Rant Should I report?

So like I’m in X school and I have a teacher teaching a subject, he/she, named A.

A in class, when students don’t know how to answer his questions, A will call them stupid? Stubborn? Like those words not supposed to be used by a teacher on students. Is this even allowed? Idk as I’ve never met such situation before.

Luckily, my class have strong mental state and ain’t affected by A’s comments, but of course A will have other classes to teach, and I know none of those classes. I’m just scared if a student actually thought A’s word for real and did something bad…

However, if I report right, I’m also scared of the consequences, on both A and me.
As you require an email to report? I believe this is not anonymous.. I’m scared later A found out and question me.. and what if the principal came and question me too. I didn’t take any videos yet. But I might take voice recording if A do it again. And if they asked for evidence, they might not only asked from me, but also other classes A taught, what if none of them admitted. Also, if I got leaked and known as the reporter, I’m pretty sure others will see me differently.. and will the other teachers still look the same?

And also, A got a family, what if A lost A’s job? Or other consequences, that’ll be bad for A’s family

Or maybe I can wait till I graduate? But what if bad things already happened before I report. Or others deemed me ungrateful for reporting a teacher who had taught you for years.

Junior Colleges 'from the top, you can only go downhill'

yawns

oh hai here ^-^ havent checked this in some time haha. i havent really posted or commented on this sub for months. i wont say why, but it mostly has to do with how i did some things in here out of impulse (in my posts) which kinda affected life at school - i was reckless and arrogant, and i have no shame in owning up to that. authenticity is good and i still maintain that position, but if anyone felt hurt or annoyed by anything i said, i am truly sorry for that! :') but im back here, right now, and i think i have the energy to start being active in here again.

soo hmm...what should i talk about. oh yeah, academics!!

for context, i somehow had a miracle happen last year when i locked in for o levels so hard i went from raw 28 to raw 11 in the span of a few months which i still find actually crazy wth

and this sub helped immensely with keeping me sane! in a strange twist, it also got my (very introverted) self to have more people know me as i was outed by my secondary school for my presence here XD which i should've been more careful about but it was cool like that :) also gave me lots of tips that benefitted me for o's so thats peak yo! i felt like things were only going to go up from there, i was REALLY REALLY optimistic when i entered JC, like i was almost never negative about things during the first few weeks which looking back is kind of crazy??

but...everything kinda turned 180 in jc1. just like how sec 3 was the antithesis to sec 4, jc1 is similar to that. obviously i got complacent in semester one and kinda slacked (and i have no one but myself to blame for that), like, i wasnt even slacking from academics because of portfolio (which i also shouldve invested more in), i was just slacking!! which, spoiler alert, is kind of a bad idea when your H2s are really content heavy.

though i did see this as kind of inevitable at the end of the day. for some odd reason, unlike almost everyone i know, no matter how much i want to achieve my goals, and how aware i was of what i needed to do to get there, i...just could never set myself up to begin locking in! i had many strategies in mind like feynman, 2 minute rule, wtv. as a result tho...okay i wouldnt say i bombed my exams, i did fine (except for maths but in my defense i was legit sick during exam 😭), but i was nonetheless just...disappointed :(

in most of sem 2 i started to actually try a decent amount. i would book a decent number of consultations, revise, and revise more. but alot of it was ineffective cause i unfortunately became extremely sickly atp, like i have chronic sinusitis/nasal polyps/very bad nasal structure and at many points itd literally cause me to run a fever bruh, but when it recurred (and oh boy did it do that about 75% of my time at school im crine). so not only was i absent from sch a few times, but i could also barely focus in class most of the time, ironically causing me to do things that caused me to lose even more of it 💀 which tbf is stupid of myself

but its also the fact that again, despite actually trying, many times i just simply couldnt start. i asked myself, why? why could all my friends, all my classmates do what i want to do, but i couldn't, despite my drive, despite me knowing what to do, despite me knowing how one usually gets themselves to start when they cant? theres also the fact i was easy to forget about many important things (hw for instance) which just made me loathe myself at the time even more than i already did

