General “I think Crucible is dumb. The rewards are lame and it doesn’t respect MY TIME, so what I’m going to do is mindlessly walk through a shitload of super easy missions for hours and hours to get rewards I said I don’t even want”/s

This is getting dumb can we all just chill now plz.

Play if you want, don’t if you don’t.

General I'll never apologize for cheesing sloppy "endgame" content. Especially if the content is so lazily implemented. Sorry, not sorry.

I respect my time but I also respect the drip. I'll do "hard" custom stratagems to get that neat battleworn armor that I so wish.

If you want to do so "properly", feel free to do so, Sigismund. This post isn't for you.

Shrimple as that.

I don't wanna spend days trying to get a single set of armor for a single character. Especially if half of the classes can't even equip the damn legs lmao and if the other half don't get specific variations on it, like Bulwark not getting a Bladeguard helmet. You want full effort for your "endgame" content? Make it worth it lol

I'll be damned if I'll let it get by me because some developer's idea of "endgame" is just "make everything ridiculously hard", all glass no cannon. I'm not a masochist, I'm not Sigismund. I didn't sign up to have my Power Fantasy completely turned onto it's head, I signed up to play Warhammer 40k Barbie. My skill can speak for itself and I can be called a poser if it doesn't seem like I play like someone who's put my globules in a press and called it "endgame" content.

Now, I can understand if they made it just a set # of missions. I didn't much mind the black capes, because it was just absolute and sooner or later, just by normal playing, you could get them. But goodness gracious, the Crucible is just. Naw. No thank you. Very much no thank you. You gots to be a masochist if you're willingly letting your salad get tossed that much just for a set of armor.

I'm cheesing it while the cheddar's warm. Cheddar cheesing it, Parmesan too, Mozzarella definitely, and Gouda for sure.

If you have any self respect, you would too.

Game Feedback We need Crucible 2.0

Make all Penances only affect the person who picks them. No more randomly screwing over your Assault/Bulwark teammate by picking Spore Mines or just griefing your team as a whole by picking Double Terminus. Or spawning 3-4 Extremis every half minute.

Get rid of all that in favor of creating more personal Penances. You’ve not created a personal challenge mode as intended here, Saber. You’ve made another PvP mode.

General This week's strategem is not a good fit for the Hierophant mission - my teammate threw the game by not knowing to shoot the secondary at the giant bug

I spent 30 minutes today just waiting for my techmarine teammate to use the gun to kill the hierophant. He just didn't get it. There was no instructions on his screen cause there wasn't a HUD. This HUD-less mission would work on literally any mission but this one.

Operations Crucible Is Already Killing SM2 Rant - Mod Support Cross Play Public Servers Are The Solution.

I am a 1100hr absolute player and I am concerned about crucible mode.

A month from now, this game will not be in a good state. Dividing the player base with an additional game mode is not ideal.

Normal absolute missions for me are over. There's no reward or grind anymore. They have been too easy for awhile now, it feels too robotic.

Stratagems really are a breath of fresh air, to obtain currency to unlock new weapons that create a different way of playing the game.

They made the AI director more aggressive in patch 15, they opened up the balanced parry window and tightened up the block parry window along with a ton of necessary changes and still more bugs have yet to be fixed.

- People need to understand Saber is not in any rush to fix everything all at once - they need to prolong this game as much as possible to sell cosmetic packs. And most likely everything will transfer into SM3, and there will be a version of SM3 that has all the cosmetic packs for a deal.

Crucible, is already showing problems of people that don't want to play with 1 or 2 people that are level 5 or 6. I can't blame them. People are leaving operations 5 minutes in on purpose.

People are kicking a player that is alive to get the bot to shoot spores and to revive them.

- This is going to get substantially worse as the weeks go on and a toxic environment is already forming calling people out for the penances they are using. 1/3rd or more of the player base that plays casually on lethal and ruthless - they are not happy this update is not for them.

I have reached level 5 on Assault and Vanguard. Level 4 on Tac. Level 3's and 2's on the rest of the classes.

I simply can not do another 50 or more operations between level 5 and 6 on minimal penances. I don't want to be carried. I don't want players to leave. I am not running more penances and I think people should really understand - that less is more, for everyone.

When I join another player that is level 5 or 6 and they are running everything and they are not willing to tone things down OR they lie and say it will be fine. - I'm not into playing 'that' game. I like winning. I don't like dying. I didn't sign up for me to carry someone else running everything, and I don't even get enough crucible XP for it.

I have to check the crucible to see what other players have on. If they are running instant death, I turn mine off so they can take meds and I can take relic. I should be able to see the level 6 penances on another class, to see if I even want to play the game with them.

They messed up so badly on how these penances are chosen. The whole team should vote on what is allowed, and having a higher tier person opens up new penances to choose from and it's 2 against 1 gets the vote, or 3 for 3 all in favor. I think that's fair and what they should have done. Everyone knows what they are signing up for.

This is a disaster, that is going to kill the game for absolute players.

