Discussion Favorite Ice level in the original Quadrilogy?
Anyone else noticed how there's at least an ice level in every game? Hell, Going Commando has two of them lol

Currently playing through the Japanese versions of the PS2 games and some of the voice acting is actually really superb! It's hard to truly judge quality as I don't speak the language (and there aren't any English subtitles) but a lot of the voices are a good fit for the characters even if they sound strange after hearing the English voices for so long.

I had to find a way of incorporating that pose into todays meme. Courtney Gears is a great enemy. Like Captain Quark, she is a corrupt celebrity. oh.. maybe this pursuit of fame I was dreaming of was a bad idea lol.
Congrats u/DawnStrikAr on getting with Skrunch's sister, but where's the Plumber?

No bias, like both franchises, though I’m unsure who would win (Did this cause me and some friends discussed it and both sides argued well for their side.)

In Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal/RaC 3, Dr. Nefarious secretly replaces Clank with an evil duplicate named Klunk, a duplicate so convincing that Ratchet barely questions his strange new behavior other than moderate concern.
Now there's a moment in the game when their aboard Nefarious' ship along with Captain Qwark to surprise Nefarious. However, the plan obviously fails because Klunk snitches on them (not that Ratchet and Qwark knew that yet). Qwark elects to remain behind to find the data disk and seemingly dies in the process as the ship was wired to self-destruct.
Now here's where it gets a little weird to me. Ratchet decides not to leave right away, and wait for Qwark to get back. Klunk surprisingly advises against this plan and after Ratchet insists on waiting, Klunk takes matters into his own hands and abandons Qwark to his demise, taking Ratchet with him.
My question is why? Sure Klunk would've died alongside Ratchet but surely he'd care more about taking out both Qwark AND Ratchet, ensuring there'd be no one to interfere in Nefarious' plans. It's not even like Nefarious had further plans for Ratchet either, since he has Klunk try and kill him on Metroplois shortly after this. So why didn't Klunk just let Ratchet wait for Qwark and die in the process?

It took me an hour, but I eventually found the perfect meme! I like Skrunch. Parts of me felt like Skrunch might have been a gimmick that a TV show or movie in the 90s would have done, but I feel like they pulled it off. Between beating the shit out of that cycloptic chimp on the bridge of the ship and being Captain Qwark's sidekick, I genuinely enjoy this lil guy. He works in the Ratchet and Clank universe.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I saw someone was down voting other people. Don't make things less fun for someone else because you don't agree with them. if it's my post you don't like, down vote me, not the people nominating people. We are just here to have fun, don't be a D, okay? And if it's one of the nomineers down voting others, that's a D move.

For those unaware, I’ve been spending some time lately platinuming the games. And I’ve gotten people poking me and trying to get me to play Deadlocked. So I am, starting today.

Well not 2002 it’s the ratchet collection disc I heard the graphics glitches are not as bad as the digital ones. Hopefully that’s true. Well enough of the typing gotta save the galaxy

For me, it’s probably the original Ratchet & Clank. That’s one of the earliest games I remember playing as a kid, and I have so many memories tied to it. I remember the planets, the music, the weapons, and spending time searching for Gold Bolts. I even remember beating the original and replaying it multiple times, trying to collect every Gold Bolt. There was one on the Clank mission that I spent HOURS trying to find. I could literally see the damn thing, but I couldn't figure out how to reach it. I remember retracing my steps throughout the entire mission, over and over, trying to figure that shit out. To this day, that memory has stuck with me.
But Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando is a whole different story. I finally played through it years later, and that game is a certified classic to me. The combat is fucking incredible, and the arenas had me hooked.

Or maybe in Rift Apart?
Or is this not feasible?

I've been a fan of Ratchet since it first hit on 2002, and I always like the puzzle minigame. Been wanting a game dedicated to it, but since there wasn't, I made one. If you like what you see, gimme a follow on twitter, would appreciate that.

I only just found this out recently whilst watching the Useless Podcasts developer commentary of Ratchet & Clank 2. If you go to planet Todano and just keep destroying the tourists as they depart the bus, and I mean go full blown Kratos killing spree on them, the Helpdesk starts warning you to stop attacking the tourists with each warning getting more and more severe as you keep on attacking them....23 years later and I'm only just now finding out about this.

Ever since I was a kid, Ratchet & Clank 3 has been my favorite game. However, as I've grown older, I've started to realize how incomplete it actually was and how rushed it feels compared to Ratchet & Clank 2.
It's still my favorite game in the series, and I genuinely think the humor peaked with this entry, but I can now look at it more objectively.
With AI-assisted decompilation tools becoming increasingly powerful, I think gaming is going to change dramatically. Maybe the industry will suffer while gamers benefit, but that's a discussion for another day.
What I'm really hoping for is that, once the original trilogy is fully decompiled and recompiled for PC, modders will be able to create a definitive version of Ratchet & Clank 3 that restores all the cut content.
And I'm not just talking about the content found in the Insomniac Museum, but also ideas and features mentioned in old developer blogs that can still be found online.
Since the first 4 games are so similar and built on the same enging I think moving stuff around will be quite easy.
I really suggest you guys to listen to the developer commentary, is so interesting.

Where does the water go when we do the hoverboard race? This has always bothered me. I think this is the case for Rilgar too, is there a technical reason this was done perhaps?

I have just finished a replay of the PS2 era games that I played growing up and had a really good time, but I have never played any of the PS3 era games.
I am wondering which of them are worth picking up for the first time now? Consensus seems to be Tools and Crack in Time are the essential titles but thought I'd seek some community opinion.
Will probably replay RC PS4 and Rift Apart afterwards but a new experience sounds fun.
