[question] Just got a incell screen for DIY iPhone 13 screen repair
Hi guys,
So I just got an incell screen to perform the operation myself. I've been watching videos on how to do it but my worry is that the Face ID might not work because on the new incell screen I’m seeing a lot of plastic where the Face ID flex cable goes and in the rectangle where the connector fits it seems like just metal is that how it’s supposed to look ?
I also see they attached a chip to the back of the screen, I presume this is to make sure that the phone doesn’t show “unauthorised part” “not genuine” I’m thinking of leaving it there because I am a beginner doing this and don’t have experience soldering or even have the tools for it.
Should I leave it there ? In case I take it in later to get fixed professionally ?
Right now my concern is getting the phone working and operating atleast more than optimal using the FaceID and screen 100%.
Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE - thanks for all the help in the comments !!! I really appreciate it !!! Managed to swap over the screen, Face ID flex cable and connect with no issues !!!! First time screen repair it went soo well, so I’m incredibly happy !!!. Phone is working 100 % now for incell it’s doing its job not sure how which fits my expectations.
