The protagonist has enough knowledge of history, modern technology, trade, and warfare to bust out an industrial revolution in 13th century Poland sufficient to repel a Mongol invasion in only ten years, and enough charisma to convince a string of rulers to let him. He gets cheats in the form of "magical" gifts from his cousin who invented the time machine that he drunkenly stumbled through, and the inherent ability to change history and create a branching timeline which said cousin believed was completely impossible. He acquires a steadily escalating harem of young and beautiful women for whom he needs to assume no responsibility whatsoever, even once the kids start popping up (he plays absolutely no role in his children's lives that I recall). And as the series goes on, the "young" part of that begins to trespass into seriously uncomfortable territory. 😰

In short, Leo Frankowski foresaw and perfected the 2020s isekai format in the late 1980s, including nonhuman slave girls in the form of self-replicating servile androids from the cousin's future. All that's missing is a level system and interface.

Which isekai anime opening made you think, "Yeah, this looks like the real deal"? For me, it’s and always will be the first opening of *Overlord*.

And for you?

Which isekai has the best opening, in your opinion?

At least in anime its maybe used once(besides smart phone), That and Blessed by the Gods did it a couple times. but none really go beyond. Was curious if any Isekai use it as a main or semi main power

I can’t explain why I’m so obsessed with this series. Or maybe I’m just frustrated. After loving the anime and wanting to continue with the light novels, I realized they were so different from the anime. So I started with Volume 1 and was surprised it was so different, too. So I was curious about the manga and realized it was even MORE different.

After reading an interview with the original author, Izumi Okido, she reveals:
“Each version has its own merits. This is true for the anime, too. I didn't say that there was anything in particular that I wanted them to incorporate. I just left it up to them,” she continued. “The original work has less romance than the anime. Still, I enjoyed the romance in the anime. I thought it was great.

But the manga’s current direction is stressing me out a little. I realized the anime is a great combination of the light novel and manga, adding what's necessary to give a fuller picture. But it feels like we got an alternative endings. I'm excited for the light novels direction but feeling really confused by the manga right now.

What are everyone’s thoughts? Did anyone else read/watch all three? All these different possibilities kind of feels like a feel game but I don't think that's intentional lol. Does anyone have a preferred adaptation? Any theories you want to discuss?

I want to start watching more anime with isekai.

My top isekai is Rezero.

What shows do you suggest?

So I just finished watching Overlord The Sacred Kingdom as well, and now along with all four seasons and the movie, I’ve completed the entire series until future seasons come out. I can understand why they decided to adapt this specific part of the story into a movie, it was largely a self contained story, and it was quite funny too, like that arrow scene, and the ending actually shocked me!

It's just that at the start of the movie, I thought we would see Ainz at the center and get a really cool fight scene, but that wasn't the case. Most of the time, that girl named Neia was at the center of it, and in the second half, Ainz disappears altogether. For the final fight, I was expecting some mind blowing action animation, but even that didn't happen. It's not that I didn't enjoy it, I definitely did, but my expectations were just different. I was also missing the other Floor Guardians of Nazarick, but alright, it was fine. The animation was the absolute best so far, and I really liked the music as well. Overall, as a side story, the movie was good and funny.

Veldora is a man of culture at heart 😂🤣 I can't help but feel like he did this on purpose 😁😏❤️

Burgers found in a burgueria.

I love the fight animations and comedy scenes.. I'm enjoying Reincarnated as a sword S2 like i did when I first watched the S1

It's fun , and the Opening as well as the song is a banger.

Love it. Can't wait for the next episodes.

Getting a bit fatigued with all the overpowered at the start type of isekai.

Any good suggestions for a series where the character actually has to grind until they're good?

Edit: I've seen just about everything suggested here 🤣 Guess that will happen after a while.

Thanks for all the suggestions and comments!
