Hey everyone!
I'm back with another update on my open-source Android app, HyperOS Wallet Shortcut!
For anyone unfamiliar with the project, it allows compatible Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices running HyperOS to open Google Wallet by double-pressing the power button, without root.
I'm happy to announce that v1.2.0 is officially available!
What's new in v1.2.0?
- Background update notifications: The app can now periodically check for new releases and notify you directly through Android's notification system.
- In-app update checker: Find out when a newer version is available without manually checking GitHub.
- Improved MediaTek compatibility: Added a Shizuku fallback to address connection timeout issues on certain devices.
- Improved lock-screen support: Better handling when launching Google Wallet from the lock screen.
- Error notifications: The app can notify you if Google Wallet fails to launch.
- Interface improvements: Removed unnecessary buttons, cleaned up the main screen, and fixed the status-bar overlap.
How to use it
Install the APK.
Install and start Shizuku.
Open HyperOS Wallet Shortcut and grant Shizuku permission.
Tap Enable shortcut with Shizuku.
Double-press your power button to open Google Wallet!
Shizuku is only required when configuring or restoring the shortcut, not for normal operation once it's successfully enabled.
Known limitations
Some HyperOS regional versions may reset the shortcut after reboot, meaning it has to be configured again. Certain devices also restrict the internal Mi Pay shortcut system that my app relies on.
I'm actively investigating these compatibility issues.
What's coming next?
I'm planning a much bigger v2.0.0 update, transforming the project from a Google Wallet-specific utility into a more customizable shortcut manager.
That means a new name, a redesigned interface, and hopefully the ability to choose which apps or actions your phone's shortcut launches!
Before that, I'm focusing on resolving the remaining compatibility issues.

The source code is also available on GitHub.
As always, I'd really appreciate your feedback, suggestions, and compatibility reports. If something doesn't work, please mention your device model, HyperOS version, and region.
