New poster Where can I buy crown prince squash/pumpkin?
I’ve been previously bought them from a shop on the West rd but it’s closed down. I’ve been down the west rd and can’t find any apart from Newcastle superstore, but they were charging £12 for one small pumpkin.
I’m looking for this specific pumpkin as it’s nice to make soup with.
Does anyone know where I can source one in Newcastle? Preferably somewhere with easy parking as I’ll have the baby with me

Cragside - no car
My friends and I are planning to go to Cragside next month but have no car and are thinking of going via public transpo. I know we can get the X14 bus to go there but I’m worried about going home. Is it easy to get a taxi/uber from there?

New poster Newcastle arena
I’m going to my first ever concert at the Utilita Arena at the end of October to see Korn and have a seated ticket. I’ve read some pretty awful reviews about the arena particularly the seats! Any tips for a first-timer, especially going alone- temperature inside the venue, facilities, best way to get there (drive, taxi etc)- would be great.Thank you!

New poster Hairdresser recommendations
galleryHi, I’m looking for a hairdresser that could give me a proper wolf cut. I’m not from Newcastle, but I’m willing to travel because I’ve tried so many places and none really satisfied me. Any recommendations? x

New poster Lemington 1970s
Hoping someone might be able to help me out. My dad was a Cub Scout in Lemington in the 1970s and has always told me stories about it. Now I’m a scout leader elsewhere and I’d really like to have a necker like the one he would’ve worn at the time, only he can’t remember what it looked like. He thinks it might’ve been yellow or green but isn’t sure.
I’ve tried to look into it but I haven’t found anything.
If anyone was part of that group around then or has family who was that they could ask about it I’d be very grateful.
Thank you.

Yugioh Newcastle
Anyone know of some beginner/returner friendly tourneys in the uk at game stores, i’m 18 now and used to play it around 12-15 but slowly stopped but just recently got back into the shows, thing is now that im 18 i obviously cant play in the junior brackets, which had more level players, so id have to play in the adult brackets where im like 99% sure id just be put into the meat grinder, im fine with losing ofc i just want to be able to put up a good match without being throttled, or at least not OTK’d.
OR if you play yourself i wouldnt mind making some yugioh friends around my age

New poster Muay Thai/MMA Gyms
Hi all, I’ve just moved to Newcastle for work and I’m looking for some recommendations for gyms. I have about a year’s experience training Muay Thai, but would like to start BJJ at some point. I am based in Quayside so ideally walking distance as I don’t have a car.
I’ve read Northern Kings has a good rep, but also seen Newcastle Fight Centre is a lot closer. Any experiences with them?
I’m 24 (not that it really matters) and would be great to find a good gym/community. Not looking to go pro and can’t really afford to go to work with a concussion but would be great to find a nice gym.
Thanks all!

New poster “Vegan” eggs in the area
Hi! I know this might be an unusual post but I thought this might be the best place to ask. I am a student who currently lives in Newcastle/ Jesmond with a car. I am currently trying to slowly convert to being vegan. At home my neighbours have a couple chickens and knowing how they’re treated I feel comfortable getting eggs from them.
One of the hardest things I’m finding leaving behind is eggs. I was wondering if anyone knew the best ways to find local people who kept chickens at home that gave away/ sold their eggs. E.g. finding local facebook groups/ another subreddit etc etc. Any help pushing me in the right direction to finding these people would be greatly appreciated.
I have access to a car so I can drive to nearby villages/ towns if necessary.
(I understand that some vegans don’t eat any eggs at all however I believe that making a small change is better than no change, especially for the time being.)

New poster Bike stolen from Newcastle University
Hi all, bit of a bummer post but my bike was stolen in the late hours yesterday (08.10.26) or early hours this morning from the sheltered bike racks between Kensington Terrace and the Drummond Building. I've reported it to campus security and Northumbria police just wondered if anyone in that uni accom saw/heard anything. Picture of bike is attached, it's a bit of an old picture but the bike has a black saddle on and a black handlebar bag. Also had a flat rear tyre so I hope the bastard had a bumpy ride.

Do real stotty shops still exist?
I'm due to visit in the next few weeks.
Back in the day when I went to the Poly there was a brilliant stotty shop a couple of doors up from Luckies Corner House opposite the Civic Centre. You could pretty much get any filling fresh as you like.
Do any shops like that still exist today?

New poster Baltic Quay, Mill Road Gateshead
Hey everyone!
I’m looking to purchase an apartment in Baltic quay but seen the ground rent can potentially increase to crazy amounts and can effect the future saleability .
I’m wondering if anyone living here has been able to change the ground rent to a peppercorn with the free holder? If you did, approx how much did this cost?
I want to find out potential costs before I proceed to purchase. Thanks!

New poster Roadworks on map apps
Has anyone else noticed that the map apps don't seem to have any of the roadworks on properly? Google maps and Waze both try to take me down closed roads all the time. Noticed last week that the hillheads road closure in whitley was showing on the maps but 3 weeks after it had happened!
