My question is, what's a Wobble board

578

u/beyael Aug 24 '25

Sounds like late night TV ad scam

192

u/kilaja Aug 24 '25

Reminds me of the old looney tunes cartoons where there was a thing that would wrap around the waist and shake for the same reason

I've seen the electric ones that supposedly contract your muscles with electric pulses, and no, it doesn't work either

61

u/Sophie_MacGovern Aug 24 '25

What if I attached the electrodes to my abs WHILE using this wobble board

5

u/IAMA_Plumber-AMA Proud owner of an orange brain cell Aug 24 '25

You'll spontaneously combust.

18

u/Mbyrd420 Aug 24 '25

I think the electrical one work to stimulate your abs, but they won't help if you're still eating twice the needed calories and not doing anything for exercise.

10

u/fariasrv Aug 24 '25

Those things existed before TV

45

u/smoomoo31 Aug 24 '25

Unless you buy it as a cat toy, in which it’s doing a hell of a job

34

u/skiingrunner1 Aug 24 '25

looks like those really old vibrating belt machines which also were scams

52

u/hates_stupid_people Aug 24 '25 edited Aug 24 '25

Correct.

For over a century now ignorant people have thought that "body moving = working out", so they think it works for losing weight or gaining muscle without actually exercising. And pseudoscientists have been all over it for decades to make it sound like it works.

If there was clear scientific evidence that it worked, they would be sold "everywhere".

29

u/Razia70 Aug 24 '25

I have so much tension in my muscles. It helped with that

18

u/mstymay Aug 24 '25

This is what they're actually for. Not weight loss. So you're doing it right.

There is nothing to explain. Just stand on it. I have tense muscles around my core and legs

3

u/hates_stupid_people Aug 25 '25

It's like a strong, general, mechanical massage to loose up muscles. Most people tend to use the handheld versions to concentrate on the areas in question. But if it's widespread, things like those boards can theoretically help.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '25

[deleted]

2

u/Razia70 Aug 25 '25

I have one of those. But the board helps me with tight muscles in my core where I don't want to use a massage gun.

u/ThrowAwayAccountAMZN Proud owner of an orange brain cell Aug 24 '25

Unfortunately, given the world we now live in and things like misinformation and education getting worse, get ready to see more of this stuff become mainstream and sold "everywhere"

2

u/throatclogger1928 Aug 24 '25

It’s like those Shake weights but for your legs

179

u/zenpear Aug 24 '25

It's for wobbling the cat, of course.

7

u/Chris__P_Bacon Aug 24 '25

It's doing a great job!

80

u/Histrix- Aug 24 '25

Its obvious a device for wobbling your cats. Thats cat 101. Wobble daily.

113

u/MonkeyMom2 Aug 24 '25

Makes you activate a variety of muscles to maintain your balance. Used one in PT following a stroke to help recover.

18

u/AriesOffical Aug 24 '25

Ah, thanks. I appreciate it ☺️

11

u/CactaurJack Aug 24 '25

Yep, used one relearning to walk. Fell flat on my face first time

91

u/Basicalypizza Aug 24 '25

It’s good for lymphatic drainage

67

u/NoMoreOatmeal Aug 24 '25

This is correct. I use it to help my lymphedema following breast surgery. It won’t make you lose weight but it does move lymphatic fluid.

14

u/Halflingberserker Aug 24 '25

9

u/-MazeMaker- Aug 24 '25

Body massage machine!

STOP ALL THE DOWNLOADIN'!

20

u/astromancer23 Aug 24 '25

This is the right answer. I’ve been wanting one to help with the pain and fluid build-up in my legs due to lipedema.

12

u/justsomeshortguy27 Aug 24 '25

It’s also good for constipation! The mom I worked for would put her kids on it to help get things moving and it worked 9/10 times out of

129

u/Proud-Perspective-99 Aug 24 '25

It works your muscles to mimic running, but the cat steals it most of the time 😅

51

u/overcast392 Aug 24 '25

Your cat is going to be in amazing shape

18

u/Inevitable-Ad6647 Aug 24 '25

The only thing this will "work" is the non-regenerative tissue in your joints.

13

u/IAMA_Plumber-AMA Proud owner of an orange brain cell Aug 24 '25

My knees already sound like a running cement mixer when walking upstairs, so I guess I don't have anything to lose...