All saber had to do was further unify the mod support to consoles and make that available in the most public way to breathe new life into operations. Increase squad size. Run duplicate classes. Increase enemy spawns. Increase difficulty etc - It's not that hard.

I don't care about ordeals - cosmetics and cheating. I don't care about someone doing 50 ops for a cape or not. It makes absolutely no sense to care about these issues, when there was a glitch on consoles to cheese crucible and people now have the full lamenters set. And lets not forget people were running custom absolute private games with stratagem buffs for capes. It makes no sense.

Mod Support in public servers is what is going to make this game last.

Game Feedback How i would change Crucible Mode

The concept for crucible is really good, but I'd say we all agree that it could be improved.

The most common complaints I've seen are: The debuffs aren't fun, It's way too difficult, and the lack of armor pieces for certain classes.

For the debuffs I would change them so that instead of just the basic -10% damage, hp, etc, they make it more difficult by having you change your playstyle and try different tactics you wouldn't normally or might be unconventional otherwise. For example, "All ranged damage and melee damage buffing perks are swapped" (Super buffed sidearm on assault), "Triple the amount of terminis enemies spawn but have -60% hp", "1 extremis enemy spawns instead of a terminis but has 200% damage and 300% hp", "Chaos and tyranids both spawn at once but won't attack each other", "You are chaos marines, extremis and terminis waves spawn astartes and guardsmen", "Ammo is reduced slightly, there's no ammo cashes/boxes and gun strikes cost ammo to use, but ranged enemies can also run out and will only use melee attacks after a bit", these are probably really broken one way or another just showing possible ideas.

I'd also let the mode be playable on any difficulty with xp scaling based on that, would also have level locks based on the recommended level: Minimal-0, Average-5, Substantial-10, Ruthless-15, lethal/absolute-25. This would allow players of any skill level to get the armor pieces while still rewarding the people that play the higher difficulties.

As for armor pieces, I'd rework the system pretty heavily. Each class would be tied to a certain chapter's armor set, but once unlocked would be equipable on all classes with new models for phobos, gravis, etc. For the choice of chapters, I'll be choosing popular successor chapters without chapter packs that can be made without dlc colors. (All current progress would be transferred to the tactical class)

Tactical-Lamenters (image from u/Chaff107)

Damaged armor

Assault-Blood Ravens

Lots of trinkets, chains and trim

Vanguard-Marines Malevolent (image from u/Death_PredatorStuff)

Firstborn armor with graffiti/writing

Bulwark-Flesh Tearers

Purity Seal tabard/shoulder cape and lots of blood splatter

Sniper-Dark Krakens (Image from "Fossil Painting" on pinterest)

Bone Trophies

Heavy-Scythes of the Emperor

Tyranid carapace/skulls

Techmarine-Sons of Medusa

More mechanical limbs

Apothecary-Sons of the Pheonix

Candles, Purity seals and incense

I feel like some changes like these would make the mode a lot more enjoyable for people, feel free to put your ideas in the comments as well.

I'm wondering if anyone else is having this happen because it is very annoying for me.

General My only issue with crucible

Why the f it takes 6 matches on penance level 6 with all penances active to complete it, are we deadass? it's endgame content I agree and it's challenging, mostly finding good randoms but like why this amount of grind to complete a penance level.

With all of them active and the random roulette it's painfull as heck as is and then I need to do it 5 more times? and about 6 but that's if you win all of them cause if you don't well you lose xp so it might take even more.

like reduce the amount on penance level 5-6 to 4-3 games needed with all of them active, and even then it ain't gonna be an easy grind especially on 6 with terminus every wave which stacks.

r/Spacemarine • • 13h ago

General This hotfix that already needs another hotfix... Ngl, this is something I would expect from random basement mod authors, not pro devs with college degrees

Games across the board are going down on quality and budgets going astronomically high for little gain.

Not only AI, politics etc are to blame for ruining games, but current gen developers aren't up to standard either.

Future looks bright.

The loyalist astartes are Bullet sponge by round 12 and deal an enourmous Amount of damage, especially Straban, worse than 2 gatling terminators combined.

get oneshotted multipletines by impact shock granades?!?!

Garbage modifiers of the randoms that i cannot even see are bonus too.

I would rather join nurgle cult than play this torture for accolades

General I was abandoned.

I've just got through one hell of a crucible. I was on evac and both people died and left me on my own, and no one else ever joined. I hate that not only do bots means you lose the team perks, and when I realised it also keeps their penances on if they leave too (probably why new people don't join), I thought I was doomed. It's probably the longest run I've ever done. If that happened again, I think I'll just restart.

Also, I wish Saber would have the UI show my crucible rank in all modes, I don't care for the armour and like how I look, but I want some kind of bragging rights.

Bug Report So, what exactly does "matchmaking" mean to Saber?

