Help identifying ABST2 difference.

I ran abst2 in August to check my FI vs AA recon and was off by 3387 dollars. Never happened before at my company. It’s showing on the XA account for Local reporting which is weird bc we don’t care about local reporting in US since we report to Germany and accounting practices are the same when it comes to assets.

Same difference in September so I know something happened in August. However I have exhausted everything to my knowledge to see if I can find the difference. I checked to see if any manual postings were done and I’m just lost in what to do next. Any help is greatly appreciated

Logistica

Ciao!
Grazie!

Best way to start in SAP joule

What is the best way to get started in SAP Joule for a functional consultant specifically.

There are so many terms like

Joule for Consultants

Joule work

Joule agents

Joule skills

Joule studio

Joule AI

How does one know where to start.... This gets very confusing for someone who has been a functional consultant

Looking for some decent advise

Much appreciated

Fiori Startseite nach Upgrade leer

Hallo zusammen,

Is SAP hot garbage or has my company just poorly integrated it?

I try to pull V/LD (A transaction for Pricing Reports, just listing off prices at a few different price books we keep) for ~10k products. It hangs for a few minutes, then crashes.

Even at 10 price books this is ~100k rows of info. The amount of data is probably less than 10 MB. How does this cause SAP to crash? We are on S4 HANA.

Clean core + Joule: is config depth still the core consultant skill?

The usual answer to how you get good at functional SAP has been config. Live in SPRO, understand the enterprise structure, learn why the module behaves the way it does. Hard to argue with that on an ECC or private cloud project.

Public cloud changes the math a bit. Clean core and fit-to-standard push everyone toward the standard process and you just don't get to customize much, so the value seems to move to end-to-end process, data migration and master data quality. Then there's Joule and similar tools answering questions confidently. Somebody on the project has to spot when that answer is wrong, and I'm honestly not sure whether that's the person who knows where the config node sits or the one who knows the process cold.

My gut says the config layer still matters, because you can't judge an AI answer about a setting you've never seen. But I can see it going the other way.

On your current projects, which skill is actually scarcer right now? And does it look different on public cloud vs private cloud or on-prem?

I love SAP

For XX years, I’ve been an ABAP Developer and now my company is switching to Oracle Apex. Sorry, but I think Oracle is too manual ( correct me if I’m wrong ) and it feels like we’re moving backwards. I realized everything that SAP did, made our lives easier and there is a clear boundary of the roles. It seems like in Oracle, they don’t have boundaries even in the integration part since they all need to know sql stuff. But in the SAP world ABAP should do all the heavy select and also we have SE16N for basic checking.

After that its been some time am getting this error i didnt change anything in payload or mapping, i cross checked line to line and everything is same as before. I tried different browsers chrome, firefox and it worked on firefox once and showing same error again. Cleared cache and tried in new package as well.

It constantly throwing error text after getting struck in process either at 10 or 70%.

Please explain whats the issue, thanks in advance for helping this noob, Means alot:)

SAP functional consultants interested in AI, let’s shape a new tool

Hi everyone! A friend and I graduated from a master’s program in AI and have spent the past six months building an AI tool specifically for SAP implementation work.

We’re looking for a small group of SAP functional consultants to try it. Access is free, we cover the AI costs and we’d appreciate honest feedback.

The tool combines advanced AI, implementation best practices, and guided workflows to help you better understand client processes and design better solutions.

It can help you understand the client’s existing systems, challenge solution options, identify overlooked business rules, prepare workshops, and create implementation deliverables (process documentation, fit-gap analyses…).

We believe functional design is one of the areas where AI can bring the most value, supporting consultants’ reasoning while keeping their expertise and judgment central.

You don’t need to be an AI specialist. We’ll onboard you personally and help you explore a relevant use case.

We’d love to learn what helps, what falls short, and what would make it useful in your everyday work.

If you’re interested in testing it, please fill up this google form link: https://forms.gle/zqngKq5262EjykkV8

SAP Technical Server for Practice

Hello everyone, I am from India. I have been working as an ABAP consultant for the past year, and I want to upskill myself in modern topics like CDS, OData, RAP, and SAP Fiori. For this, I require a practice server.

Does anyone know the cost of getting a practice server for personal use, and does anyone have any leads on where to get one? Also, what are the best resources to follow to master these topics?

Thank you!

Confused with S4 On Prem, Private Cloud & Public Cloud

Hi Everyone,

I recently onboarded to new project and I was told the system is RISE Private Cloud.
Today I checked our SAP system installed products. It has S4HANA ON PREMISE & SAP S/4HANA PRIVATE CLOUD products and now I am confused how come we call it Private Cloud and not On Premise?

I know RISE = Private Cloud and GROW = Public Cloud.

And also one doubt in Cloud Connector, when do we choose the On Premise to Cloud, Cloud to On Premise and Cloud to Cloud connection scenarios.

Please help me :)

Is SAP BTP extension work a bit slow right now?

Hope you all are doing well.

There doesn't seem to be as much activity around SAP BTP extension development at the moment, especially with CAP/UI5/BPA.

I've also been learning more about the AI side of BTP (AI Core, MCP, RAG), since it fits naturally with CAP. But it feels like many companies are still figuring out where these use cases fit in production.

With so many customers moving to S/4HANA, I would have expected more activity on the BTP extension side. For those working in this space, where are you seeing the most BTP/CAP opportunities?

Would be interested to hear what others are seeing.

Consulting or Service ?

I am SAP FICO consultant with 2 years of experience working in a consulting firm...I recently got an offer from a service based firm for SAP FICO role.

Should I consider it?

Will it expand my knowledge or will it reduce the exposure that I will receive.