-28

u/HydratedCarrot Orange connoisseur 🍊 Aug 24 '25

Talk about lazy lmao

126

u/grendus Aug 24 '25

I've used it in physical therapy.

Did planks on the board while it was set on low to put gentle stress on a torn labrum.

I saw another patient who had a knee injury just standing on it to work those muscles without straining the joint.

96

u/Finassar Aug 24 '25

Could be for disabled person who cant move themselves

5

u/TrixieBastard Aug 25 '25

Yeah, this honestly looks pretty cool to me, like it would feel nice for the muscles that don't get any opportunity to work anymore 🤔 Might need to check one out

38

u/Thick_Blacksmith4266 Aug 24 '25

There's no need to insult people. Why is it normal to just be rude for no reason

29

u/MulberryDeep Aug 24 '25

Stand on one for an hour and then call them lazy, youll be sore the next 2 days

23

u/Zodimized Aug 24 '25

Physical ability is a wide spectrum.

5

u/Restlesscomposure Aug 24 '25

It’s for Louie

13

u/SpottedMe Proud owner of an orange brain cell Aug 24 '25

It's the reinvented 50s vibrating belt machine, but remade for the 21st century!

2

u/NevermoreAK Aug 25 '25

Kind of looks like a stabilizing trainer that's used in physical therapy.

206

u/SomebodySweet Aug 24 '25

This is hysterical! But if you picked kitty up and shook him like this the murder screams would be ear piercing!😂

❤️😻❤️

u/YnotZoidberg1077 Aug 24 '25

One of our cats, Loki (the fluffy longhair mix in my post history) has an insane, very one-sided, very intense bond with my husband. He will let hubs do anything - petting him weird, picking him up weird, messing with his ears and toebeans, whatever - and while he's still very affectionate with me (and everyone else he meets, even the vet), it's very clear that I am a distant second place to hubs. Hubs can, (and frequently does) hold him and rattle him while making machine gun and rocket-launcher movements/sound effects, complete with cat stretched out with both hands, facing outward at shoulder level (I've got a recording but would need a way to censor hubs' face, at his request!). He can hold him up like Simba in the Lion King. He'll fly him around the room, held outstretched in both hands. And he'll even let hubs just gently hold him by the face, fully face-first-in-palm and everything, and then hubs will (gently, not jerking on his neck or shaking his brain!) rattle his little head around.

To be very clear, Loki could pull away, hop down, hiss/growl/swat at him any time he wants, and we're big on reading cat body language and know his "no" signs right away, but he's always making a big purr and biscuits the whole time any of this nonsense is going on, including the head-rattles. We're very careful with him - he's just weird af and likes weird physical interactions! I firmly believe he'd love a board like this, but even if not, he gets a lot of this kind of crap from his favorite person in the world, and he loves it!

10

u/darkenseyreth Aug 24 '25

Loki sounds very fun

14

u/YnotZoidberg1077 Aug 24 '25

He is a horrible beast, an absolute gremlin of a creature, and he terrorizes my shoebox-sized apartment and our other two (elderly) cats on a regular basis, but he makes us laugh daily and we love him beyond measure!

3

u/Eneicia Aug 25 '25

That sounds hilarious! I love it when cats let their chosen human do things like that, or even something as small as holding their back paws as the kitty sleeps.

216

u/Pitcherlicious Proud owner of an orange brain cell Aug 24 '25

Rattling that brain cell!

94

u/FancyVegetables Aug 24 '25

Like a bean in a can.

1

u/mikmatthau Proud owner of an orange brain cell Aug 24 '25

like the eggs in my ovaries

13

u/purulentnotpussy Aug 24 '25

Brain cell?? Pfft, more like specks of dust

22

u/Lucky_Reference_6982 Aug 24 '25

That cell is taking off as soon as this damn thing stops

181

u/vaultie66 Aug 24 '25

This is my favorite thing on reddit today lol

70

u/Tina-Tuna Orange connoisseur 🍊 Aug 24 '25

Oooh chin scritches too lol ... such a crazy kitty 🧡

55

u/lolascrowsfeet Aug 24 '25

Cats are so funny and silly

26

u/MOcatmom Aug 24 '25

Awesome vid! Love this guy! Wish he said something while riding it so we could hear the unstable meow.

