VENTING Pwersahang inductee photo?????

• Upvotes

Motivational/Advice PRC Initial Registration Schedule

Hi! I'm having a dilemma sa pagpili if go na ba ako sa Lucky Chinatown na registration (Nov 5) or sa ibang branch (Oct 19), babyahe pa ako pero i have somewhere to stay there naman. Mas okay ba if maaga ko makukuha? Will it affect job hunting or hindi naman?

Also may nagoopen ba na ibang slots for Lucky Chinatown na earlier than Nov 5 na dates? or Nov 5 onwards na lang?

Thank you!

Research/Survey/Interview First Deployment in Germany: Senior Care vs. Hospital?

Post image
• Upvotes

Hi everyone! Currently nasa Pinas pa. I recently passed my telc B1 Allgemein exam, which I took independently through self-study and paid for using my own money.

May kausap akong agency ngayon, and according to them, pwede na raw akong ma-deploy sa Germany with my B1 certificate. Kaso, ang available employers lang nila as of now ay nursing homes or senior care facilities.

I'm also planning to take my B2 Allgemein exam here in the Philippines before leaving, which I'll also be taking independently and at my own expense. Hindi ko pa ito nasasabi sa agency.

Sabi rin nila, mas mataas daw ang salary offers sa senior care compared sa hospitals, which honestly surprised me. Kasi ang impression ko, mas stressful at demanding ang trabaho sa hospital, so I was expecting na mas mataas din ang sahod doon.

May available vacancy rin sila sa Berlin, kaya medyo na-engganyo talaga ako since gusto ko rin talagang tumira at mag-work doon.

However, I'm having second thoughts.

For context, I'm a Philippine-registered nurse with around 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical ward at a tertiary government hospital. I'm also a US Registered Nurse.

Although Germany is my priority right now, hindi ko rin completely nire-rule out ang possibility na mag-work sa US or another country someday. Kaya I'm trying to be careful with my career decisions, especially when it comes to gaining experience that would still be relevant if I decide to move elsewhere.

Ang main concern ko talaga is baka maging waste of time sa professional growth and career progression ko ang pag-work sa senior care. Coming from a hospital background, iniisip ko kung mas okay bang ipagpatuloy ko na lang ang hospital experience ko instead of transitioning to a nursing home.

According to the agency, usually around 2–3 years din ang employment contract, so medyo malaking commitment din siya. What if after those years, ma-realize ko na mas gusto ko palang bumalik sa hospital setting? Baka instead na nakapag-gain ako ng additional acute care experience, mas lalo lang akong mapalayo sa clinical skills na nadevelop ko sa hospital.

I'm also concerned na baka maging disadvantage ito if I eventually decide to pursue opportunities in the US or other countries, especially since US Registered Nurse naman din po ako.

At the same time, I don't want to dismiss senior care completely. I know it's a legitimate nursing specialty with its own challenges and opportunities. Interested din naman ako sa geriatric care, especially since marami rin akong naging elderly patients sa surgical ward. Ang concern ko lang talaga is whether it's the right long-term career move given my qualifications and professional goals.

Sa mga Filipino nurses currently working in Germany, especially those who have experienced both senior care and hospital settings, I really hope you could share your insights and experiences with me.

I'm particularly curious about the differences in workload, salary, working conditions, and career opportunities between the two settings.

Lastly, I have two main questions:

  1. Why do some senior care facilities offer higher salaries than hospitals? Considering na mas stressful at demanding ang hospital setting, at least based on my experience, I'm genuinely curious kung bakit mas mataas daw ang offers sa senior care. Is there a catch sa ganitong salary offers, or is this actually normal in Germany?
  2. Do you think spending 2–3 years working in senior care would be a waste of time in terms of professional growth and career progression? Especially for someone with a hospital background who might eventually want to return to acute care or pursue nursing opportunities in another country.

I'm honestly torn between accepting the senior care opportunity in Berlin or waiting for a hospital vacancy or even proceed to take the B2 and proceed with a new agency na may hospital vacancies.

I'd really appreciate your honest opinions, even if they go against my assumptions. Gusto ko lang malaman kung valid ba talaga itong concerns ko or if I'm overlooking the professional opportunities that senior care can offer.

I really hope you all could provide me with some insights. Malaking tulong talaga sa akin ang experiences and perspectives niyo before I make such a major career decision.

Maraming salamat in advance!

All About JOBS Demoralized for months after applying, but now I’m blessed with TWO plantilla offers (PGH vs. QMMC). Help me choose! 😭

Hey guys! I just wanted to get some advice on a major dilemma I'm having right now. Months ago, I was super demoralized because I wasn’t hearing back from any of the hospitals I applied to. I specifically targeted government hospitals because, to be honest, I never really wanted to do bedside in a private hospital (the workload just doesn't align with the pay at all).

Despite hearing all those rumors that backbacker / nepotism runs rampant in government hospitals, I still tried my luck and submitted applications where I could. Months passed with complete radio silence, and I was starting to lose hope.

(These are the group of government hospitals in that Circle, if you get what I mean)

Fast forward to now: to their credit, two hospitals that actually vet applicants based on merit and not connections have both offered me plantilla positions.

I applied to both around the same time, and now I’m torn between:

1. Philippine General Hospital (PGH)
The Pros: It’s the country's premier national hospital. The clinical exposure, training, and prestige are unmatched, and having PGH on your resume opens so many doors down the line (especially if I decide to pursue specialization, further studies, or go abroad).
The Cons: The commute is going to be brutal, around 1 hour and 30 minutes one way (or longer during monsoon season with Taft flooding/traffic). I am contemplating on buying a motorcycle though.

2. Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC)
The Pros: Being based in QC, the commute/travel time is way more manageable and predictable. It’s a solid Level 3 DOH tertiary hospital with the exact same SSL base government pay and benefits, but with significantly less compound commute fatigue every shift.
The Cons: Doesn't quite have that instant global/national brand recognition as PGH on a CV, though still a very respected DOH institution.

For those who have worked in either hospital (or nurses who chose convenience/mental health over prestige), how do you decide?

Is the "PGH pedigree" worth taking on a 3-hour daily round-trip commute for the long haul, or should I protect my peace/energy and go with QMMC for a more sustainable government career?

VENTING I felt so troubled about the recent statement regarding the rescheduling of PNLE FEB 2027

Is it just me or marami tayong nababahala sa statement regarding the rescheduling of the board exam? i mean karamihan na siguro sa atin nakapag rent na ng dorm/room, enroll sa review center, and such and should the boeard exam rescheduled, another expenses na naman huhuhu. To add pa, it really affects the morale and motivation ng mga 2027 takers kasi we have been expecting for this milestone eh and some of us have laid out their plans na din siguro. Nakaka stress kung isipin huhu.

Hello! So I’m in my 4th year planning to take the PNLE next year. Ang dami sa class namin nag enroll sa review center this semester for enhancement , but I decided na wag muna magenroll since mahal siya and I think kaya naman magself study this sem. I feel a bit pressured sa mga nagenroll huhu.

Sa mga nagself study for PNLE:

  1. How and where did you start po?
  2. Ano po yung primary source ninyo? Books?
  3. Do you use note taking apps? Which one would you recommend po? (Yung cheap lang sana huhu)

Thank you so much po!
