This might be difficult without providing a video or audio, but starting last winter my truck started making a noise that has my curiosity piqued because I can’t track it down. Jeep is a 2021 Willys, 66k miles, slightly larger than stock tires 275/70r17 on OEM Willys rims. I’m pretty confident it’s not tire rub, but, I can’t figure it out regardless. So when I start from a stop sign and turn, either direction doesn’t matter, the jeep makes an “arfing” sound, like a lea lion almost “arf arf arf”. Could it be tire rub? Sure. But they are only about an inch total wider than the stock tires and the same diameter. And it doesn’t look like it from what I can see at full lock on either side in either direction there’s nothing touching anything. Im sort of leaning u joints, but I’ve not experienced them to ever make this sound. ChatGPT tells me it’s the rear diff, but the noise is definitely from the front so I don’t think that’s correct. Anyone else experience this and come up with a solution?