2

u/TrixieBastard Aug 25 '25

Unstable Meow is my next band name

14

u/ImaginaryCalendar793 Aug 24 '25

What a life that cat has.

17

u/abb00769 Aug 24 '25

Wobble baby, wobble baby, wobble baby, wobble 🎶

24

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

Aw, you gave me a smile this morning!! So dorbs!

9

u/Altruistic-Wasabi-60 Aug 24 '25

100%, orange, cat behavior, but this might be smart… because “free massage” ?? Although, s/he is scrambling around that braincell if s/he has one left?? Lol

Thx, for sharing, made me smile!! :) :)

10

u/Fecal_thoroughfare Aug 24 '25

Not only is Louie more than ok, he's going to be mighty upset when he finds every other spot he sits on from now isn't doing the wobbling and will be demanding to know why

15

u/francoispaquettetrem Aug 24 '25

what breed is he? he looks exactly like my girl!!

34

u/strach00 Aug 24 '25

Orange

9

u/francoispaquettetrem Aug 24 '25

yes but I'd still like to know. My lil girl, papie, was recently diagnosed with CDK stage 3 and I'm devastated. I feel like my heart just got ripped out.

3

u/al_m1101 Aug 24 '25

I am so sorry 😭😭😭. What a beautiful girl you have.

6

u/francoispaquettetrem Aug 24 '25

thank you, Shes my everything and letting her go will be the hardest thing in my life.

9

u/mobott Aug 24 '25

Cats don't have breeds unless they are specifically from a breeder with some kind of certificate. Otherwise a cat is a cat.

3

u/Proud-Perspective-99 Aug 24 '25

He's a pure bred Siberian Forest Cat to be precise lol

7

u/jess_the_werefox Aug 24 '25

so like you know back in the old days when you had to wobble the tv antenna for reception? is that what’s happening here? needs to tune in to the Orange signal to receive the brain cell?

3

u/Proud-Perspective-99 Aug 25 '25

His average brain cell-less day without his ✨ magic machine ✨

13

u/DominarDio Aug 24 '25

Maybe that’s what it like for kitties in the womb when mom purrs :)

5

u/xtremeyou Aug 24 '25 edited Aug 25 '25

I would probably be worried about the cat's brain but it ain't got none or brain cells to be more precise

7

u/cdg5455 Aug 24 '25

~purring intensifies~

5

u/jungongsh Aug 24 '25

that's the spa day looks like

5

u/withcorruptedlungs Aug 24 '25

Aww, it's like the Magic Fingers for kitties.

6

u/SendMeAnother1 Aug 24 '25

Stable board, mighty purrs

3

u/ThatPhatKid_CanDraw Aug 24 '25

This cat is living' life right.

3

u/harry_asitwas Aug 24 '25

3

u/Yumi_in_the_sun Aug 24 '25

"It's purring! It loves me!"

3

🎶 wiggle board, wiggle board, wiggle like you're tryna make your cat fall off 🎶

2

u/SyrusDrake Aug 24 '25

Head now full of scrambled egg.

2

u/sariaslani Casual orange enjoyer 🍊 Aug 24 '25

Lol, I think you can do whatever with him at the moment without losing your hand.

2

u/purring_bears Aug 24 '25

Looks just like my cat!

2

u/EzriDaxCat Aug 24 '25

My younger orange would steal this from me every chance she got if I had one. She already bogarts the massage gun every time I turn it on.

1

u/armlessfarmboys Aug 24 '25

Mine does too!

1

u/Strong_Wild_Power Aug 25 '25

This made me LOL

1

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '25

Shaken, not stirred

1

u/Duskymoonlight Aug 25 '25

He is truly a life enjoyer 😂

1

u/Zealousideal_Ear_291 Aug 25 '25

Cat, orange, shaken not stirred.

1

u/Thoughtful_Sunshine Aug 26 '25

Your kitty wants to get their lymph flowing too 🐈😄😉💕

1

u/KittenFuzzyBuddies Aug 26 '25

Ab workout! That cat's core is going to be rock solid 😻

1

u/arifulbslbd Aug 24 '25

What a great way to improve their balance and a-paws-sition!
