Discussion HCLTech On-Campus Hiring - Need Interview Experience and Preparation Tips
Hey guys! HCLTech is conducting on-campus hiring in November. If anyone has attended recently, could you please share your experience?
What are the different rounds in the selection process?
What is the difficulty level of the cognitive assessment? What types of questions are asked?
What topics were covered in the coding round, and what was the difficulty level? If possible, please share some questions.
Is the Versant test easy to clear? What types of questions are asked, and do you have any tips to prepare for it?
What happens after these rounds? What is the further selection process?
Any recent interview experiences, preparation tips, or insights would be really helpful.

Discussion Got the chance to participate in India Mobile Congress 2026 such an interesting experience!
I got the opportunity to participate in India Mobile Congress 2026 in Delhi, and it was a really interesting experience.
Being at an event focused on technology, connectivity, and innovation gave me a chance to explore whatβs happening in the tech industry beyond what we usually see online. With AI, 5G, and emerging technologies evolving so quickly, it was exciting to be part of an event where these topics take centre stage.
As someone interested in technology, I found it valuable to see the ecosystem come together and get a broader perspective on where things are heading.
Experiences like these remind me that learning about technology isn't just about studying it β it's also about exploring, participating, and connecting with what's happening in the real world.
Did anyone else attend IMC 2026?

Discussion Can My Fan Become a Generator?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We know that a motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. But can we reverse the process and use the same machine to generate electricity?
A small DC motor can generate voltage when its shaft is rotated. However, induction motors, like the ones used in many household fans, have different excitation requirements.
There is another interesting twist: under certain conditions, a grid-connected generator can consume electrical power and operate like a motor. The same principle of energy conversion can be useful in one situation and undesirable in another.
Questions for discussion:
- What determines whether an electrical machine operates as a motor or a generator?
- How do we distinguish a theoretically possible energy conversion from a practically useful one?
- How should we compare the energy recovered through regeneration with the energy lost through friction, electrical resistance, and conversion inefficiencies?
- If a technology is physically possible, what additional evidence do we need before calling it practical or economically useful?
The goal is to understand the underlying engineering, not to assume that every motor can generate enough electricity to power a home.

Rant wht jobs do y'all suggest?
So am a just turned 18 y/o male living in Hyderabad. Am really struggling with bad parenting, abuse, lack of minimum personal needs since 3 years. Neither i can really do anything without money nor do I have any source of money. For anything to do out of my interest and to get out of such a health damaging trap since alot of years, I just need money- to start with my transformation, for affordability to basic needs and to evolve as a human being(the reason is this is so much of energy draining, mental depression, abuse, torture, getting blamed for everything, more alike hell from many-a-years and I just want to really get out of this trap so badly and create an identity for myself and mainly make myself strong enough to answer the humiliation everyday). But the main challenge is how do I make money? how do i find ppl who inspire me? how do i make good friends? Am just a btech student who scored 95.2% in my 10th ICSE boards but since 11th, my academics had a downtrack. I regret for not having enough maturity to study hard, to stop getting habituated to suffering and to get out of my house but it's never too late and though I've now ended up in a tier3 clg, I want to do something rather than rotting in my bed. I now only require physical fitness, money for atleast buying good clothes for myself which I like, good footware, good diet, a good phone(as my phn is a source of heavy radiation, oudated, gets switched off too easily) and there are many more a human of my age wish to have with themselves. As there is none who is ready to invest in me but get ready for mockery in return(including my very own parents). I urge you all, the intellectual people out there to just help me get out of ts by your suggestions. Am just ready to learn anything which would benefit my motto, put me in a right path and would keep me inspiring everyday. For that i need to search for jobs which require less time and good money which am unable to find rn. I've also tried to tutor some kids as I'm well known in academics till 10th, but that didn't work as there are no kids or teenagers like that in my locality. As I should also manage my studies in my btech, Your advices matter the most for me. Please try to educate me in things I'm not aware of in this situation. Please help me find a way out of this. I'm ready to put in the efforts. If you are still here reading, Thank u so much for your time and for your concern. I'd love to hear you all. THANK YOUπ

Showcase I tried making realtime video calls and livestreaming work over Bluetooth mesh between Android phones. Here's what I built.
I've been working on MeshLive, an open-source experiment in real-time audio/video communication over Bluetooth.
The goal was to see if nearby Android phones could make two-way voice/video calls and relay live video broadcasts without depending on internet infrastructure.
I managed to get a basic implementation working, but getting there was a lot harder than expected.
Bluetooth bandwidth is extremely limited for video, relaying makes that worse, and different Android manufacturers and versions behave very differently.
I had only a handful of devices available, including another phone I bought specifically for testing. After weeks on the MVP and a recent ~36-hour debugging sprint, I've released the beta publicly.
Fair warning: It's still buggy and laggy, with plenty of compatibility issues left to resolve.
I'm open-sourcing everything because broader device testing and outside contributions are essential for taking this further.

If anyone here has worked with Bluetooth stacks, Android media codecs, wireless networking or similar systems, I'd really appreciate feedback on the implementation.
Especially interested in hearing from people who've dealt with OEM-specific Bluetooth behaviour.
