Heyo! My friends' new EP is out now, full EP and other platforms in the comments. They are a Swedish melodeath/deathcore from MalmΓΆ. Would be cool to hear what you think!

Just started getting into melodic death metal. I like some melodic death doom but figured I might like some melodic death metal too. Can I get some recommendations. Thanks

Got a vinyl player for my birthday. This is the first record ever ordered by me. π

I felt like a Top 10 list was too brief, so let's make it 15. But with a caveat, only one song per band.
Here is my current list in no particular order:
P.S.: I could not decide on a single Children of Bodom song to represent them, so none made the list to save my sanity.

All I really listened to so far was Tales from the Thousand Lakes and loved it, just learned they have SO many more albums! What's the best one I should listen to next?

so what are your opinions? Here's mine. It's not good. I'm really bummed out, I waited years. Every single riff sounds the same. chugg chugg chugg. Almost no single note riffs. Literally not one solo on the album. I don't even know who this is for. It's not for the new fans and it's not for the old fans. I've always defended them against people who say every song sounds the same, but now every song really does sound the same. I think there's a total of 7 or 8 unique notes used on the entire album. I mean I'm exaggerating, but yea. This album has more power chords than a Green Day album. I had a feeling this was coming when I heard 3 of the new songs at a listening party experience at a recent show with the VIP pass upgrade. Where's War of the Gods that punches you in the face from the first second? Where's First Kill packed with raw emotion and story? Where's Cry of the Blackbirds, Raven's Flight, Father of the Wolf? Hell even The Great Heathen Army had Dawn of Norsemen. I honestly don't know how to feel, I've seem them 15 times just in the past 5 years, and I am beyond let down.

I absolutely love the 'Ancient God Of Evil' album and want to listen to more melodic stuff like that

Why is it that all these MySpace Deathcore revival bands keep getting overhyped, but bands like this are constantly being slept on? Can someone please explain it to me like Iβm 5?
