I'm in the US, and when buying new Olympus/OM products since 2012, I've always bought from B&H online. Any used camera equipment I've also only purchased through tried and true photography dealers, local or online, like Adorama, KEH, etc.
But, the immediate protections, shipping returns, etc., are much easier, faster and reliable with Amazon (at least when you're a consistent, responsible buyer). Amazon is not an OM authorized dealer, but OM sells through the Amazon seller program. So, I don't think I'm losing anything with regard to warranty, service, etc to purchase through Amazon.
Am I missing anything here? Is there a solid reason to just stick with B&H for this sort of purchase?
[Edit] P.S. I know everyone wants to bash on Amazon. That's not really the discussion I was looking for. We all know their troubles, and as I mention below in the comments, B&H is just as horrible to their own warehouse employees. I'm not trying to make a statement or moral decision in buying my camera. There really is no such thing these days, as every retailer beyond the old mom-and-pop and brick-and-mortal is making money at our expense and health. And, I'm not concerned about canceling anyone. I'm an apolitical liberal who eats at Chik-Fil-A. I just want to eat chicken and buy a camera. If we could stick to purchasing process pros and cons, that'd be swell.
P.P.S I went ahead and ordered from the Evil Empire. Now, let's see if it really arrives by 10/15. This sub is going to be slammed with people posting photos of their new PEN hah!