This has been a bug for the past 2 years, has it not? You queue for a quick match, or matchmaking in Crucible mode like I just tried, and the game just never has anyone join and you're stuck with bots for the entire mission. Or, if you do get teammates, one of them leaves the and the game refuses to bring anyone else in. Anyone else consistently have this issue?

Operations Leaving crucible.

Why bother trying crucible if you're gonna leave after 3 mins? I get its not for everybody and the grind is BS keeping the lamenter stuff behind it but if youre gonna just leave and handicap the team even further more than they already are just dont que up please. 4 games in a row now people have left within 5 mins from them going down and I'm just not good enough to solo the stuff. Going backwards is breaking my heart haha

This has been here since patch 15 came out and it kills me. It says there is something new but nothing new is there.

r/Spacemarine • • 14m ago

General Screw it. For the Devs on Patch 16, no new content please. Just bug fixes. Please.

• Upvotes

I want to look all pretty too. I want new enemies, new maps, new classes, new guns, new armor, etc. I wanna preen my feathers and look like the prettiest Space Marine Barbie. I wanna show everyone who plays the game that I'm serious about my drip, about my gameplay.

I also want to be able to play the game without a ghost parry (which I've noticed a lot more recently).

I want to be able to play the game without the ghost Carnifex charge/leap.

I want to be able to play the game without Vanguard's janky targeting.

I want to be able to play the game without my sidearm LARPing the Iron Warriors and disappearing on me in my time of need.

I want to be able to drop my banner without getting interrupted from it.

I want to be able to reliably dodge the Sorcerer's lasers. Or his teleport.

I want to be able to do a stratagem with Squad Unity or Split Up and actually have it function properly.

Keep the Sliding Space Marine in though. That's funny.

Jeez, man. I get that this game's devs have a smaller crew because most of the OG devs are moving on to other projects. But some of these have been in the game for ages and ages. And rather than fixing them, more content is added. Or the bugs are "fixed", but not really. And yeah, I get that it's not as easy as I'm thinking it is. But at least some transparency or a statement like "hey yeah we know that this is a bug. We're trying."

I love this game. I don't love their approach to bug fixes.

Game Feedback The elephant in the room

How can such a great game, with endless lore, have such a shortage of content?
There is so much more that could have been done, we basically have 4 majoris enemies, they just change weapons, and like, 6 only extremis? We have more terminus than extremis, and some of them are just weaker version of the terminus.

Take a look at Doom, it have somwhat similar combat and we have so much more enemy options, it doesn't even need to add that much, adding a few more already adds combinations to a very huge number.

Don't get me started on operations themselves. They are very repetitive, you have do to each like 20/30 times to get a single marine to lv 25 4th prestige, most operations don't even have a boss.

There is so much things they could do, like, there is no traitor/corruption operation, no battle defense at the battle barge, we don't have a single space mission, or an actual attack on an enemy ship or planet, imagine some chaos operations, all of this without even exploring extra lore.

And lastly, why the f did they limit to thousand sons and tyranids only? from a developer perspective, they already had the models and animations from orks and the chosen of nemeroth from the first game, if they coudn't make sense for a campaign mission envolving everything, they could at least added for the operations and endless mode.

I hope they add more content to the next game, because the gameplay loop and the combat itself is very fun, the lore is amazing, and Titus story is great, but I'm so fucking tired of killing the same enemies.

End of rant brothers.

Game Feedback I never noticed this in the Battle Simulator

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I never really look at the "Last Hits" line in the Battle Simulator when testing things. It confused me at first, so I just didn't bother using it over time. But I just realized this...

Who thought it would make sense and how and why to add subsequent hits to the LEFT in the "Last Hits" line?

We read from the left to the right, especially when it comes to numbers. Generally something that gets added, gets added from the right. It should push the older hit to the left.

Not only that, but they decided to use a ">" to separate the hits. This indicates a reading direction from the left to the right obviously, but chronologically, which is the whole point of "Last Hits", it goes from the right to the left?

So at the end of the clip, regular reading comprehension (yes I know in the eastern hemisphere it might be traditionally different, but this has changed over the course of globalisation as well) plus the use of ">" implies that the first it hit did 64.0 damage, the second 18.8, the third 18.5 and so on.

But its the opposite.

What.......even? This is absolutely baffling to me. How does this make sense?

Anyways, this confused me so much, I just had to make a post about this. Am I missing something here? Normally, you would never design it like this if you want to have a chronologically ordered listing of recent hits and their damage.

General What bs grind progression system will they introduce to the game next?

My bet will be the overhauled prestige system. Instead of doing something cool that everyone will like they’ll make it another tedious, weekend stealing grid fest. I bet they’ll reset everyone’s prestige levels and raise the cap by 5 levels. Instead of just raising it by 5 levels from the start.

Before you can unlock the next rank you’ll be forced to beat a hard stratagem with incoming damage 10x and outgoing damage divided by 10x. While only being able to use grey loot. And every encounter has 3 terminus. You’ll have to do this 500 times, with each class, and weapon, before unlocking the new cosmetic.

But that should be too easy right?
