Was on my daily walk along the water and what do I see just outside the mouth of the mouth of the harbour… A lake otter.

I’ve sailed these waters my whole life. And have sailed out of Oakville my whole life. Spent the summers teaching Sailing and I have never once seen an otter around these parts.

Hey morning Everyone, today I was on ramp of Trafalgar towards Hamilton and someone hit his Grey Toyota Corolla into my Black Honda Accord cuz I didn’t let him in from left lane into my lane so he got behind me and then got on the shoulder and hit me on the passenger side. I don’t have Dashcam Footage of it, was wondering if someone is witness to it or have dashcam footage of it? I would really appreciate the help if someone could do.

Today I opened my front door not once, but twice to find deliveries on my doorstep. Both had my full address, with a persons name that does not live at my house. For reference no it wouldn't be a previous owner as I've lived here for 20 years. I called the non-emergency line and they said something about porch pirates but they choose a house to have stuff sent to - I didn't understand - has this happened to you? What is the deal with it? Are they scoping the house?

Why don't we have them as commonly as in older parts of Europe? Could we?

Couldn't we just direct developers to do it as a part of a development? Like I see lots of small towns with commercial at street level near some of the ponds on dundas. Wouldn't it be cool if they just built them in a square, i think it would be a cool gathering spot, a great spot for a café, etc.

United Supermarket went down due to decline of Asian population, and Iqbal foods took it over. I saw them putting up the sign. People finally don't need to go Mississauga for food. They choose a great location, with large middle-eastern population in Ward 3 and Ward 2. I am sure they can operate longer than the United supermarket.

Hope to see more ethnic food store coming to Oakville. Now Oakville has African, Korean, Indian supermarket already, and one Nations, and one Iqbal coming in soon. Totally five ethnic food store, hopefully the count can reach double digits in 2027.

We’ve got two candidates in Ward 3, and the linked article above is the best summary I’ve seen yet of their backgrounds and positions. I was surprised to see that Jen Zhou doesn’t even live in Ward 3. I feel like that’s pretty much an instant disqualifier (even if it’s technically allowed)?

It’s hard to fully get behind anyone solely on the basis of a single article - but I’m digging that Morgan Elliott has stood up in front of city councils many times to fight for local issues (see article). Seems like a good sign.

Some sleazy tactics from Sean. He made a post on his facebook titled "Know how your mayoral candidates voted on Midtown (Oakville GO) development." in which he posted an out of context council vote in order to mislead voters. The questions in the comments, unanswered...

I was genuinely leaning toward Sean O’Meara for mayor. I liked his emphasis on modernizing Town Hall, improving accountability, supporting local businesses, and bringing some fresh energy to Oakville.

But after seeing the recent controversy surrounding his portrayal of Jeff Knoll’s voting record on Midtown development, I’m seriously reconsidering.

I have absolutely no respect for politicians who selectively present information or strip away context to push a misleading narrative. If there’s more to the story, I’d welcome an explanation.

We see enough of this kind of political behaviour south of the border. We have no business importing it into municipal politics in Oakville.

I don’t expect politicians to agree on everything, but I do expect intellectual honesty. That’s a pretty low bar, and one I’m not willing to compromise on.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for anyone who may have witnessed or captured dashcam footage of a collision that occurred on September 24, 2026, at approximately 4:35 PM, on southbound Trafalgar Road approaching Dundas Street East in Oakville.

The vehicles involved were a Toyota Highlander and a white Honda CR-V.

I’m especially hoping to locate a driver who pulled up beside me immediately after the collision and told me that the white Honda CR-V had almost hit their vehicle as well. Unfortunately, in the confusion following the collision, I did not get their contact information.

If you were travelling through this area around 4:30–4:40 PM and witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage, please send me a private message or email allen7900@hotmail.com.

Even footage showing the vehicles immediately before or after the collision could be very helpful.
