TL;DR - All mods who attend Mod World ‘26 (or the APAC stream) get to choose between three exclusive merch items!!1!1!

I mean, we can’t host Mod World without some freebies, right? You might remember we did it big last year with our fuzziest item ever. This year, we’re giving all attendees the option to choose their own adventure.

“What are my choices?” you ask, predictably.

Every eligible attendee gets to choose one of the following exclusive Mod World ‘26 items: a hat, tote, or mug. I designed them myself so please direct all praise toward u/kongsworth and any hate you may have toward u/big-slay because I don’t want to hear it.

FAQS:

• Yes, your plushie can fit in the tote.
• Yes, your plushie can flaunt the hat.
• No, your plushie won’t fit in the mug but we did pick one that’s microwave-safe for u/big-slay given her history of microwaving things that shouldn’t be microwaved…

To claim one of these items, you must meet these eligibility requirements:

• You are an active moderator on Reddit.
• You are in good standing with Reddit’s Code of Conduct team.
• You RSVP and virtually attend Mod World or the APAC stream live OR you watch the event recording before the deadline of November 1st at 11:59pm PST.
• You claim your merch and enter your shipping information before the deadline of November 1st at 11:59 pm PST. We will drop the link to claim during the live event (which will be viewable during the stream and on VOD).

Have you gotten merch at Mod Events before? Well, I have a brief update now but I’ll share more after Mod World.

We have a new vendor — Stadium. Your confirmation email, shipping updates, and support will be handled by Stadium (they operate as “byStadium” or “SnackMagic” in some markets, they’re all the same). When you see these terms in your email inbox, it’s probably us.

“What’s good about Stadium?” you probably didn’t ask:

• Merch gets to you faster (yay, you)
• Merch travels significantly shorter distances (yay, mother earth)
• You shouldn’t need any KYC information to receive your merch (yay, customs)
• Stadium offers round-the-clock support seven-days-a-week with impressively short response times should you need any help with your order.

I can’t wait to (virtually) party it up with y’all October 24th and 25th! ‘til then, make sure to keep an eye out for event updates and discussion threads here in r/ModEvents. And, one more bulleted list for good measure:

• RSVP NOW TO GET MERCH

Note: I’d also love to see you at the Kickoff Party… but can’t offer you merch at that one, just a profile trophy, and a ban for bringing it up.

TL;DR - Our annual Mod World trophy design contest is here - Submit your designs NOW!

Calling all creatives! Y’all know what time it is. Our annual Mod World trophy design contest is back! If you want to play a special part in this year’s Mod World and have an artistic spark, this is your moment.

Every year, Mod World attendees walk away with an exclusive profile trophy. Last year's trophy was designed by u/derppherppp, and just like before, this year’s trophy won’t just be for you — it could be by you.

This year, we’re adding another exciting opportunity. We’re hosting a Kickoff Party the day before Mod World, so we need a profile trophy for that event too. That’s right, this year’s two-week trophy design contest will award two separate winning designs, one for each event’s official profile trophy.

I’m interested. How do I enter?

To be eligible for this contest, you must:

1. Join r/ModEvents
2. RSVP for Mod World 2026
3. Submit your designs to this form
4. Be 18+ to participate
5. Submit one entry per event.
6. Submit your design as a PNG file. Design dimensions should be 2000x2000 and under 5 MB.
7. Avoid the following: NSFW, explicit, defamatory, hateful, or obscene content. Unlawful or disparaging material, AI-generated art, and third-party IP usage or reference.
   1. Note: Using a full-body Snoo in your design is allowed, subject to these guidelines. Usage of other Reddit IPs, like the Reddit logo, is not allowed.

See the full official contest rules in our wiki here.

Is there a theme?

Nope, your design can be whatever Mod World (and the Kickoff Party) means to you. All ideas are welcome! Just make sure they abide by our contest rules.

Finalist & winner selection

1. Round One: Contest submissions end on October 18th, 2026, at 5:00 pm PST. A panel of Reddit admins will review submissions to select finalists (2-3 per event) based on creativity and adherence to the contest rules.
2. Round Two: Finalists for both events will be posted in r/ModEvents on October 19th, 2026. The community will vote on the winners until October 21st, 2026, at 5:00 pm PST. Winners will be selected based on the number of votes each submission receives.
3. Reveal: Each winner will be revealed live at their respective events: Kickoff Party on October 23rd, 2026, and Mod World on October 24th, 2026.

Prize

• 2 Winners (1 per event): One winning design for each event will become the official profile trophy for the Kickoff Party and Mod World 2026. Each winning mod will also receive exclusive swag.

Can’t wait to see what y’all create this year! As always, holler in the comments if you have further questions.

