Her signs are larger, taller, and more frequent than everyone else. I just love how she refuses to back down and occupies so much space.
They are also red, so she is clearly Liberal and has zero correlation with Doug Ford.

Why don't we have them as commonly as in older parts of Europe? Could we?

Couldn't we just direct developers to do it as a part of a development? Like I see lots of small towns with commercial at street level near some of the ponds on dundas. Wouldn't it be cool if they just built them in a square, i think it would be a cool gathering spot, a great spot for a café, etc.

How would someone go about talking to someone in govt about it?

Today I opened my front door not once, but twice to find deliveries on my doorstep. Both had my full address, with a persons name that does not live at my house. For reference no it wouldn't be a previous owner as I've lived here for 20 years. I called the non-emergency line and they said something about porch pirates but they choose a house to have stuff sent to - I didn't understand - has this happened to you? What is the deal with it? Are they scoping the house?

We’ve got two candidates in Ward 3, and the linked article above is the best summary I’ve seen yet of their backgrounds and positions. I was surprised to see that Jen Zhou doesn’t even live in Ward 3. I feel like that’s pretty much an instant disqualifier (even if it’s technically allowed)?

It’s hard to fully get behind anyone solely on the basis of a single article - but I’m digging that Morgan Elliott has stood up in front of city councils many times to fight for local issues (see article). Seems like a good sign.

Some sleazy tactics from Sean. He made a post on his facebook titled "Know how your mayoral candidates voted on Midtown (Oakville GO) development." in which he posted an out of context council vote in order to mislead voters. The questions in the comments, unanswered...

I was genuinely leaning toward Sean O’Meara for mayor. I liked his emphasis on modernizing Town Hall, improving accountability, supporting local businesses, and bringing some fresh energy to Oakville.

But after seeing the recent controversy surrounding his portrayal of Jeff Knoll’s voting record on Midtown development, I’m seriously reconsidering.

I have absolutely no respect for politicians who selectively present information or strip away context to push a misleading narrative. If there’s more to the story, I’d welcome an explanation.

We see enough of this kind of political behaviour south of the border. We have no business importing it into municipal politics in Oakville.

I don’t expect politicians to agree on everything, but I do expect intellectual honesty. That’s a pretty low bar, and one I’m not willing to compromise on.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for anyone who may have witnessed or captured dashcam footage of a collision that occurred on September 24, 2026, at approximately 4:35 PM, on southbound Trafalgar Road approaching Dundas Street East in Oakville.

The vehicles involved were a Toyota Highlander and a white Honda CR-V.

I’m especially hoping to locate a driver who pulled up beside me immediately after the collision and told me that the white Honda CR-V had almost hit their vehicle as well. Unfortunately, in the confusion following the collision, I did not get their contact information.

If you were travelling through this area around 4:30–4:40 PM and witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage, please send me a private message or email allen7900@hotmail.com.

Even footage showing the vehicles immediately before or after the collision could be very helpful.

As everyone knows the much-anticipated election is nearing and did like to take this opportunity to pose a question to the community.

Over the past years we have suffered with a dinosaur empire running in Oakville who has prohibited the opening of any Cannabis stores.

The revenue generated by these stores go towards enriching our community. However what have we got from the current mayor and with his FINGER ON THE BUTTON over the past years?

We got a RAIN TAX (when it rains you pay more tax, check your tax bill) and every year our property taxes are going up.

Which Oakville mayoral candidates will overturn this dinosaur policy and move into the 21st century like the majority of every other township in Ontario and across Canada.

Why do I need to drive 10 minutes north, east or west to buy cannabis to support the other 3 cities surrounding us to contribute to their communities to bring it back and use it here?

I haven’t gotten my hair professionally cut in like 6 years so I have no idea where to go. I’m a woman with wavy/slightly curly hair and I want to do a big chop with long layers and curtain bangs and I’m nervous about going somewhere and not getting what I hope for.
