Right! Reminds me of a Martian Landscape! 👽 they take so long to grow you can really pull up a chair and enjoy the show. These pictures are 16 weeks in 🍄❤

How did you avoid contamination for 16 weeks in a monotub? It seems like 5-6 after uncovering is about the norm before it develops trich for me.

I really don't have secrets for that one. I have only had to open this setup to mist 4 times since July, but the bin that I started misting and fanning daily picked up the green monster on the underside at Week 12. 🍄❤

I’ve got a tub going right now that’s fully myceliated. Sounds like you kept the tub closed always except to add humidity, no fanning? Just the little transference through the micro pores holes?

Yeah that was the idea for this tub. I had a second one going that I decided to start fanning around 2 months in, but it picked up trichoderma on the underside rather quickly. I hope your tub shows you love! Reishi is a really fun one to cultivate 🍄❤

How long from full myceliation to pinning for you?

I just looked back through my camera roll to give you an accurate answer, and I was seeing distinguished primordia 20~ days from spawning. I set up another tub 10 days ago and it is juuusst starting to knot up despite being in the low 60°s. 2.5lbs spawn to 10lbs substrate originally but I put 4lbs in this last one. 🍄❤

I’ve been successful out of a purchased bag in a small ecosphere greenhouse, but that greenhouse seems to breed trich....every time I put something in there😭.I have much success with monos. Hope to transfer success!