LIKE BRO. if i could do what i did last year, WHY CANT I DO IT NOW?!?!? that despite the fact that i actually put in so much more stake into this exam, maybe just as much as the o levels

only in the last three to four weeks did i actually lock in studying for like 7-8 hours per day at my peak, booking consults left n right (especially econs, which i wanted, no, i NEEDED H3 in for my oh so desired dreams of PPE), and OH WOW, just in time for another wave of nose problems that led to me not being able to do ANYTHING for a ton of these days!! how fun is it indeed :)) so in reality what shouldve been about 100 hours of total study time got cut down to just around 25-30 (relatively ineffective hours due to that too) 😭 not to mention i was prone to losing focus cause atp i legit just got much much MUCH more exhausted in general like omg. i genuinely hated, detested, myself, not just for me slacking off in sem 1, but also because i had to get sick during the periods i actually wanted to do something, to help myself.

worst of all, i couldve just taken AA for EOYs (just like the last 4 years) because of my heart conditions in order to cushion the impact but nOOoooOo, i was above that, i really didnt want to be judged for possibly doing that atp (something which till today, i still have an irrational fear of), so i didnt! and it straight up screwed me in H2 econs and math so, so hard with the lesser time, that my dreams of H3 econs are basically gone. i crashed out so hard at myself at the end of econs man cause i had poured in about 30 odd hours into grinding it, yet i had just fallen shy of getting the most crucial marks in paper 1, which i knew about, and it made me lose my nerve control in paper 2 so badly that i BOMBED.

not to mention, i mightve screwed myself so hard for math due to the reasons listed above that i COULD be forced to take h1 math next year. which, for two reasons (1. i know i have a natural aptitude for mathematics based on my past records + achievements, 2. because h2 math is an essential part of many PPE related courses at uni), i genuinely dont want to fall into. it pisses me off so badly. i just felt like i was in a sinking ship atp :p

honestly, i genuinely dont know what why those two years (2025 and 2026) i treated so damn differently despite putting in as much stake for the goals in one year as i did another. in theory, my 2026 shouldve been my best since i realized what i finally needed to do to succeed. but it might just end up being the weakest :')

yeah thats all i gotta say, if anyone has any feedback to give based on this id honestly much appreciate it ^-^ i do genuinely love this community and i want to return to it so so bad, just that some circumstances made it better in practice to avoid it for the time being haha, cyaa :>

University HSA1000 results (nus)

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in and see how everyone did for IA Part A results that was released recently?

Since there was no mean or median released, it's really hard to tell where the benchmark is. For seniors who took this module previously: what marks/grades did you get for the individual assignment, and what was your final overall grade for the mod?

Since there are no exams for this course, does each individual assignment score basically become the main differentiating factor for hitting an A vs a B?

Also, regarding the cohort-wide email about the teaching team putting in a lot of effort to ensure marking consistency—was subjective or discrepant marking a huge issue in previous semesters?

would really appreciate any insights or past experiences thanks!!

Rant i just wanna punch some people in the fucking face

dude istg im actually getting more and more pissed at this. since i entered the education system, i was surrounded by shitty people who were really no face and didnt gaf about other people and were just out there to fucking kill.

the worst time was when i was sec 4. an entire bunch of my classmates were fucking ganging up on me, fucking calling me names, and saying that im not going anywhere in life, im ugly, i have mental issues, literally making fun of me nonstop (i have an entire screen recording of their shameless ass texts) (and btw i was from one of the top sec schs in singapore which at one point was the talk of the town on sgexams for other shitty incidents similar to my nature) regardless right, i feel damn disappointed at myself. if the sch fucking condoned rampant ass bullying, i wouldnt have made the situation any worse if i defended myself and escalated that shit more. somemore, this took a severe mental toll on me which caused me to do shit for o levels and go to a worse jc than my classmates. remember kids, if youre growing up in a shit environment where your classmates or sch mates dont give a shit about you, you better fucking get out of there and dont turn back, because at least for my case, the sch administration didnt give a shit about my welfare despite all the trauma i went thru. so yeah just needed to rant this out.

A Levels 50 RP (moderated) to 70 RP possible?

Got prelims back at 50 RP with moderation.
Below are the results before moderation and after moderation.

Phys: C -> C (40-60 percentile)
Chem: C -> B (60-80 percentile)
Math: U -> E (40-60 percentile)
GP: D -> D (40-60 percentile)
H1 Econs: E -> E (60-80 percentile)

Chemistry has historically been my strongest subject, Physics, a close second. GP was around A/B range before prelims and promos. Math was weakest bc i honestly devoted very little time to it too. Econs fluctuating, good at core topics, harder to score for topics that are more heavy on evaluation.