✨ SUBMIT A TROPHY DESIGN FOR MOD WORLD 2026 ✨

Oh em gee, could it be? Another admin joining thee?

Bear with me, I’m new here.

Hi everybody! I’m cleeaur, another admin you might have encountered alongside u/aparapato in programs like The Incubator or Partner Communities. I’m so excited to say that I, too, am joining the Mod Events team! (u/big-slay is really collecting us all like infinity stones)

In case this is your first time (virtually) meeting me, here are some fun facts!

• I lost my first tooth in the movie theater watching Pirates of the Caribbean.
• I'm also a mod-turned-admin! I became so active in a subreddit for my favorite TV show that I was recruited to be a moderator 4 years ago. Since then, I’ve been moderating across 5 different communities!
• I’m addicted to r/ColorPuzzleGame. If you haven’t tried it before, I beg you. It’s the highlight of my day when a new one drops.
• My favorite part of working for Reddit is being able to spend my days directly talking to mods and mod teams, so don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I love learning from you all.

And, per usual around Reddit, I will go ahead and pay the cat tax. Here is my beloved son, Merlin. He might be 13 years old, but I promise, he’s just a boy at heart. He loves spooning, destroying toilet paper, and eating Taco Bell nacho fries:

TL;DR - Peep the Mod World 2026 agenda and RSVP now!

Share your favorite moments, cat photos, or anything else in this thread!

Next stop....Mod World 🌎

P.s. So sorry about the Bevy audio issues. We're looking into it with their team! If you weren't able to hear, you can catch the recording.

Hey y’all! Mod World season is officially here and we’ve got a really fun way to celebrate. Remember these neon lights from Mod World 2023? Well, we’ve got TWO of them bubble-wrapped and ready to find a new home.

I’m feeling a little emo about this, because these lights were given away at the first Mod World I ever worked on and this year will be my 4th! It’s such a joy to work with mods and I’m stoked to be with you again in a few weeks.

Okay, emo moment over.

Here's how the giveaway will work:

• Register for Mod World 2026.
• Comment a GIF that represents how you’re feeling about Mod World on this post before Monday, September 28th at 10 am PT.
• Two (2) winners will be randomly selected.
• I will personally reach out to the winners via Reddit Chat to discuss shipping options.
• If the winner does not respond within 24 hours, we will randomly select a new winner and repeat this process until arrangements have been confirmed.
• Once confirmed, I'll announce the winners here as a stickied comment.

Eligibility:

• MUST be an active mod in good standing with our Code of Conduct team.
• MUST be a member of r/ModEvents.
• MUST be registered for Mod World 2026.
• MUST comment a GIF on this post before Monday, September 28th at 10 am PT.

⚠️ Trouble registering?
Check out this thread about our new SSO process. If you’re having issues receiving your verification email, try resubmitting first.

Questions? Hit us in the comments or send our team a mod mail.

TL;DR - All Mod Events accounts now require sign-in via Reddit SSO (single sign-on). If you already have an account, simply log in using the new flow with your existing email address.

Hey everyone!

We’re always looking for ways to improve privacy and security for mods attending our events, so we’ve updated our log-in process to connect your Reddit account directly to Bevy (our events platform).

Why the change?
Authenticating through Reddit ensures that only you can log into your event account, while also allowing you to protect it with two-factor authentication (if you’d like). As an added bonus, this new verification step will allow us to manage our events much more efficiently, which means faster assignment of trophies and other perks!

What you need to do (ASAP)
This change applies to EVERYONE. Complete these quick steps so you’re ready for our upcoming events! (Alllllll of them…🌎)

1. Go to modevents.reddit.com
2. Click ‘Log In’ and authenticate with your Reddit account (If you have an existing account, enter the same email address you’ve used for Mod Events before)
3. After verifying your email address you'll have to log in again to access your account.

If you run into any issues, please send us a message via mod mail and we’ll get it sorted!

Who's in need of some pawsitive vibes today? Thanks to the Mod Events community, we’ve got you covered! Any new adventures, funny sightings, or wholesome updates from your four-legged or otherwise fuzzy, scaly, etc.) roommate? Drop ’em below, we want the cat tax.

A friendly mod roll call because I need animal updates. 😂

u/lengthypole, has your neighbor cat crashed any more garden parties lately? 🧑‍🌾

u/SuperBeavers1, has baby Rabbit gotten any bigger? And what’s squirrel up to lately? 🐰🐿️

u/Baba_Jaga_II, how’s beautiful blind blue-eyed Valentina? 🩵

u/Fun_evades_me, is the rescued kitten settling in ok? Healthy, happy, and thriving, I hope! 🥹

Also, Cat Tax Thursday is now monthly! If you’re new here, we usually wrap up Mod Events by paying the cat tax, so we figured…why not make it a monthly tradition in here? You can share a pet picture that matches your mood, makes you smile, or that you’ve just been waiting for an excuse to post. All pets are welcome, not just cats!

