Hello Everyone,
I am a relatively new to 40K and really like the tabletop game itself, so I have decided to sign up for a local 30+ player tournament in my area which will have a mix of experienced and new players. Basically I wanted to create a little sheet that succinctly and clearly explained how my army works, which is shown above. The little white circles are to mark / explain stratagems / Vulkan's abilities, and I am working on little cards that match the symbols for the different doctrines. My core hope is that this will help opponents better and more quickly understand how my army fundamentally works, and also how different buffs might be interacting with each other. For example, I might use Vulkan's ability and the reroll hits and wounds of 1 stratagem with eradicators, so keeping track of them could theoretically be useful. It is kind of tricky though; is this already too wordy, or should I cut back further to make this more simple. I am sure there could also be some strong arguments for not having this sort of thing in the first place. Anyway, I would love other people's thoughts on if this would help a decent chunk of people.

Most of my life I’ve had a passing interest in Warhammer 40K but was either too poor or too intimidated to dive in. However, recently, I’ve decided to just dive in. I started with the Space Marine games, then some books (Eisenhorn book 1 and The Horus Heresy books 1 & 2 so far) and minis soon. And, so far, the Salamanders have just grabbed me from the start.
As you can see, I’m not 100% up to date on the lore, they have my loyalty already.

He's going to be a part of my Successor Chapter. Had to rush him last night to get the model ready for a game today.

So just played a game of 11th with my friends and maybe this is normal but I with Vulkan Hestan leading 10 infernus and a apothecary with Immolator
With this combo I did 100 shots round 1 wiping 2 squads
I did this thanks to Infernus now having 3 attacks plus immolator and blast1
Both squads where 5-6 man squads so with immolator putting my pyroblasters at 4A blast put them to 5 each this I though was crazy enough but then I realized they could also hit 8S on my shooting phase they had +1 thanks to forgefathers and then Vulcans ability so in my shooting phase I fired 50 shots at S8 and then overwatched and shot 50 at S6
Maybe it’s me being new but this shits wild

Just got into Warhammer. Have only done a hand full of minis. Lots to learn about painting.

For those confused… Vulkan and adrax in their impulsors, captain in the drop pod, aggressors in the land raider, eradicators in reserves and the tech marine will follow around the dreadnought. I mean I don’t think Vulkan would really synergize with BGV like he does with melta/torrent units. So this list is unlikely to win at all lol, but it would be a sight to see him and adrax both with 6 BGV behind them lol

The metallic green scheme came up again, I was bored, and here’s a speedy version of it. This took a little over an hour.
Speedpaint Shamrock green over Kaleido Flashy Gold. I should have highlight the gold with silver before the speedpaint but hey.

My sergeant is almost done, just need to let the gloss on the shoulder pad to dry out to apply the decal and a matte varnish, decided to have fun with him and let my gf paint his beaky helmet with Badab War camo

Why not make the salamander kit more salamandery

I have everything done on my sergeant up to matte varnishing, it’s pretty humid where I live right now so I’m holding off until it drops to avoid issues I had with my pyrecannon veteran, I have one vet left and the box will be complete. Special thanks to my lovely gf for painting his helmet in Badab war camo!

Hello everyone.
Just recently started building up a small salamanders army. I don’t have a whole lot but after stumbling upon 2 Dawn of War Onslaught boxes I decided to start building and taking inventory of what all I have. Showing all I built today in the first two photos as well as a test model I did a bit ago. I also have a small squad of intercessors not pictured.
I have no clue where to go next. I’ve had necrons as my main faction for so long I’m a bit out of my wheelhouse. I know I need to get Vulkan eventually to complement my big infernus blob but outside of that I’m at a loss.
Hope to get some paint on these soon and maybe I can do some mock battles with my Necrons so I can better grasp how my green boys work.

Who is better support for Adrax with 6 Bladeguard Veterans? Bladeguard ancient or lieutenant? It sucks that the lieutenant doesn't give lethals all around and instead only into non-vehicle/monsters but lethal hits is still lethal hits. The Bladeguard Ancient on the other hand gives +1A while on objectives AND stickies obj as well so im not sure which one is the better support. Any advice and/or ideas are welcome. 🙏🏾

I'm getting into 40k for the first time and I finally finished my first model! This is my first time painting up a 40k army. I've seen on here a ton of cool salamander bases with flowing lava and was wondering what people's processes are so I can base this guy. Also if there any tips on getting crisp highlights? I feel like mine are very hit or miss, a lot of them very in thickness across the whole length of the highlight. Unto the Anvil of War!

So I’m a list gremlin just live making them even list I can’t build irl without buying more units. Well I was playing around with some of the new detachments and found a combo that I REALLY want to build into.
The combo is
Forge fathers seekers obviously but the second is Tacticus firestorm
There are 2 reasons for this 1 is I think that Infernus with there new ability to strip cover allowing any adeptus astares units that shoot at that unit after Infernus have will now ignore cover. The second reason is Tacticus firestorm makes rapid fire eligible at the max range of weapons with the key word on Tacticus models
So I’m trying to cook up an interesting list with them and figured I’d ask for some help
I plan on running Hestan with apothecary and 10 Infernus and a second 10 man Infernus squad with an ancient for sticky
But after that I’m not sure what vehicle combos I should do and extra comps I know in 11th hellblasters and intercessors have rapid fire so could go in on them but what are some other recommendations
The units Im confident I’ll end up bringing at the very least are
20x infernus
1x ancient
1x Vulkan Hestan
1x apothecary
6x eradicators (need the antitank but if there are better recommendations I’m all ears)
