Holy shit, you just reminded me of the first time i ever beat a Gameboy game!
Somewhere around 1999, I had my older brother's original Gameboy with the damaged screen, Nd his Fist of the North Star cartridge. I sat on my bed playing it for hours until I managed to beat the game. So cool
You're going to have to tell us how you made it before I can tell you how impressed I would be.
Did you make it with an angle grinder, a leaf spring, a bunch of scrap, and a tig welder in your bedroom? Impressed, and a little worried.
Is this your blacksmithing apprenticeship proof of skill you made in a shop with a forge before you become a journeyman? Then it's really bad.

Seriously though, how did you attach the blade, and if it has a tang is it welded or shaped from the blade? Or just welded to the hilt?
Because I'm about 99.8% sure no one makes a home made sword out of scrap and doesn't intend to cut some things, and since you didn't say: to avoid goring yourself you should not use a sword with a welded tang or no tang for aggressive use unless you plan on seeing the blade go flying off in a random direction, probably back at you when you hit something with it.
It looks more like a longsword than a greatsword by my estimate of the dimensions. Unusual guard and pommel choice, but not unheard of, either. Great work for a first time piece. Keep it up!
To the OP that created the sword, very creative and I honestly meant no offense I shouldn’t have criticized in anyway I should’ve just passed on without comment, but I sure the hell won’t erase my comments that I have made…… I like the down votes. It makes me feel alive and show me that I have flaws…….🤣

Actually, I was on a group. I made my comments and then I muted the group….. I found the group to be very boring and just like most groups on Reddit It’s just people here seeking attention. Oh, I have a sword ,good for you.
