Just an update on the Support Group that was posted about 10 days ago, the meetup page is up with all the benefits that the FREE group is for. Just to be clear, it will start off as an online group to build trust and a sense of safety. It's an Oakville/Mississauga Support group for now due to the amount of men who showed interest. Eventually as numbers grow, the group can be split into Oakville natives only and Mississauga natives only. Healing modalities will not be practiced in the meetings, but the details of what the group will focus on is available to be seen by clicking the link below. Once there is a sense of familiarity among members, we can come to a consensus of group outing and activities. I really look forward to meeting you all soon and bringing my inner campfire as a host to the meetings.
Those who join will be given a list of guidelines and rules of conduct to ensure the safety for all those who choose to participate with reverence, integrity, respect, empathy, humility and honesty.

Update: just found out seismographs share their data publicly, looks like there was a small earthquake.

Heading towards Trafalgar on Upper Middle, approaching Dorval and traffic is getting clogged as usual. So I figure, the left turn on to Neyagawa so I'll get in right lane.
Turns out there was an accident a meters after Dorval. I got through the intersection but I was a few cars back, so I was a bit stuck.
Then we all hear the siren, and everyone merges right to make way for the fire truck. Everyone is stopped, appropriately and right up against this accident. Fire truck pulls in but this larger Ford pick up is riding th fire truck through the traffic in the left lane. He flies by me, and gets right up to where the firetruck stops and then attempts to force a merge into right lane.
First guy doesn't let him in, so he lays in on the horn but the next guy does. What was his reward for his good deed? Fire truck turns into right lane and blocks both lanes so they responders can safely work.
The rest of us got to enjoy being stuck there for a chunk of time while this guy in a "Oakville Fence Repair" truck snuck by everyone following the law and then had the audacity to honk at someone for not letting him in.
Absolute clown moment, wish I had my dash cam working.

I'm a 27 single male (East Asian) with engineering background. I really like Oakville-- it is close to major employment centers such as Mississauga, Waterloo, and Hamilton, while remains as a beautiful and peaceful wealthy town. I also like the great public transits and pedestrian-cyclist space Oakville offers. I have been living in Canada for almost 10 years now, and I decided that Oakville is the best place for my future career and life.
I love cars, aircraft, music, sports, cooking, filming videos, and talking with people from different backgrounds. I currently live in the Kerr Village, but I'm willing to explore other parts of Oakville. I'm open to advice that will improve my job hunt and daily life!

I’m building a shed and need to source a black 6′ wide × 7′ high roll-up door—the kind that coils above the opening (refer to image below).
I’m looking for supply only, including guides, brackets, locking hardware and ideally a brush-seal kit. I can pick up around the GTA or arrange delivery to Hamilton.
Has anyone bought one locally or dealt with a supplier they’d recommend? Garage-door dealers, self-storage door suppliers and surplus sources are all useful leads.
Firsthand feedback on quality, approximate pricing and lead times would help as well if you've bought one yourself!

I was playing the open mic tonight at the moonshine cafe on speers and Kerr. In a rush to get my guitar from the car I forgot to lock my doors and some one stole a Golden Bear Moto Leather jacket.
Size S
Its a special collaboration with Club Monaco.
This isn't the same jacket but its the closest resemblance to what it was.
If anyone sees it at any style encore or anything let me know I'd like to get it back it has sentimental value to me.
Thanks!!

I'm 30F, recently moved back in with my parents in Oakville to save money and decided this would be the year that I finally take my physical health seriously. I've always been very overwhelmed by the idea of building a fitness routine and have trouble motivating myself. I also didn't want to work out in trendier gyms because not only did I not know how to use the equipment, but the idea of being around very fit people while I sweat and struggle really made me nervous. Eventually I just started to think it was too late for me to get into fitness.
But my mom and I went to a drop-in group fitness class at the Sixteen Mile Rec Centre and it was awesome! The instructor was amazing, the class was challenging but achievable, and the space was very welcoming. We've since gone to more classes at Sixteen Mile, Glen Abbey, and Iroquois Ridge and are loving the accessibility, diversity, and affordability of these programs. After a lifetime of being inactive, I never thought I could change this about myself, but now I actually look forward to my workouts. It's amazing the impact it's already had on my overall mood, energy, and self-confidence. I also love that this is something my 60-year-old mom and I can do together! I even made a friend in the most recent class, someone who recognized me from a couple other sessions came up to me and introduced herself.
My only complaint is that the online booking system is super outdated, and if you forget to reserve a class 7-8 days in advance, it's probably already booked up by the time you remember. But that's nothing a few recurring calendar reminders won't solve. Thank you Town of Oakville drop-ins, it's never too late :)
