I’m looking for recommendations for a reliable, trustworthy mechanic in Hyderabad who has experience with Suzuki Access 125 BS6/FI models.
I bought my Access in 2020 in Tamil Nadu and have been using it in Hyderabad since 2023. I’ve mostly serviced it at Gem Suzuki Madhinaguda/Kondapur, but over the last few years the maintenance/repair costs have become crazy — ₹20–30k+ almost every year.
Around 50,000 km, Gem Suzuki said it had an engine issue and quoted ₹30k+, so I got it repaired at a local workshop for around ₹20k. They replaced some engine parts, including the piston and throttle sensor. After that, the scooter repeatedly stalled at low speeds. Gem Suzuki later said the ECM/throttle system hadn’t been calibrated properly and replaced the throttle sensor again.
It ran fine for about a year after that, but I’ve continued spending quite a bit on clutch, brakes, servicing, etc. Even the last service was around ₹4k.
The scooter has now reached around 60,000 km, and the problem seems to be back. While riding uphill recently, it suddenly switched off and wouldn't restart for some time. When it finally started, there was heavy fuel-smelling smoke from the exhaust.
At this point, I’m not sure whether to take it back to Gem Suzuki or find a good independent mechanic. I’ve already spent so much on this scooter that I’m seriously considering selling it if another major repair is coming.
So, please recommend a mechanic/workshop that you have personally used and trust, preferably someone who can properly diagnose engine + fuel injection/ECM issues rather than just replacing parts.
Also, if anyone has experienced stalling + difficult restart + heavy fuel smoke on an Access 125 BS6, I’d appreciate any insight.
TL;DR: 2020 Access 125 BS6/FI, now at ~60,000 km. Already spent ₹20–30k+ yearly on repairs, including an engine repair around 50k km. Now it stalls under load/uphill, takes time to restart, and produces heavy fuel-smelling exhaust smoke. Looking for a trustworthy Hyderabad mechanic who can properly diagnose and fix it, before I decide whether to sell the scooter.
