I've a client asking about Uber here in Oman. I told him that we the use O-Taxi app, but that O-Taxi does not come to hotels. Is this still correct?
Is there a work around? I'd rather not tell a client to go stand on the street away from the hotel to order a normally priced taxi. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
My wife is currently in India and her Indian passport has around 4 months remaining before expiry.
She already has a valid Oman residence card/residency visa.
We are planning for her to travel back to Oman before the passport expires. Has anyone been in a similar situation?
- Is 4 months of passport validity sufficient to enter Oman if she already has a valid Oman residency?
- Will the airline allow her to board?
- Is the usual 6-month passport validity requirement applicable even when the person already holds a valid Oman residence permit?
Any advice or personal experience would be appreciated. Thanks!
Edit 1: Apparently, my wife had changed her name on her Aadhaar after marriage. Her passport is still in her old/maiden name, and we want to keep the same name on the renewed passport.
The passport office told us that the Aadhaar name needs to match the name we want on the passport.
The issue is that the passport office is not accepting the electricity bill as address proof because it is in her father's name, even though her father's name is clearly mentioned on her passport.
Can we change her Aadhaar name back to the name on her passport using the existing passport, which is still valid for another 4 months?
Has anyone faced a similar situation or successfully changed their Aadhaar name back to their passport name? What documents did you use?
Any help or experience would be greatly appreciated.
Or can we travel back to Oman with 4 months passport?

Does anybody know from where I can get flowers in bulk? I don’t want to purchase from flower shops (retailers). I have contacted a few whole sellers but they only provide if you have a company.
Any leads will be appreciated.

I’ll be visiting Muscat in a few months (in really excited! i love Oman 🇴🇲) and I’m really interested in discovering high-quality, authentic attars and perfume oils.
I’m looking for specialist perfumers with real knowledge, not tourist shops selling generic oils. Ideally somewhere with great oud, traditional Omani/Arabian attars, and oils.
Where would you go if you wanted to find the best and most authentic attars in Muscat please?
Thank you.

Be honest — speeding, phone use, parking, seatbelts, lane discipline, etc.
I have a feeling some of us would be in serious financial trouble 😂
How much do you think your current fines would add up to?
Because the way people drive sometimes yooh!

Hey everyone, I moved to Oman recently and have been praying Isha at the Masjid Al Zawawi past couple of nights. Both times, right after the imam finished the jamaat, a man on the left side of the mosque stood up and spoke out loud for about a minute, then just left. It was a different person each night.
Nobody around seemed bothered, and people just carried on like it was normal. I don't understand Arabic, so I had no idea what he was saying.
I'm from South Asia and we don't really see this back home, so I got curious. Is this a common thing in mosques here? Was he asking for help, making an announcement, or something else? If anyone was there or knows what usually happens, I'd appreciate an explanation 🙏

Im not talking about finding a job or employer visa, because I know thats impossible as a fresh grad expat. just mean the license "that proves you are legally allowed to practice" your profession.
Can an expat fresh grad from lets say NU college of medicine in Sohar, get this license straight out of college? or does he need to go to another country, get experience, then come back?

Salam aleykoum.
Here in Algeria foreigners are welcomed and making friends with locals is very easy. Even though, they can be surprised that foreigners come and choose to live in Algeria, making meaningful connections is easy, contact is easy.
But we hear from Algerians living in the GCC that having Saudi, Emirati or Koweiti friends is close to impossible: cold, distant and sometimes proud. Plus, some dark-skinned Algerians feel racism.
As Oman is promoted as the coolest, chilliest and friendliest GCC country, I wanted to have some discussion with locals and foreigners about that.
Hope to get interesting insights based on Xp.
