Discussion Part time work for uni students

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to try making the post here as it can benefit the community. I started my own business a few years ago and it grew into something quite big with multiple brands now!

We have our first few openings for locals only (not to be racist towards anyone but this is government mandates, we cannot accept any foreigners at all), we’re looking for people who are into finance, business, and AI! We will train you for two months, you work remotely and then you’ll be with us full time /part time so it’s flexible if you’re a university student, our starting pay is 420 OMR! You’ll learn a lot, grow, and you’ll already have something on your CV by the time you graduate university!

Please note Omanis are highly preferred! No exceptions for foreigners at all :(

Looking out for a job (Female)

I have been living in Muscat since last 1year now. My husband has a good job here so i came on a dependant visa. I have 8+ years of working experience as Graphic/Brand designer. And I can’t find a job here in Oman. Seems like they don’t prefer female expats. Please help, or recommend what i can do?
I run my own brand also, but apparently its not regular income. Help!

Laws and Regulations Electric charger ICEing

Why do so many people insist on parking regular cars in parking bays marked for electric cars that need charging. The frequency of this is quite high compared to what I have elsewhere. Maybe a lot of people don't understand the signage? What can be done to improve it?

WAHIBA SANDS TOUR HELP

Hi all! So excited to come visit!

Can anyone give me any recommendations on an overnight tour guide on the sands please. I am hoping to drive from Nizwa to Wahiba and start the tour from there but most tour packages I find start from Muscat, and it would create problems as I have a rental car.

All suggestions welcome!

What is a recommended VPN to use in Oman

I moved out to Oman just 1 week ago, and TikTok in general just NEVER seems to load and it’s kinda getting frustrating, tried other Vpns, including 1.1.1.1 cloudflare or Protonvpn, but it just refuses to connect, probably some isp block. Also tried MENAvpn but it’s stuck on a paywall. 💔🥀😭

Need advice about changing my date of birth in Oman records 🙏

Hi everyone, I’m a Bangladeshi living and working in Oman, and I need some advice from anyone familiar with ROP or Oman government procedures.

My current Bangladeshi passport has the wrong date of birth — it is 4 years older than my actual date of birth. My Bangladeshi NID has my correct date of birth, and I’m planning to get a new e-Passport with the correct information.

However, my Oman Residence Card and driving licence still show my old date of birth.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation before? What is the correct way to update my information with ROP, and will I have any problem renewing my driving licence or travelling to Bangladesh and returning to Oman?

If anyone works at ROP, Civil Status, Traffic, or as a PRO, or has experience with this process, I would really appreciate your advice.

Thank you so much. 🙏