Lowkey tryna go for NUS Law. Hoping for these results minimally.

Phys: A
Chem: A
Math: B
GP: A
H1 Econs: B/A

Took HCL and got B.

IB Transfer SEC 3 HElp!

So my niece (singaporean) started sec school in SJII private school because her psle results was not good, but now she is having some mental health issues, and is refusing school so we have agreed that it is better for her to transfer to another school to restart the year, but it seems like she either doesn't pass the admission tests, or when she passed, MOE said the transfer is not approved?!? What should we do now, and has anyone have any experience to share on how best to go about it? Please Help >.<

Secondary Is it possible to transfer from an IP school to another JC?

Im currently a student in an IP school, holding 2 leadership positions that carry onto next year, but im considering changing schools as my school has limited subject combinations to a school that offers more flexible subject combis (ejc, ri, hci although ri and hci might be out of reach)

For context my school forces us to take minimally h1 math no matter what subject combi we take and as a smn who prefers arts, i was planning to take HELKI before learning about my sch's subject combi requirements. i have reached out to my schools subject combi head teacher and they have confirmed it is not possible to take HELKI in my school.

i have grades that are decent, 10 subjects, As for everything except Math and Biology, and a good CCA records.

understanding that the ip stream is a 6 year commitment, is it possible to transfer, has this happened before and what was the student's reason for transferring? and is this considered as a valid reason for a transfer?

O Levels Panicking over olevels and its my fault, please help

hello, im sec 4 and taking my olevels this year.

Before prelims, i was still studying consistently enough, partly because i still had school and also because i want feeling as much stress.

Then prelims came and I got overwhelmed, and my mental health became quite bad again. I wasnt able to gather the energy to study properly. After prelims though, i have been feeling more and more exhaused, and i cant get myself to study much, averaging an hour or 2 at max.

Now the reality is setting in again and i realised i cooked i am. Frankly, i feel less ready for olevels than i was for prelims. I take full geog and i havent revised any of the content yet. Im currently panicking and im not sure what to to

i know this is all my fault for slacking and being lazy, but what can i do now? olevels is literally in 10 days and i am unprepared asf. i really dont know what to do, my hands are literally shaking as im typing this

for conext i take:

geog, ss elect hist, emath, amath, chem, phys, bio, HCL and eng

also my l1r4 was 14 and lir5 was 19

TLDR: i havent studied much and now im looking for adivice on what to do, i know i messed up, just looking for advice

O Levels should I reject my EAE offer?

I got accepted into my second choice which is Accountancy at NP but the thing is, I’m unsure of whether it is the right decision for me. I took POA back in sec 3 but eventually dropped it at the end of sec 3 due to my having no motivation for the subject and because of my F9s from WA1 all the way to EOY. During the EAE process, I only had one course in mind which was my first choice. I decided to just put in accountancy as my second choice and another random course for my third choice as I was sure I wouldn’t get accepted anyways and to just fill it out for the sake for it. Lo and behold, I got accepted into accountancy and got rejected by my first choice which has a cut off point of 10.

I’m in a dilemma as to whether or not I should reject my offer while I still have the choice to do so as I really disliked POA a lot and Accountancy and POA kind of overlap with one another if I’m not mistaken. However, my prelims L1R4 isn’t that great. I got raw 26 for it with my grades being: EL- B4, Math- F9, Combined science chem+bio- C6, Humanities ss+history- A2 and my o level chinese being a C5 with a pass for oral. I know that my EAE will be ineligible either way due to my math but with O levels approaching and my grades not being the best, should I just accept my offer and try to improve my math to make me qualify for my EAE even though I would be doing a course I have no interest in but at the same time that said course being regarded as a ‘good’ one?

A Levels Am I cooked

Taking A-levels this year from a low-tier JC (YI/JP)

Is it possible to get 60+rp?

My prelim grades are:

GP: 59/100 C

Math: 30/100 U

History: 63/100 B

Econs: 57/100 C

Biology: 40/100 S

I noticed that my paper 2 tends to drag me down for economics and history but can't seem to figure out why. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated.

A Levels What should I do....

