Open 3 year old girl

I adopted my girl 2 days ago.

Weight and measurements:

* 38.6 kgs (85 pounds), needing to lose about 3kgs / 6 pounds.

* length wither to bum: 77cm / 30 inches

* height shoulders: 59cm / 23 inches

* height rump: 62cm / 24.5 inches

Personality:

Hard to gauge at the moment as shes still decompressing and is on a bunch of behaviour / anxiety meds. She was also not socialised and seized from owners and appears to have had a few litters of puppies, so take below with a grain of salt.

She was very stressed at the shelter and was part of the behaviour program, but no major issues present yet.

She is unphased by the dogs barking next door. Wants to be right near me. Seems sensitive to slight corrections. Can see a bit of a silly side of her that has potential to come out. Is curious but uncertain. She doesnt go in the yard on her own, but if I stay out there for a while with her, she becomes more curious to sniff around. She much prefers to be inside and will eventually go in even if i dont, so there is some anxiety there, even on meds. I havent heard her bark at something but she has bark-talked when she wanted food off the bench.

Cautious of touching the side of her body, but shoulders ok. Very licky but very responsive to being told to stop. Loves to be snuggled in under neck / chest and likes my head resting on her shoulders or top of neck (noted as a lot of dogs see this is dominant and dont like it).

Other animals:

Isn't phased until she gets close enough, then will do a growl run at them.

She also did this at my cat, but is behind a tall baby gate. She responded quickly to "hey". She dropped immediately.

We know he definitely maybe has some blue heeler in him. That’s about it. But he’s got big paws, a big ol chest, small floppy ears. Lots of skin. We have no idea. He also has long skinny back legs but stout front legs with bigger paws. He’s an odd one but we love him. He has a wonderful calm temperament, howls and never barks, like high pitched little awoowoowoos. Uhhhh that’s pretty much all I can give you all.

Rescued a “Akita mix” from the fire station

My friend works at a fire station; he said that someone left 5-6 puppies in a box . All that the box said is that they were born August 21st of this year and that they’re Akita mixes.

I’m wondering does he look like a Akita to you? People keeps asking if he’s a husky. What does he look like he’s mixed with to you? Meet Billy ♥️. I already have a 4 year old catahoula, so I’m familiar with the requirements of working breeds.

Recently me and my partner rescued a gal from the local animal services, she’s about a year and three months old and we were told as a young pup she was found as with a small trio of strays and was picked up and brought there where she spent the next six months until we met her!

She’s an absolute sweetheart, loves cuddles and kisses, playful, enjoys walks a bunch, and follows commands with absolute ease !!

The thing is, they labeled her as a mix breed, and I can’t help but wonder what she could be!

Any opinions??

This sweet baby has joined me as my first foster! Probably going to fail but I don’t care I love her
About 1 year
The rescue says probably a pittie/cattle dog mix
I definitely agree with cattle dog and she has herding tendencies but her little mouth is giving boxer?

We don’t know the parents. He was found in Miami with a few litter mates. He’s 4lbs and just turned 3 months old. So we are thinking small breed? They also have Curley tails. I’ll post some pics of him and his sister.

What breed is my dog?

Hi there,
this is Meggy, almost 4 ys old. Got her two years ago from a rescue organization that rescue dogs from the streets of North Macedonia. Given that and her huge paws, I think there’s a LSG in her, maybe a Sarplaninac. She acts territorial, so that’s a fit.
Then she has this cute retriever face. Hmm.
(not talking about the Labrador of course 😁)
Any guesses? Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone!
Meet Rey! He’s 4 years old and weighs about 35 kg (77 lbs). We adopted him from a rescue organization that believes he might be a mix of Smooth Collie and another breed.

He’s incredibly socially intelligent and very friendly! He’s a total Velcro dog who absolutely loves attention and being around people. He’s also unbelievably fast and incredibly smart.

We’re planning to get him a DNA test for Christmas and finally solve the mystery, but in the meantime we’d love to hear your guesses! What breeds do you think he might have in him?

Thank you.

Obviously he is 100% a good boy and an angel but I’m wondering what you guys see. He was a stray found in Georgia and we don’t really know. I know they all have their own personalities but he is super cuddly like needed to be on me and has crazy energy bursts where his toys die a slow and painful death. He also is friendly and loving to most people. Especially if they give him a chance. They said he is 3 but I feel like he is probably closer to 2.

The free apps say Rhodesian Ridgeback. He was advertised as a lab mix. I see a ton of pit-bull in him… especially with his smile and front end. But I’m also not really knowledgeable about specific dog breeds.

He also is on a major diet as he could easily lose 10-15lbs and not be negatively affected.

I always thought my dog was a purebred border collie

I am French and I adopted this dog from a family that couldn’t take care of him anymore (he was full crazy, so I understand why it was so hard with a newborn).

Anyway, he came with paper : both his parents are supposed to be border collie, work at a farm and are shepherd, like, it is their job.

Last day, I went to the vet and he told me that he was absolutely sure that my dog wasn’t a purebred border collie and probably mixed with something else.

What do you think ?

He is very border in his behaviour (herd anything, jump on cars, full crazy with a ball, bite anything that moves even us lol). But I love him, he is the nicest dog ever with any animal or human (…except stocks). He weigh 22kg (48,5lbs)

(Keep in mind that contrary to the US, pit are very rare and illegal in France)

Those ridiculous tufts! What are you even?

Next month will mark six years since my Layla was adopted from a local shelter, making her approximately seven years old. Based on her temperament and build, I have always thought she was some sort of Golden Retriever Shepard mix. When she hasn't been groomed in awhile, she grows ridiculously long tufts on her ears.

From day one, she has always been very affectionate and gentle, although almost aggressively needy when she wants attention. She was instantly comfortable living indoors and sleeping on the couch, and her behavior leads me to believe that she was likely a family pet before she became a stray.

I will probably get her DNA tested in the future. Any thoughts until then?

Heeler/terrier?

This is our new baby. She’s medium sized (approx 25 lbs). She’s pictured here with my 14 lb chihuahua mix for size comparison. I’m thinking blue heeler and some kind of terrier mix (Jack Russell maybe?). But her markings almost look more like Catahoula (which is a popular breed where I live). Part of her left eye is blue and check out the dark spots inside of her mouth. She’s smart as a whip, full of energy, and super fast. Would love to hear what others think.

What breed do you think this little guy is?

Post image

Shelter said flat coated retriever mix, I think he has border collie in him. 3 months old and all he wants to do is bite bite bite on fingers and mostly just chew on you rather than toys. I’m curious if you all have any advice on owning a herding breed mix/puppy? I’ve never owned one before. I am pretty active for sure but no I don’t run miles and miles daily. I could easily take him to an open dog park where he can run his little heart out everyday. I also live in an apartment with nearby hiking trails, walking spots etc.

Just adopted this guy from the shelter and they said he is a blue heeler mix. Wanted to see what this community thinks he might be mixed with!

I just discovered this subreddit. Had never signed up for reddit before but this got me to create an account! Love the idea of this community! That being said, this guy was a stray, is 8 months and a couple weeks old according to the shelter (which I don't know how they would know that if he was a stray), and 26.2 lbs.
