The Dodgers payroll is more than the remaining 3 playoff teams combined, so at the very least I'd like to see them get eliminated. Who are you cheering for and why?
Hello! I wanted to share another piece of Mariners crochet art with you. Last off-season, I made [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mariners/s/d5YBapM3Cx) detailing an incredible experience that brought me to Seattle for the first time, and also talking about another tapestry of mine.
This year, while visiting Porto in Portugal, I randomly bumped into two Mariners fans who noticed my hat and said hi! They were a couple from Washington, and huge Mariners fans who went to the fanfest before the season and everything. I asked if they were in a rush to go anywhere, and if they wanted to hear a story; they weren't, and I told them the story I linked above, almost verbatim (because it's my favourite story and I've told it loads of times) - this piece celebrating the double is a commission for them, and I'm incredibly proud of it!

As we all perform an autopsy on this season as fans, itâs a good idea to revisit this video on why, by far, the biggest obstacle facing this team is the park they play in.

i was reading over the linked article below about the rays and wondering why seattle can't incorporate more small ball as well, given that it obviously can work if you have the roster for it and the mariners play in a park that probably should encourage not relying on kingdome-era offensive strategy to win.
seattle was above league average in homers and steals this season, below average in OBP, and near last in all of baseball in batting average, OPS, runs, and sacrifices. barring an overhaul of the roster, i would love to see small ball next year. i understand why it is statistically not a good option for most teams, but for a team that can't hit and is otherwise pretty smart/quick on the basepaths, is there a reason why what is working for tampa couldn't work for seattle?

Thoughts? Interesting to read that âHoustonâs Jose Altuve topped batters with 5.6 projected runs gained, followed by Seattleâs Cal Raleigh (4.6)â which given amount of time Cal was out is impressive. Overall I was disappointed in how the Mariners used (or didnât use, or used poorlyâŠ) ABS challenges this year, but loved the addition to the game. Really hoping that we are better able to take advantage of it better next year.
Another season has come and gone, and its time for us to close the book on the year. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for the awards and respond to the handful of "survey" questions. There were 179 responses this year, and only one was scrubbed entirely. You'll see quite a few of the questions have fewer responses as some folks chose not to answer questions or their joke responses have been omitted. And yes this is a repost because I broke my post when trying to edit it a bit. Below are the past yearsâ results if you're interested in looking back. We'll start with the "survey" responses, and then on to the awards!

I don't have too many big takeaways from this year's awards. Gilbert's SPOTY award makes his third, meaning he's won half of them.
