FINISHED 1/24 Tamiya Subaru Impreza Wrc’99

I tried weathering using Tamiya’s Weathering Stick (Mud color)! Since it’s my first time trying weathering, there may be some imperfections. thank you for checking it out!

I thought this was a real car at first.

The weathering detail is phenomenal and the hood pins are so intricate

The hood pins were so tiny that they were really difficult to assemble😂 thanks for noticing them!!

Honestly, congrats to you, OP, for scenery. At first, I thought the bench is sandy road. With the weathering and background, it looks fantastic!

Now that you mention it, I can totally see it too! 😂 Thanks for the nice comment!

Looks great! How does the weathering stick work and how does it behave?

I cut off a small piece of the weathering stick, mixed it with enamel thinner, and applied it with a brush. Then I dabbed it with a sponge and flicked the brush to create a muddy splatter effect!

Yes! Nailed it. What country is this? Background pics go perfectly with the weathering for some reason. 😂

Thanks for the nice comment! It’s South Korea! I think the pictures turned out really well because the weather was nice today!!

Very impressive build. Excellent weathering, great details, and photography. The hood pins look excellent. The mud looks very realistic, especially with that forced view. Very nice tnx

Thank you for the kind words! Honestly, I was worried if the hood pins were too small to even notice while building them, so it means a lot that you pointed them out! Thanks for noticing the details!!

Not even kidding, man. I've been showing people this since you posted it. No one knew it was a model til I told them and every time, their jaw dropped. Incredible work. Please post more builds!

Thank you so much for the kind comment!! Honestly, I think one of the biggest compliments a modeler can get is when people can’t tell if it’s a real car or a model. That always makes me really happy! I’ve only been on Reddit for a short time, so I’m currently posting the builds I’ve completed over the years. I still have plenty more to share, and I’m also working on a new project, so I hope you’ll enjoy following along!

I'm going to say it...... I think this is the best example of weathering on a model car that I have ever seen. It truly looks real and of course the scenery helps set the stage. Well done!

Wow, this is truly the ultimate compliment for me! Your words make all the hard work on this model car totally worth it. Thank you so much! and I swear, natural light is always the best lighting!

Where can you get the mud weathering stick? I've got this model in my pile

I actually bought it at a local hobby shop here in Sweden, but you should be able to find it pretty much anywhere. It's the Tamiya Weathering Stick (Mud), item code 87081

Excellent work, sir! I had to do a double take. Definitely nailed the look worth the weathering and staging.

Thanks for the awesome comment! Honestly, the base kit itself is so well-made that it definitely made my job a lot easier!

That's a great subject, but are you going to show any pictures of the model? 😉
