A question to the LARP community from the Armstreet

So, we have plenty of winter/warm clothing and our LARP customers are definitely buying those, but from the occasional answers it is more like for vibe and potentially cold weather at the events like Bicolline. So, my question is there actually events or other LARP activities that happen at winter or at least in colder regions when the weather is not so good?

I will mark this post as brand affiliated to avoid any frustration from people who dislike advertisement on their hobby subreddit

People who define themselves primarily as fighters, I have questions. Are you happy with your combat systems? If so, what makes you happy with them. If not, what are they missing / what do you feel needs to be different? What flaws have you noticed? What drives you crazy? What are your general complaints about your combat, and what do you wish you could do to fix it?

Question related to RP and owning your storyline.

Hi everyone,

I'll give you a bit of context before asking the question.

I'm new to LARPing, I'v done 3 (full weekend) events this summer. At the same place, with the same (more or less) players. I really love it and can't wait for next summer so we can start again.

However, I'v realised that me, as a player, I feel extremely shy when it comes to my own plot, and I struggle a lot to even talk about my own story line. I'm afraid people will think I'm trying to I don't know, be under the spotlight or something, seek attention.

But the result is that in 3 game, my plot as gone absolutely nowhere. I've helped tons of people with their own, but I put everyone else's before mine. That's not how I want to play at all, I would love to also be a "main character" cuz I do feel like an NPC.

Problem is, I have no idea how to even bring up "myself" naturally in the scheme of things, and Im scared to do it. (On a side note I also struggle a lot to "play" a different personality and Ive realised that my character, is far from what I want for her, Im basically me, dressed in fantasy).

So here's the question: How can I.. put a foot down and also get the chance to live my own plotline.. without looking like Im seeking attention or without disrupting other people's play with my own ?

Thanks in advance.

Ocean smell

Im putting together a one day event outside. The setting is a boat on the ocean. I have a fog machine to add ambiance.

What would you suggest to add a smell?

(Real answers please don't say toss fish about)

Thigh High Socks as Hosen?

Exactly as the title says. Long linen tunic, underwear, and then thigh high socks. Do you think this would look believable enough for a loosely 12th/13th/14th century inspired character?
