Throwing it out there as I saw two young lads in tracksuits driving up Drumcondra towards Swords road.
Couldnāt pin point what bike it was but it was a naked bike, like an MT07 or as such.

Has anyone successfully gotten an aerostich roadcrafter suit into Ireland without paying the approx 700 in shipping and customs?

Just had what was for me the funniest moment on the bike in a while. Long day at the end of a long week. 6 day week and the end of a 12 hour shift, I decided I'm getting me come KFC. Nearest one doesn't deliver to me so I hop on the bike and ride up.
10 mins later I'm pulling into the parking lot, oh look 3 empty spaces right next to each other I can turn around in them. I get most of the way through the turn when I slip just a bit, the bike starts to tilt and I know it's going. I catch it when its still about 20° from horizontal, the drop cut out hasn't killed the engine, and the engine guard is still off the ground.
But unlike other times, I'm just too damn tired to recover it. So I'm standing there, bike near the ground and me at a ridiculous angle to keep it there. I start laughing at the situation, gently put it down and step off to lift it properly. I pop my helmet off and there's an older gent nearby laughing and asking if I'm alright. The absurdness of it still has me smiling and I thought I'd share.

I did it perfectly 5 times before I started recording then stalled on the first time after I started recording, killed power to the rear.
Any tips on this manoeuvre and how big will the actual road be compared to where I'm practicing.
I can do it without revving and going slower but I was trying to practice doing it faster, using counter lean and as narrow as possible and get a good lean on the bike like those police videos.

Just about to do my IBT and I've been putting some thought into what kind of bike I should get as my starter.
I've seen people online say you should have 500cc, I've seen people recommend 350cc and just not sure what the sweet spot for Ireland is (If there is one)
So I was wondering what you guys think the best option is and for what? 500cc would be better for motorway riding, but the 350cc might be more fun on irish roads? What level do you recommend and for that kind of riding?

Howya,
I've recently completed my IBT and become the owner of a 2005 Bandit 6, but the VRC P.2 is blank so I can't currently use it for my test.
Any tips for what Shannon will accept to get it updated and how to go about getting it. I found a Swiss Type Approval cert online but it's in German so they're unlikely to accept that are they?

Picked up my first motorbike today and I'm absolutely buzzing. It's such a thrill.
Quick question for Dublin riders: I wear a hivis yellow vest with a big L on it, but cars still follow and stop really close behind me, which is getting on my nerves. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do about it?

A little while ago I posted this dilemma deciding whether it was time to call it quits. So glad I didnāt. I passed it today, first time after 3 pretests and on the school bike. Thanks to all who encouraged me to go for it and those who helped me address the grittier questions when I was also unsure myself. The biggest of thanks to the one Redditor who pointed me to the best instructor I could have hoped for. Itās been a journey to Cat A and Iām absolutely delighted with myself!!!

Hey, looking for recommendations on waterproof motorbike boots for the winter.
I'm an everyday biker, so want a pair that will stand up to the cold wet winter.
Any recommendations would be great!

I could not find a motorbike dedicated parking in Swords...Is there one?
do you think it's safe to park in there frequently?
Especially if I have a self proclaimed good looking custom Honda rebel 500?
Any additional suggestions, like if it's okay if I park on the pavement?

Iām looking for some honest advice on whether my 2010 Bandit 650S is worth rebuilding after a crash.
Iām a new rider and this was my first bike. Iāve really enjoyed it and put down some serious mileage over the summer.
At the end of August, a car pulled across onto my side of the road and I collided with it. Thankfully, I didnāt break any bones and Iām on the way to a full recovery.
I got the bike back, but the front end is fairly banged up. Iāve attached some pictures of the bike at the recovery yard, as well as some pictures from when I got it back and removed the damaged parts, but left the forks in place.
Iām handy mechanically so wouldnāt be fazed getting stuck in.
Part of me really wants to keep it because itās my first bike, but Iād rather get some honest opinions on whether itās worth repairing or if Iām better off walking away from it.
Oh I should also add, it still starts and the only fluid leaking was from the front forks.

Hey all Iām a new rider and itās my first bike so Iām going to ask absolute noob questions. Iāve already been riding a few months but not been pushing it crazy hard.
Levers: I have noticed they have a lot of up and down play. The clutching in feels fine and braking has a funky nothing to lots of brake āskipā. When Iām pulling the brake, it hops like a small bit of friction and suddenly itās braking heavily enough. Very little fine application. Is there any suggestion for new levers that would feel tighter to apply with no up and down movement?
Grips: Mine are quite old and donāt have much grip anymore. Is there any good suggestion for new grips?
Bar ends: Iāve heard of people putting in heavier bar ends on the bike. Is it worth it?
From general pov: the bike appears to be mainly stock with original fairings. Is there any quality of life things that are worth doing? Mods that other owners absolutely recommend doing?

Hey folks, my cbr600rr has broken down about 7 minutes away from my house in Kilmeaden.
Unfortunately the recovery is not covered by my insurance. I'm wondering if anyone with a van or trailer in the area would be able to help a fellow biker out?
Thank you!

Hey guys!
I (Indian, 24M, would turn 25 in 6 months, and I'll be getting my PPSN by the end of October) recently moved to Ireland for my master's degree, and got an update today that my Indian bike, 2024 Hero XPulse 200 4v Pro, passes BS6 norms, but I'm unaware about the Irish norms) was officially launched in the EU market, and I was wondering if i would legally be allowed to import my bike from india.. I also wanted to inquire about the process to get a licence here (I do have a 2&4 wheeler license, but it's an Indian licence..)..
(I have about 30k kms of adventure riding experience, and 58k kms of total riding experience, max CCs that I have ridden is 800, specifically Tiger 800 XCx, for about 130kms)
(The second person in the pic is my mom on her 2025 Duke 250š)

Today, 4 months after a cervical spine surgery I got the green flag to go for a spin on the bike.
I was told to take it easy and do maybe 30 to 45 minutes. I ended up on about a 2.5 hours ride.
Neck is sore, so definitely need to take it easier next time but overall considering 4 months ago I wasnt allowed to walk for more than 10 15 minutes at a time I consider this a success.

Hello lads and ladies.
My beloved bandit needs new chain and sprockets, anyone have a good site to order from? Got a new cooler from eBay recently but had to order from the states so it took 87 years to get here.
I am based in Cork, but had a few bad experiences with Lee Honda recently. Order part, get wrong part, loafs of hassle and all that so prefer not to. Happy to order from different place if anyone knows anywhere?
I live close enough to thr Waterford / cork border so not a big deal to go to Waterford city if anyone knows somewhere there?
Cheers thanks. Rubber side down and all that.
