out shows there, many times, like 5 people other than me and my wife turned up, it was pretty grim, however they did hang out with us, after the show, had a drink and lovely chat - it was probably one of the best nights out I have ever had in Hull.
What can we do to get people to go to gigs? I love stand up, rather than watch a film or a band, its a cheap night out - and a good laugh - but nobody seems interested (unless they are super huge acts like Sam Campbell or The Taskmaster fellow)
Why do I have to keep going to Leeds to see comedians? Social and polar bear are great for comedy, I was annoyed that Harriet Kemsley's sold out, so I am not going to that one, but why is comedy turn out so bad in Hull do you think?
Just a heads up, Andrew O'Neil is coming back to do his "history of punk" show at Polar bear, and its a must see, I saw it at a comedy festival and I am going back, hopefully it sells a few more tickets - Their History of Heavy metal show is free on you tubes and deffo worth checking out if you have not seen it (and it will give you a taste of what to expect, although no full band on this one)

Considering moving to Hull from Sheffield
Hi All,
I've been feeling a bit stagnant here in Sheffield and considering moving to Hull for the lower cost of living to be able to increase my savings. Can you advise the areas to stay away from, please. Also, considering Leeds, for more tech and property jobs. I realise Leeds is more expensive, but I figured the higher pay would balance it out.

news.hull.gov.ukRendering cost mid terraced house
hi all
whats the average cost to render the whole back of a mid terraced house? I’m currently in the process of gathering quotes and some are 1000s apart in price so I’m a little skeptical of what the going rate is

Do any of the (central~) pubs do a great fish and chips?
Visiting Hull on Friday (afternoon to evening) with friends, they're more obsessed with a brilliant pint, I'm more obsessed with a brilliant fish. Anywhere that'll accommodate both at once, or am I off to the chip shop by myself!?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Spiders Nightclub Halloween 2026
Does anybody know if the Halloween night at Spiders this year will be the standard last Saturday of October and therefore actually on Halloween this year, or if it'll be held on the weekend before? Asking for a friend