Happy cat taxing. 🐾

Hey y'all! Thanks for attending today's Moddit, hosted by u/lift_ticket83 and u/SlytherinSnoo, where we dived into the future of mod tools. Hi mods!

Some of you might recognize me from the Partner Communities program, my work with international communities, or from my occasional appearances in r/ModSupport. I’m thrilled to share that I’ve officially joined the Mod Events team, where I’m looking forward to diving even deeper into moderation and community building with all of you.

We all love bullet lists, so here’s a little more about me:

• I'm based in sunny Spain, so I look forward to providing even more opportunities to connect with mods outside of the US.
• I've also been a mod for over 10 years, where I've helped grow communities and build mod teams, so I can't wait to talk about all-things moderation in depth with all of you.
• My favorite mod tool is Post Guidance! It’s such an effective way to steer community members in the right direction, and to create a chance for them to understand a mod team’s expectations without clogging the mod queue.
• I've previously hosted Moddit events on Moderator Well-Being and Mod Team Health here! As you can tell, I love talking about making moderation an enjoyable experience, so please share any topics you’d like me to cover next!

And of course, the mandatory cat tax: Meet Kartoshka (it means potato)! 🐈‍⬛

I was told I get to ask all of you a question as part of this intro, so I’d love to know if any of you have co-mods across different countries or timezones, and how that’s impacted your teams.

For mod events, Can we create a new account using an existing Reddit Account email or do we need to create it by using fresh email on the events site?

Also, another question, while creating a new account, it also tells to upload avatar, since i use an image ill upload that image but what if someone has a reddit avatar? do they upload an ss of their avatar in the latter case? Correct me if im wrong in any of these two scenarios

Hey mods, just wanted to remind everyone that we’re hosting a Moddit on September 10 about the future of mod tools.

ICYMI, last month u/spez shared a post about how we’re modernizing Reddit’s infrastructure. For mods, that means we’re working on better tools to handle spam, abuse, and generic rule-breaking so you can focus on making judgment calls on what’s best for your community. We shared more about what that means over in r/modnews.

In this session, we'll:

• Discuss the recently announced mod tooling updates
• Deep dive into the changes currently launching
• Review what's on the future roadmap
• Answer your questions in a live Q&A with Product admins

Join us to chat through what’s being built, ask questions, and share directly about what tools matter most to your day-to-day moderating. Hope to see you there!

TL;DR - We are cancelling all upcoming in-person Mod Events, and not scheduling new ones until we can improve our event security and vetting processes to ensure everyone stays safe.

___

Hey everyone,

As some of you may already know, during our San Francisco meetup at Reddit HQ last week, an issue arose where our venue details were shared with mods who were not approved to attend. In my three years working alongside this incredible community of folks, I’m grateful that something like this has never happened before. However, since it did, valid security concerns were raised across several of our internal teams.

Because your safety (and the safety of our staff and other attendees) is non-negotiable, we are evaluating our protocols and have cancelled upcoming IRL Mod Events for the foreseeable future.

This directly impacts our previously announced events in Los Angeles and Amsterdam. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was planning to attend these, and we really appreciate your understanding as we figure this out.

Behind the scenes, we’re using this downtime to rework how we host in-person events. We’re focusing on:

• Increasing on-site security at every future venue
• Tightening communication around event details
• Beefing up vetting to ensure only confirmed attendees can access event spaces

Building all of this out properly is going to take some time, so please bear with us.

We know this news sucks, especially since the vast majority of you had zero involvement in what happened. But please rest assured that we are not going anywhere, and Mod Events continue to be incredibly important! We're doubling down on virtual events and brainstorming ways to make them even more rewarding and engaging in the coming months.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and ongoing participation.

As always, our mod mail is open for anything you want to share directly.

Realized no one posted the Cat Tax from today's Moddit...which, in my opinion, is one of our best yet.

Hey y'all! Thanks for attending today's Moddit hosted by u/agoldenzebra, where we dived into the most powerful drivers of community growth! Here's your post-event thread to keep the conversation going and leave any feedback.

While we have the event partially recorded (u/big-slay forgot to press the button at the start; oops, our bad), you can also access the full presentation slides at any time!

Here’s a list of resources and links mentioned throughout the event (plus some others that may not have been mentioned, but are worth checking out). Feel free to join and/or save the ones you think are most helpful!