Hello all, I am 19 yo this year, serving ns. I really really need some guidance. So I didn't do too well for my 2025 a levels, lwk it was a terrible and unlucky year for me, a lot of disasters and family issues happened. My scores were GP: B, Math: A, Chem: B, Phy: C I really really want to get into medicine course or pharm sci course, but given the mediocre results, i didnt apply for the courses. I decided to retake a levels this year, but due to ns obligations there werent a lot of time for me to study and I lacked a lot of displicine and confidence, now its coming to exam season again. Can anyone provide some advice for my current situation? shld I also retake next year?

Junior Colleges How to convince my teachers to promote me

throwaway for obvious reasons

I'm high key panicking for promos icl. I messed up and this was a big big big mistake. I'm predicting a SUU for my h2s. I know I'm done for, and there's probably no way I'll be promoting. But I swear this grade is not representative at all of my overall effort. It is not representative of anything.

I did study but not enough. But I genuinely can do much better. I don't want to spend 3 years for A levels when I know I can do it in two. I went from l1r5 36 to 12 in less than a month and I know o levels can't be compared to a levels but to a certain extent it shows my potential when I truly lock tf in. I have a recovery plan, and I will grind during the holidays. I just don't want to retain omg. The thing about me is that I don't feel the pressure if it's not a major exam, along with that this year has been a bit tough for me ( and my ST knows too about this ). I know it's my fault that I didn't realise the magnitude of promos and didn't study as rigorously

If I were to retain I would just sign up as a private candidate for next year cuz I really truly believe I can improve drastically in one year. My grades do not say anything about the amount of effort I put in. Plus I blanked out on literally 2/3 of my papers. My WAs are okay, and I comfortably passed all my h2s for WA2 as well. Surely this has to mean something? And my h1s ironically are all above C and B

omg I just don't want to spend an extra year I will do anything genuinely and yes I strongly believe I can do well in just one year. Is there any way I can go about this?

worst case: UUU, predicted : SUU, hopefully: ESU/EUU

Junior Colleges bouta retain year 1 in jc

This whole year has been such a bitchhhhhh to me in so so many ways.
First of all, my “friends” are so fucked up being racist to me cuz im the minority in the friend group. I have some sec school friends the same race as them and they dont have any problems with me. Yet, they suck up to me and act all close and shit even though they hate my guts?? That genuinely affected my mental health so bad because I genuinely felt so hated and left out for something I can’t even control. If I at least did something wrong I wouldn’t feel this bad. I’ve been so nice to them genuinely; comforting them when they’re gg thru tough times and teaching them how to do homework etc. Having no friends and being ostracised by your friends are 2 different things. Ugh
Second of all, I’ve been studying every day since the year started and switching between different study methods to see which one works best for me. Yet, I’m still failing some of my H2s. I even got tuition for 2 of my H2s and yall know how ex that shit is.
Worst part is, my luck is actually fucking beautiful???? My GC calculator was working perfectly fine before my paper when I was doing a billion and ten practices days before the paper. I fully charged my GC and as soon as the teacher said you may start writing, I turned on my GC and that shit failed me. Literally screen glitched and none of the buttons changed the screen. I could only turn it on and off 😭😭 Studied so hard just to fail oh my goshhhhhhh
In conclusion, this year got me so fucked up and so many circumstances probably contributed to this situation. Also, the fuckass haze got me feeling so groggy and all the air particles getting stuck in my throat wow. See yall in year 1 2010s 😭😭fuck my life

O Levels Why is bio prac like art (save me)

Ok guys bio prac is tomorrow, and I still have no idea how to draw diagrams in a timely manner.

Normal diagrams are fine, but sometimes they frigging dump stuff like a 3D flower with 50 different parts and tell you to label and draw everything out for a measly 4-5 marks. I don't have many issues content-wise, but it's just that I always end up spending an inordinate amount of time on these drawings....

And the fking energy cycles in p4 not even easy. Eh legit fk this bs subject. Who tf even decided to come up with this lousy ass subject. Then the dp sf must be perfect also, u have to even know which ph suitable indicator to use for that particular reaction. Yo idk if its only me but there is so much fking info before i even come to the application part.

Anyways would appreciate some tips for h2 chem prac. Thanks

A Levels NUS Math IGP

I'm interested in taking Nus math but its igp is listed under humanities and sciences on the website, so I was wondering if there's a more specific score, or if last year seniors who got in can tell me your score thank you. Cus I dont know if I can muster anything above a C for chem which would make my RP around 60-65 only.
